Hi everyone,

I'm popping in to let you know what I'm working on.

I've been asked several times if the cow in water is going to be a tutorial so I'm happy to let you know that I am making a tutorial of this painting.

As well as this one I have the Guinea Fowl nearly finished for you.

I know it's not the most attractive bird but it was a lot of fun to paint.

I am also making a tutorial of this duck on water. You'll learn about painting water and reflections with this painting.

The cow vignette below will also be a tutorial.

I haven't forgotten the beginners.

Below are some easy and quick, pen and wash paintings that will be a tutorial. They were fun to paint too.

I am also continuing to work on the technique videos where you can practice one technique at a time without having to complete a painting.

So happy that you are making tutorials of these paintings. They are most helpful. I learn so much and then can apply what I learn to my own paintings, but I also have a beautiful painting based on your tutorial. I am also learning how to take pictures of flowers to have details and shadows…

Margret Martin

Excited to see the new tutorials you have planned, especially the cow paintings. 💗

Carol Thurston

You are a wonderful instructor! Doing a tutorial from you is therapy for me, Louise. Excited about the duck and line and wash going forward.

Diane Shields

I’m looking forward to all these! Your teaching style is really helping me learn.

Diane Shields

Oops! wasnt finished with the post and tapped the return! I’m just a beginner and your teaching is helping me learn more than anyone else before. Thank you for all the work you do

Diane Shields

One more thing- I’m having trouble with my brushes- the points just aren’t cooperating and it’s very hard to get consistent results. I’m ready to just order some Davinci Maestro brushes but am wondering if you’ve yet found the Colineo or Cosmotop synthetics comparable?

Louise De Masi

Thank you very much Diane. I'm so happy that are you are learning! I'm trying the Colineos and Casaneos out because I want to move to a vegan alternative. It's not easy though because the Maestros really are the best brush I have ever used. The Colineos and Casaneos are both good quality synthetics and I'm happy with them so far. I haven't used the cosmotops for years. I hade a few liner cosmotops if I recall but I don't think I've used the larger size cosmotops.

Anna Hamilton

Just cannot manage water so really, really looking forward to the ‘Cow in Water’ tutorial. Very exciting!

Josephine Grimwood

Wow you have been working hard I can't wait for these tutorials especially the cow in water

Mercedes

Hello Louise, I´m glad to know that in a short time, we are going to receive more tutorials and learn different technics, how to paint water or a landscape is also very interesting for me. Thanks a lot

Natalie Hughes

Oh my goodness! Yay! Ever since I saw the header changed to the cow, I was hoping for the tutorial. I have a friend who loves cows and this would make a wonderful painting for her. Will be a challenge for me, while not a beginner per say, I'm not advanced either and only just intermediate, but look forward to the challenge. Also look forward to the pen and wash ones, as I've never done a landscape in watercolour. Thank you Louise, for all the work you do in teaching us how to do all these wonderful subjects <3.

Jackie Keiers

Thank you for the upcoming tutorials. I find it comforting to see your studio as a work space…the dirty water, towels, brushes and everything all around. It looks like my little spot in my bedroom and makes me feel normal! 😊😊😊😊

Debra Drew

I am so excited about the Guinea Fowl, they are so unusual looking. We have quite a few working our vineyard, they eat all the insects. They are really beautiful birds. Thanks Louise.

Andrea Paulis

I was wondering about that cow ...glad to see all the wonderful tutorials upcoming. I am in love with the Guinea Fowl. My favorite bird work of yours since the raven portrait. I find him beautiful.

Sharon

I'm really looking forward to the technique tutorial/video's. To me, it's all about the technique!! I'm enjoying all your work Louise and I'm learning so much as well as gaining confidence in myself too. :)

Diane Shields

Thank you! I think I will order a 3 and a 5 and put the others on my wish list for Christmas, etc. I have an Escoda Reserva kolinsky in a 6 and it's the one I reach for first, but the belly isn't as large as the Maestro and it does do the job but doesn't hold enough paint for me. I also have 4 Escoda Versatil brushes but the points don't perform well and they don't hold enough paint either. I've always ascribed to the theory of "get the best tools you can afford to accomplish the task". Sounds like it's time for the Maestro.

Deb Leser

The little house and lighthouse are the kind of thing I enjoy right now. I am looking forward to them.

LeAnn Newton

Lynn Jones

HI Louise, I'm new here but not new to you. I have watched you so many times on U tube. Your painting style is very much like mine although yours is better! I have just finished the pelican and loved the detail that you go into in your classes. I have to tell you that on your U Tube videos I look forward to the bloopers at the end. You can really manipulate your eyes! Lol. Love the acent too. This is a hello from Canada. Your amazing!

Basia

Always great to hear what you are painting at the moment & very much looking forward to doing the tutorials 👍

Cindy Wilson

Spring is coming! We already have heaps of blossoms popping out so maybe some spring themed things please. I am about to try the flamingo again as my first attempt with my paper warped really badly and caused a lot of issues trying to paint on it. I do love these tutorials :)

Jackie

Joined your patreon and the first thing I try is the zebra you make it look so easy, I’ve watched all of your videos and thought I was ready time to take a step back 😂

Louise De Masi

Thank you Cindy. Have you tried stretching your paper before you paint on it?

Bindis mom

Good morning all from the beautiful So.West high desert of California. So glad to be here and so very proud to be a member of this lovely group. The first time I saw Louise paint I was mesmerized and it hasn’t gone away. I look forward to learning something new with each tutorial. 🤗👍💖

Louise De Masi

Thank you Kristen and thank you for the suggestion. 💖

Elena

Thank you Louise , I'm Elena from Italy , I'm at the 1st step and I hope that yours tutorials help me to improve my technique , you are a good teacher and I make a lot of mistakes but i'm sure those needed too. 😉

Louise De Masi

Thanks very much Elena. Yes mistakes are all part of learning. 💕

Debra

You. Are. Wonderful.. Thank you for being so generous with your time! I have done a few of the beginner tutorials and cannot believe the "simple'" comments that make all the difference in my results; ('focus on the line edge that you are painting on", "test the thickness or value of your paint before applying", "if the brush is too wet, dab the part closest to the ferrule to remove water--not pigment")....these are insights that make a tremendous difference to my results!! Deb

Sue

Thank you! I'm so excited to dive in!!!

Belinda Henman

Hello I am a fan of your beautiful watercolour paintings and I only wish to be half as good one day. My best work was following your tutorials and I am ead

Angela

Hello, I have just joined Patreon and I am looking forward to learning the watercolour techniques used in the tutorials. Living on the other side of the world from you, Louise, I am hoping to learn the techniques and use them on birds I see around me here in England.

Louise De Masi

Hi Angela! I'm sure you'll be painting some English birds in no time. ❤️
