Hi everyone,

Here's a quick beginner friendly tutorial.

In this tutorial we will use some masking fluid to protect the back edge of the duck while we paint a loose background. We'll use a limited palette of four colours. There's a small amount of colour mixing involved and we'll use both the wet on wet and wet on dry techniques. It's good practice and lots of fun.

All of the files you need to complete the painting, including 6 progress photos are attached below my message here.

I hope you enjoy it.

Louise

Hi Louise, have just finished this and I am delighted with the outcome. Love the colours. I used salt on the background and it made some really pretty effects. Thank You

That's wonderful Yvonne! I'm so pleased. That's great that you experimented with salt as well.

Hi Louise thank you for the duck tutorial. It was a wonderful relaxing paint. I was just wondering if you could explain discord a little more. I have the app but it says we need your name and your 4 digit number I would love to join you and our other painting friends.

This was my first attempt since joining your Patreon site and it was most successful (not yours, but close). I also learned so much! Letting that background fade out with no hard line...as well as the shadow on the duck. Thank you!
