My tutorials are designed to help you on your creative journey. Any painting you create from a tutorial where I use my own reference photo is for personal use only. They can't be sold or entered into an art competition. I write on the Supplies Lists where the photos come from. Permission is not given to paint any of my earlier paintings that are not tutorials because some of them are licensed. Also, a few of my earlier paintings were painted from photographs where I sought the permission of the photographer. The photographer gave me permission to use it, not others.

If I do a tutorial where I use another photographer's photo (eg from Pixabay or Unsplash) that is available for anyone throughout the world to download (copyright free) and use I’m happy for you to sell the paintings you create from the tutorial.

If I do a tutorial and I use a photo that I have paid for and downloaded from the website Wildlife Reference Photos in order for you to sell the painting you create from the tutorial you need to purchase and download the photograph yourself. This is in accordance with the Terms and Services of the Wildlife Reference Photo website.

If you share a finished painting on social media I would really appreciate it if you could link back to my account (be it on Facebook, YouTube or Instagram) and mention that you painted it in one of my tutorials. @louisedemasi

Thank you!

This grape tutorial is the first advanced tutorial I have completed. I painted it twice, once on Arches 100% cotton paper and the second time in a W&N journal. I learnt so much ... slowing down with my painting speed, taking time to get the drawing accurate, heaps about paint to water ratio, and how to fix mistakes. I consider myself a relative beginner and never thought i could do an advanced tutorial, but I'm so pleased with my result. Thank you Louise

Thank you Louise!

starting the grapes--this painting is so lovely you are a wonderful wonderful teacher!

Louise, I just wanted to tell you how much I love your dive into minimal paint colors. I love so much the idea of mixing minimum colors (something it’s so easy to get away from with all the color choices offered) and getting gorgeous results! I think we sometimes forget that a small pallet can yield lots of colors and tones. Anyway, just a big thanks! It’s how we grow as artists :)

I totally agree with you Karen! Louise, you are fantastic to say the least. I also would like to thank you for all the progress photos. I have been following you for quite some time now and I can sometimes reference those to do my paintings, although I still always watch to your complete tutorial first.

I finally remembered what my (northwest USA) art teacher called your "eradicator" brush. She called it a "scrubber" brush.

Louise De Masi

Thank you Karen. That's very true and I'm more mindful these days about the colours I choose. 💕

Louise De Masi

Ah yes! I have some scrubber brushes. They are much stiffer than the eradicator brushes.

May I make a tutorial request? I’d absolutely love a tutorial on how to paint dolphins.

Louise De Masi

Thanks for the suggestion Karen. I have dolphins on my list. ☺️

Linda Barnett

I learned a lot from this tutorial. Thank you.
