Hi everyone,

I hope you are all well and finding time to paint. I've been busy working on this hairy dog painting because a few of you mentioned that you'd like some help with painting fur. I photographed this little guy in Sydney one day a few years ago when we were having lunch in a park. I thought he'd be a good subject to demonstrate how I paint long scruffy fur. It's not easy to do so I hope I'll be able to break it down for you in the tutorial.

I'll be starting to put together the sunflower tutorial tomorrow hopefully. So I'll work on this 'Hairy Sydney Dog' tutorial after I've finished the Sunflower.

I’m so excited for this!

So gorgeous and excited!! It looks incredibly similar to my sisters dog Harry . I would love to be able to paint this one day for her (and my dog too)! Huge congratulations for reaching 100 patrons so quickly too- that's amazing and well deserved

This is going to be a great tutorial!

Tanya

Yes. I am working on the bunny paint right now. The fur class will be a great tutorial. Looking forward to it. I was wondering by any chance do you have a date in mind for your new skill share class on the Galah bird. I am super excited about that class.

WHEEEE!! Just got through watching Chelsea on YouTube (LOVED it) and I know it took a lot of courage to just PAINT her for your son's girlfriend, not to mention do all the work involved with a tutorial (the voiceover alone took more guts than I could have mustered, being the devoted mama to the three dogs that I am). I really would LOVE another dog tutorial, but never would have asked for one, so I'm just over the moon delighted to see this beautiful shaggy dog! And my very first dog, Coco, as a 7-year-old looked almost identical to this one you snapped in Sydney, so maybe I'll give it a shot, even if mine ends up looking like a turnip. And I got the CAMELS hung up at 3:00 a.m. this morning, finally! Ended up framing it myself sort of, so it took some time, but I will try and post it all here today or tomorrow and share it with your patrons; it looks FANTASTIC in my office/bedroom/art room!!

Heidi Bingham

Fantastic!!! It's just beautiful!!!

Louise De Masi

Thank you Vickie! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Camels hung on the wall at 3.00am? You must be a night owl or you work too hard. I'm so happy the painting looks good and I love that you have an office/bedroom/art room like me!

Louise De Masi

I'm about half way through editing all the videos for the Galah class. Then I want to film some videos where I demonstrate all the techniques that I'll use in the painting and I have to film introductions, supplies video and the trailer. Phew - Maybe 6 weeks or so if I get moving on it.

Oh, you kicked Husband out for snoring too so now you can paint and decorate with flowers and pastels anytime you want? Great??!!!! :)

Tanya

I am looking forward to. I can't wait Thank you

He is stunning!! Don't thing I could have ever dared to paint a long haired dog, I'd get completely lost between too much daunting details that makes the piece look heavy and overworked (and just no fun painting it at all...) and having enough detail to look realistic while still appearing painterly at the same time - It would have a been a complete disconnected mess! But with your tutorial - maybe? We shall see... Looking forward to watching this one!

Louise De Masi

Thanks Palmira. I'll do my best to try and break it down and explain what I'm doing.

Charlie

Work in progress? This looks like an exceptionally beautiful, FINISHED painting! Brava Louise! BRAVA!

Linda Cormier

Hello Louise! Looking to see if you will be finishing this tutorial? Very excited to watch and learn..
