Anne Watman

I did this! It was not easy, but I learned a lot, including the fact that I actually love one of my paint brushes that I hadn’t cared for before. It’s a Silver Brush Black Velvet, one that you mentioned, Louise. I have several, and I thought they were too soft. But my painting improved a lot once I switched to my size 6. It holds a lot of water/paint, doesn’t dump it on my paper, and has a great point. I also went back and did some glazing, and that made a big difference, too. This was very challenging.

Sandy

This is my ext painting.

Tammie Breakfast

Im new to painting and I so enjoyed painting this picture and the video instructions were great Louise. Im going to try it again as I made lots mistakes that I want to work on.

Louise De Masi

Thanks very much Tammie. I'm glad you are going to try again. That's how you will learn. 🥰

I am new to watercolor and really need this kind of tutoring. I had a couple of challenges regarding the black mixture. First, getting my color light enough and lastly the mixture started separating the ultramarine and burnt sienna. I had to stir it up several times. I liked the way it tuned out. I’m proud of myself for trying😅

I hope you read this. Two of my daughters fussed over some of my finished tutorials. My 13 year old granddaughter went home with my dragonflies. They commented that I was getting better. That made me very pleased. Thank you so much. I really needed a new hobby. I used to quilt on a long arm quilting machine until I was unable to physically handle it anymore. So I feel like this is such a blessing and I’m glad I found you on YouTube.

Louise De Masi

Thank you very much Ann. I'm so pleased you are happy with your painting. Don't worry about the paint colours separating because it adds to the beauty of your painting. 💝

Question: I’m going to invest in some quality round brushes and wondered why you like the DaVinci series 35 vs. the series 11?. I own a set of Silver Brushes and they are nice. My curiosity is killing me ☺️

Louise De Masi

Hi Ann, I like the series 35 because they are extra pointed. They have a very fine tip.

ann fuller

I’m going to get the set of 3. Sizes are 5,4,3 rounds. It’s my 35th wedding anniversary gift. I also get an art allowance every month for supplies. Thanks again for your quick response!

Cecilia Nuyianes

Louise, How long does it take you to paint this Daisey?

Brenda Cholin

Thanks Louise for the daisy video. That took about 4 hrs Cecilia.

Louise De Masi

It's hard to say Cecilia. I painted it over two days with lots of breaks......I'm guessing 4 or 5 hours.

Cecilia Nuyianes

Thanks Louise, I just finished watching part 2 Daisey. I cannot wait to get painting! Your teaching method is very clear. I see where I need to make some changes. I was not happy with my work, but you cleared up some issues. I was having harsh sharp edges on my petal leaves

cherie

Thanks so much Louise - it's been so enjoyable watching your tutorials and learning about watercolour from you this year. Merry Christmas - I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday. And sending you all best wishes for next year :)

Lydia Shemain

Another GREAT tutorial. Thank you Louise. Looks simple but a fair amount of work. Soft and pretty. Happy Painting in 2020 — lots of good luck.

Laura Etchemaite-Walborn

Thank you so much Louise! I just finished my daisy and I love it. Happy Holidays!

Patricia Moss

Excellent. Enjoyed doing this painting and will do it again to put to use the lessons I learned and achieve an improved result. A question -- is there a way to search for a specific lesson? I found the rabbit once but now am unable to locate it. Thanks in advance.

Louise De Masi

That's great Patricia. Thank you! The easiest way is to use my index on my website. I've put a thumbnail of each tutorial painting on there and if you click on them they are linked back here to the tutorial. http://www.louisedemasi.com/new-index Copy and paste that link into your browser and then bookmark it for later use. When you go to that page on my website, scroll down a little and you'll see it. The other way to find the tutorials is here on Patreon. I have a featured tag that says 'watercolour tutorials'. It sits on the 'Posts' page and also on the 'Overview' page. If you click on that tag it lists them all in a long list.

Claire

thoroughly enjoyed this class, wonderful, thank you so much

Dear Louise, just watching the news, so shocking news of the fire. I do hope you and your family are safe??

Beth Stauffer

Yes, we're hoping you're not affected by the fires. Please update when you can.

Louise De Masi

Thank you very much! We are safe here but I wish I could say the same for the people around all the other fires that are burning. Our country desperately needs rain.

Louise De Masi

Thank you Beth. We are safe here. We had a small amount of rain on Christmas day which was wonderful. I wish it would rain all over our thirsty country. Rain is the only thing that will stop these fires now. Happy new year! 😘

Diana Musso

wishing you rain as well !! I have always wanted to visit Australia (don'e think I can handle the very long plane ride for the US). I am new to your patreon site. My first try at one of your tutorials is the chrysanthemum on Skillshare. I am about 95% through. Up to painting the leaves now. I have to say I am very surprised that I hung in there and continued through . You are one of the very few instructors where I did not give up half way through .I had so much fun seeing it develop. Thank you so much for being such an excellent teacher and painter. I am looking forward to new works of art !!!

Louise De Masi

Thank you very much Diana. There was a lot of work in that Chrysanthemum. I'm glad you stuck with it! There's lots of new paintings coming in 2020. 💕

Patsy Ann Riendeau

Please God, let it rain on all of Australia. They need it so badly. Louise, I love following your instruction. I could listen to you all day. I love the subject matter you choose and how carefully you explain what you are doing.

Christie Schnabel

Thank you, thank you, thank you! That was my first tutorial. Whew! I'm tired, but very pleased with my painting. Which tutorial of yours do you suggest I try next?

Louise De Masi

My peasure Christie. I'm glad you're pleased with your painting! If you're a beginner the little Grey Fantail is a good one to do. I've updated my tutorial index here: http://www.louisedemasi.com/new-index Underneath the thumbnails I've written what level I feel they are suitable for (beginner, intermediate etc).

Darja

Thank you Louise for this tutorial. The white Daisy was my first turorial. Had so much fun and learned a lot.

Lisa Adcock

Thank you for the videos! I love how you explain why you are making the choices you are as it helps us learn.

Yukti Ajawani

Hey Louise, I have been a follower from a long time. I took all your tutorials from skillshare and now on Patreon. You are a very talented artist and I have learned a lot from you. Thank you so much for putting in all the hard work in these tutorial❤

Wilwarin

Barbara MacLeod
