Dear Louise,I have just finished your turtle tutorial. You are an exceptional teacher. I have been doing watercolor for several years now, and i learned a lot about controlling the application of paint. I finally grasped the idea that doing fine lines is more like drawing than painting. I also learned that i have a rather short attention span. I need to work on that. Again, thank you for sharing what you have learned.

Louise De Masi

Thank you very much Pat! My pleasure. A long time ago I taught acrylic painting classes face to face and I used to tell my students who were often in a rush....' Take your time and enjoy the process.' 💕

Laura Etchemaite-Walborn

Thank you Louis for another great tutorial! I really appreciate that you showed us how you corrected the problem on the back of the bird!

Louise De Masi

My pleasure Laura. Thank you! I like to show you everything- even the problems I have. 😬😘

Joyce Mcleod

Thank you for this lesson! I will try and use this method for a stellar Jay I with the purples and blues.

Louise De Masi

My pleasure Joy. Thank you! I have a little tutorial on YouTube here of a Steller's Jay https://youtu.be/UaVVnL7Fx0U Copy and paste the link into your browser and maybe it will give you a few hints.

Thank you for the lesson! could you explain more about how to use the scrubber brush? I wet the brush a little bit before scrubbing. Mine made blooms when I scrubbed. if the brush is dry, it does not scrub the color at all. My paper is 300g cold press. could it be because of the paper? I wish I can show you the picture.

Louise De Masi

Hi Miji. You have to use the scrubbers when they're wet but the paper must be dry. You created a bloom because your paper wouldn't have been completely dry. You can email it to me ldemasi@iprimus.com.au

I love Part II of the cardinal, I never thought about using the same palette of the main character and I really like it. Thank you so much I´m learning endless, and spending my quarantine time more enjoyable because of you. Take care!

Beautiful cardinal tutorial, I really learned a lot watching this.

Yolanda Michaud

You're an awesome teacher, Louise! Thanks to your guidance about all the practicalities of watercolour, tonight I completed this painting. I look forward to trying the other lessons on birds. Thank you very much for all your work and your thorough explanations.

I was wondering what I would do for our Christmas card this year so was happy to see your Cardinal tutorial. I so enjoy your tutorials and my favorites are your birds and flowers. Thank you so much. I'll try to post as instead of the purple background, I put winter Pine trees with snow for our northern winter scenes.

Louise De Masi

Thank you Sandra. This year, like others has flown past. I'll have to start planning another Christmas themed painting. 💚

Louise…You are such a DELIGHT! I’m new to Patreon and just finished the cardinal around 2:30 am this morning! Your instructions and demonstrations are easy to follow. I love listening to you with your pleasing and soft voice while watching you paint. Being from Texas, I LOVE your accent! With this one tutorial, I LEARNED SO MUCH! Since cardinals represent deceased loved one who are watching over us, I wanted to paint this for a family member who’s lost her son, sister and cousin within the last two years. I gave it to her today and she was so touched. I never could have painted one that I was proud to give her without your instructions. I plan to start painting your old truck tomorrow with many more to follow! Thank you so much! If I can figure out how to send you a photo of my painting, I’ll do it!

Louise De Masi

Thank you very much Julianne. 2.30am wow! You must have been having fun. What a beautiful and caring gift to give. I'm sure she will treasure it. ❤️
