Hi everyone,

I'm currently making a tutorial for this Koala painting. I've done all the voice over and I'm now in the process of checking it all. It should be ready before the end of the week for you.

I've posted this little video of a Willie Wagtail here for you. It's a video I made for YouTube last week. It's only about 15 minutes long and I painted it in my visual diary. A few of you have seen it and have messaged me asking if you can have the line drawing so you can have a play. So, below I have attached the line drawing, a photo of my finished painting and also my reference photo. There's no supplies list  because this is just a quickie. I've included some information in it about mixing black paint if you're interested.

My sons class has been talking about the fires and he came home today saying "I needs all the coins for the KOALAS!" Lol. I'll have to paint this for the teacher ❤ (hes 6 btw)

Kris Briedé

Lovely subject Louise, especially for us in Australia having lost so may of these beautiful animals. Looking forward to painting this. We had a Mum and baby in our back garden last week and they were both fit and healthy and not affected by the fires thankfully. Kris - PMQ.

Heather Sanders

Love the Koala Louise, such beautiful colours. Can't wait to get started on it.

Marijke de Boer

Oooooooh I love both of them. I had seen the little Wagtail and hoped you would also launch it on Patreon. Thank you. Such a pretty Koala - have been thinking so much of them these past weeks and the kangaroos too (and all the animals suffering from those nasty bush fires). I very much adore the nose of the koala - pretty purple!

Gorgeous koala... ❤️ Got a box of paints today so should have majority of the colours you use now... Give or take a few 😊

The koala is beautiful, that's something I can't wait to have a go at, although I'm looking at your skillshare tutorials right now and wondering which one to start with 😍🤔🤔

bridget vollmer

Lovely bird! Can't wait to try and I'm so excited for your koala. Glad you're staying safe over there.

Jacinthe Boudreau

Very lovely and time we’ll spend watching this while my Bald Eagle head dries💖💫

Kathy Wilden

Looking forward to paint a koala. But first I want to paint the daisy. Thank you Louise for interesting tutorials.

Rita Navroth

This tutorial was absolutely wonderful, very helpful on mixing colors AND the difference in applying them. This helps me a great deal. You really are the BEST teacher Louise, thank you. I really appreciate you and your wonderful teaching style.

Louise De Masi

Thank you Rita! I'm glad it helped and thank you for telling me.

Nicole Butzen

Very instructive tutorial. I will definitely try this color mixing technique. The granulation of the color mix gives a beautiful shine to the "black". Certainly for black birds.Thank you Louise.

Kelle Luoma

Thank you Louise, for this tutorial. I appreciate that you show when you misjudged a colour, or change your mind about one. Helps me to realize that I'm allowed to make mistakes and change my mind. This is such a cute bird!

Les Brandt

Just learning and love how you work. On the Wagtail, I missed what kind of ink you use to put in the white accents, or maybe I did catch it... India??? Thanks so much for what you do

Les Brandt

Thank you. Hope you stay safe.

Elaine

I really enjoyed painting this Louise. Thank you.

Louise De Masi

That's great! My pleasure Elaine. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
