Hi everyone,

I hope you're safe and well and are coping with everything that's happening around the world. I hope you're not feeling isolated. I want you to know that I'm thinking of you.

I've been at the doctors today because I have a nasty infection in my leg. We don't know what it is. I'm on strong antibiotics to try and get on top of it. I had to sign some paperwork before I saw the doctor to say that I haven't been overseas and I haven't been in contact with anyone who has and I don't have a fever and I'm not feeling unwell etc.......crazy times. I'm so grateful that I am able to work from home.

We haven't closed our schools over here yet. I don't know if it will come to that. My daughter who is a school teacher has to keep all of her students 1.5 metres apart. She's got some kids working on the floor, some at the desks, some in the 'wet area' etc. Not an easy task I'm sure. My mother in law has lymphoma and she's just had her spleen taken out. She's having chemotherapy at the moment so we have to take good care of her. I'm sure you've all got stories to tell so let me know how you are coping in the comments when you get the chance.

I'll quickly let you know what I'm working on: Today I'm checking over the tutorial of the Yellow Robin. I'm making sure the sound is ok and I'm checking that I haven't said anything too confusing etc. Then I have to get the line drawing and supplies list ready. That will be ready very soon. I have completed the tutorial of the little Chickadee painting. I have to check it as well. It's a quick no fuss painting.

My son is cutting the video of the Dalmatian for me. That saves me a few hours work. I made a quick tutorial of that painting for YouTube before I started on Patreon. A few of you have asked me about it so I said I'd make a full length version of it. So it's coming soon.

I want to paint the lilies on some paper. The photo here is the painting I did on Aquaboard. I haven't had time to do that yet but I'll get to it soon.

I've done some watercolour sky practice so I'll be posting a video about my learning before the end of the month.

I also have a hummingbird that I will be starting to work on soon so stay tuned for that.

Lots to do!

Stay safe.

Louise

Please take care of yourself keep an eye on your leg if you think it's getting worse go in again, you know better then anyone. My brother waited to long with an injury to his leg and it ended up in a real mess and several days in hospital so please take care of your self! We will wait lol

Melissa

Please.take good care of yourself. I pray for a speedy recovery

Forgot to mention the chickadee is absolutely gorgeous!

I’ve been thinking of you and how fortunate you are for being able to make money from home. I hope your leg heals fast. I’m in Dallas area , Plano a suburb /schools are closed for another week after just coming off spring break. I’m still working and fortunately work in a salon suite by myself. My clients are comfortable coming in so far, but I have asked for them to reschedule if they couching. So crazy because some folks may not have symptoms early on. 🤭🤪but at least it’s something.

Prayers for your leg! I am a homeschool parent and live out in the country (in the Fl, US)... but we are still feeling the effects here... mainly in food hoarding :( but MOST people are being quite nice. Our schools are all shut down for a minimum of 2 weeks. All of our parks are rec, gov buildings are all shutting down. Very strange times indeed. However, love will still go one... patience... kindness... And really MY day to day routine hasn't changed much as I live a hermit's life.. lol One thing I hope... more time to paint!! :P

Wishing you a speedy recovery! Crazy times we are living right now. I live in a small remote mountain community in Colorado and own a restaurant/bar. The governor of the state just ordered all restaurants and bars to close for the next 30 days. We are however able to offer carryout. I worry about my employees because there is no way I can afford to keep them all on the payroll. The good news is maybe I will find more time to paint?!!

At present things are going crazy all over the world. The best thing we can do is - stay calm, be sensible, be careful and mindful of others. Louise just look after yourself and those you love. As fellow artists we love all you do, and I really look forward to the next project. Unfortunately I cannot get the salt technique right, tried several different kinds, so now I am moving from a Strathmore to an Archer's - so will keep you posted. I am somewhat behind in my projects, but now that I have my 'office duties' on track, will probably get closer to catching up. Since my grandson loves Chicadees I am really looking forward to doing that project and if successful will frame it for him. Thanks again for all you do.

I hope you feel better and I hope your mother in law recovers quickly. That is a lot to deal with, even in easier times. I am a public librarian and we shut down completely today for two and a half weeks. Fortunately, I am able to work a bit from home to keep from getting bored. My daughter is in kindergarten. Her school is closed until April 6. So I will juggle work and caring for her and doing lessons. I am thankful for the flexibility and the fact that I'll keep my normal salary. I am doing my best to stay away from stores, as last week's trips sent my anxiety through the roof. Hoping to paint a bit when I get a routine figured out.

Hope everyone stays home, takes good care of themselves and loved ones. We’re home with a few exceptions. I work with dogs when the owners are not home, I only have one full time client left which makes using sanitizer much easier. I stocked up on painting supplies and will post a picture on the Facebook group of the current struggle I engaged in. It’s that pretty red/orange sun lit flower. What a hot mess lol

We are safe and well in New Mexico USA - glad to hear you are the same. I am enjoying staying home 24/7. I am blessed to work at home as well and when my work is done I have lots of time for painting! You are outdoing yourself with all these wonderful additions to Patreon! While I love it all!! I really do hope you are not feeling pressured and that you will be able to be at rest and enjoy your work. : ) I hope your leg is better very soon and that your mother-in-law is successful in every battle she faces!! Big (((Hugs))) Patti

Southwest New Mexico, small town, so far we feel safe and are being careful. Lots of things closing but it is for the best. We are spending more time in nature. Hope you are better soon and that we all stay safe through these trying times. Thank you for all you do and may we all love and help each other ... from a distance of course😑

Louise, please take care of YOU! Love the chickadee! I’m in central Texas. There are now confirmed cases of the virus in 2 counties surrounding us. I live in a “55 or better” community. All our social activities are closed. I just signed my mother up for hospice. My life is crazy right now, I NEED to make time for art therapy!!!

Rainkatt

Oh Louise, take good care of that leg, your legs are precious, I know, I only have one left! Eat plenty of protein and keep it elevated. Here in Washington state we are well, we live out west about 3 1/2 hours from Seattle on a farm in a rural area. I've got lots of art supplies and enough projects to keep me going for months. I will be praying for your quick healing!

Anne Sonkoly

Get well soon! I am in the central valley of California. The US is urged to practice social distancing and to pretty much self isolate for at least the next two weeks. The grocery store shelves have been emptied by people overshopping. I went today and there was no bread, no milk, no noodles, etc...it was very surreal and scary. All our schools have closed. I am praying this resolves quickly and smoothly for all. I'm grateful for the tutorials. You can't worry as much when you're painting.

Kelly Wilson

Prayers you heal soon, Lousie! I'm in the central valley of Calfiornia and things are crazy here! I'm praying for everyone in our world, our leaders around the globe, and especially those one the front lines caring for the sick. I have faith that God will carry us all through! Always so thankful for your tutorials especially now! 🙏🏻💞

Chantelle Venter

Thanks for all the work you do on these beautiful videos. Hope your leg gets better soon. South Africa is on lock down since Sunday night. Schools closed etc to prevent the spread of the virus. It's all a bit scary and I'm also glad I work from home as I have chronic asthma. At least we will have lots of time to paint now Hehehehe. Please take care of yourself. Lots of love from Cape Town ❤️

Helena Cameron

Thank you Louise for all the work you are doing for us, I don’t know how you fit it all into your day! I really look forward to each new project, even though I haven’t had time to keep up with them all. Here in Scotland things are now seeming much scarier, even though in my area it really isn’t very bad, yet. We’re not on total shutdown yet, the advice is to isolate ourselves as much as possible, which I will do as I live in a rural spot. The scariest thing is worrying about not being able to buy food in the shops because of people panic buying. The only positive is that I’m hoping to get lots of painting done. Everyone take care of yourselves, this is a lovely community to keep us all feeling connected to the good things in the world 😊

Candice Rouse - Soft Pastel Demos

Looking forward to all that! Especially the hummingbird! I finished your white daisy ha looks no where as wonderful as yours but anyway it’s ok! Keep us posted re your leg!

Kathy Wilden

Looking forward to the tutorials. Hope your leg heals quickly. Have to go to hospital on Friday for one day surgery. I’m trying to not worry too much. I’m sure everything will be fine.

Emma Grove

I hope those antibiotics work! It’s good to see everyone encouraging each other, because I think we really need it right now. I am stocking up on what I need, and I hope the grocery store has enough left to provide food for two weeks! I think I’ll buy some canned food, because surely that’ll be there. There’s only been one reported case in my county, in AZ, but I’m sure the virus is out there, we just don’t have any testing. My sister is feeling poorly and has a cough, so we’re worried. I could go on about my gripes but... so far everyone is alive, and well enough, that I know I can make it through this scary time. Seeing you carry on gives me a lot cheer, and I look forward to working on the upcoming paintings! That chickadee is so cute!

TeresaLaLana

Hi, I hope you feel better soon and that your leg heals quickly. I am in Madrid (Spain), we are all locked down in our home for at least 2 weeks, but probably for more time. The news are quite scary, but we still find strength and are sure it will pass. Because of my job I have to go out 3 days this week (which is a tiny bit scary), but being in lockdown is really hard, that is why it is nice to keep in touch through the social media and through nice communities like this one, we really appreciate your work and effort to provide us with things to do and with an emotional support network.

Jo Olson

Thanks for keeping us up to date with your situation. Make sure you take every precaution to help heal that infection. Don't over-do. I love your tutorials but there are plenty that I have not done yet so if you don't publish them as often as usual we will carry on working though the others. Prayers for you and your family. My mother had chemo for non-Hodgkins lymphoma and came through famously. I'm in a large city in Michigan USA. Schools, libraries, restaurant/bars/pubs, & fitness centers are all closed. Churches are on-line, Bible studies canceled, and stores are limiting certain specialty services. These are scary times. My hope and prayer is that people around the world will follow the mandates of our leaders and make it though this horrible time as a stronger and more unified planet. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent through the calm delivery of your tutorials. Although I love the brilliant colors of the flowers and have been painting only those so far however I am anxious to try the Chickadee. We feed birds on our front porch and I love watching the chickadees, wrens, cardinals and finches. Painting helps me distance myself from the woes of the world and calms my spirit. We all need to keep painting and praying. <3

Katherine Docherty

Thanks for working on the lovely tutorials ,I'm looking forward to working in my new painting room(my son's old bedroom) & can't wait to get started on the pink rose. Things not too bad in Scotland yet, apart from empty shelves in supermarkets! Hope your Infection heals up Quickly & you are feeling better soon. Take care & I wish you all the best.xx

Debra Sullivan

I had a foot surgery one year, seven months, and two weeks ago and the surgical wounds have still not healed!!! In my case it’s because of the biologic medicine I’m taking for RA. On top of that, I’m also isolating myself from the dread covid-19, so I can literally sit and paint all day long. And I do :) I have quite a way to go, but my painting has improved sooo much and I credit you for that. I’m loving all your recent tutorials, especially the bee (means Debra) and also look forward to the chickadee, but when I read a bit further I actually squealed out loud at your mention of.... SKIES!!! I LOVE that idea. I’d love to be able to paint dramatic skies, peaceful skies, sunsets, etc. etc. Please do continue to take good care of yourself, Louise. And yes, we are definitely living history these days. Thankfully we can relax while painting :) I agree, we are very, very lucky.

Susan M

So far I am enjoying your tutorials very much. It has been a wonderful distraction! Thank you for all your hard work and I look forward to the upcoming videos. Feel better soon

Kelle Luoma

Loving the tutorials, Louise! Hope the antibiotics work, please take care of yourself. I also take biologics, like Debra, and live in the Seattle Metro. My employer started me working from home on March 3, and i will continue to wfh until at least the end of this month, if not through mid-April. TBH, I do feel isolated, and depend upon the tutorials and instagram posts, plus the facebook group, to keep me connected. I do wish I could paint all day! It's so tempting when my studio is also my home office. *naughty grin* Again, thank you, Louise, for all that you do. Please take care of yourself.

Bruna Ciabarri

Hello, everybody! I live in the North of Italy, in the area with the highest rate of contamination, and, of course, we are segregated in our homes. That's why I thank Louise (once more) for her beautiful tutorials. They help me relax and think positive, in spite of what's happening. Hoping everything will stop as soon as possible. Please, everybody, take care.

Mary T Harrington

Hi Louise, I hope you are healing brilliantly from the infection. Are you going to be posting a tutorial of the chickadee?

Sharon E Toombs

Hey Louise. Wishing you and your family complete wellness and safety. I'm getting over a cold (minor problem) and since I'm in the most targeted age group for covid19 keeping myself at home. Praying for the worlds safety. Thank you for all you do. All of the upcoming projects are really interesting.

Henry De los Rios

Like you said crazy times, well hope you get better soon. Here in New Jersey everything is closing schools malls bars even churches. I never thought I would live though something like this

Louise De Masi

Good luck with the surgery Kathy. I hope it goes well for you. 💕

Elizabeth R Gambaccini

Louise,I’ll remember you in my prayers concerning the leg infection

Elizabeth R Gambaccini

whoops! I wasn’t finished!😛 I’m sorry you are having to go through that. I admire you for accomplishing so many projects, and I love your chickadee! I’m in Indiana, and all restaurants and bars had to close by 2:30 yesterday. Schools, also, are closed. My daughter and all her co-workers had to start teleworking. God bless you and your family...goodnight!

Tina Clark

Wishing you a speedy recovery from your leg infection. And I want to thank you for all your hard work on these tutorials.

River

Michelle

I hope you feel better soon, thank you so much Louise! Can't wait to see the hummingbird💕

susan

Hope everything goes well for you and your family. Looking forward to the new tutorials when I get to them. An early birthday present was some Arches paper - block - which I am now too scared to use in case I mess it up! Not sure what to try next, gum leaves last time maybe the daisy this time.

Renate Archibald

I’m in Concord, Massachusetts. I feel like you are such a dear friend. Your tutorials fill my days in these isolated times.

Isatys09

Thank you Louise. Here in Boston things are getting pretty stressful. I had to close my research lab yesterday for at least 1 to 2 months and will have to work offsite now. All of our on-going projects had to be abruptly stopped. Months of work thrown out. It will take 1/2 year minimum to recover and I may have to let people go. I am devastated. My son is out of high school with limited guidance from the teachers yet as nobody was prepared. My husband is an essential worker and potentially exposed everyday.

Isatys09

But painting with you is the highlight of my days. Can't thank you enough for keeping uploading new projects!.

Louise De Masi

I'm so sorry! One day at a time- we'll get through this.

Nancy Taylor

Since we are asked to stay at home, I am trying to paint some of the paintings you have on line. I love doing it! I will keep you and your mother in law in my prayers. I hope your infection heals quickly, and your mother in law regains her health.

hafsa26 .

Please take good care of your health & eat more fresh fruit & vegetables. May God give you relief from all your ailments, ameen.

Elizabeth lemieux

Wow! You certainly have a full plate. I will certainly keep you all in my prayers. It broke my heart watching the fires on the news. So very sad.
