Paul Yellovich and I will be doing another Tear Them Apart Podcast livecast this Sunday, discussing the horror films we watched in 2025. Or at least the ones we can remember. I watched four Final Destination movies, I know that happened. Rewatched a lot of things late in the year. Anyway, we'll talk and maybe Winky will show up.

P.S. I have a new webcam! The excitment, it burns!
It looks like the NERD INFERNO omnibus will be bumped back a week to April 28th. The printer sent Dark Horse a heads up that there was some kind of slight delay. The shipping date will be adjusted as soon as everything is worked out. This will obviously affect my planned signing at JHU Comics, it looks like the plan is to have me there for Free Comic Book Day in early May.
Another NYC shop asked about doing a signing but I haven't heard back from them on it. If they get back to me I'll get back to you about it. I'll likely be going back to the New Dorp Con here on Staten island this year. I've been asked to do another small NYC con in May. I don't know how my schedule is playing out so nothing is set in stone right now, especially with the book delay. Hopefully it's only going to have that one-week bump.
Some PR stuff starting to happen for the Nerd Inferno. Hopefully some online nerd sites will give the book some attention when Dark Horse starts putting feelers out. I haven't had any mainstream notices on anything of mine since the first Beasts of Burden collection in 2010 or so, but I'm not losing any sleep over that kind of thing anymore. You get used to it. I'm just happy there's a new book happening and the material will be available again.
I'm usually not one to push anything Amazon here, and I don't usually ask for anyone to leave ratings for my books, but if anyone wanted to drop a rating on the BEASTS OF BURDEN OMNIBUS on the site I'd certainly appreciate it. I'm hoping to get it creeped up to 50 ratings: https://tinyurl.com/2x75yzef
The first CATACOMB OF TORMENT trade collection is scheduled for June from Oni Press. It will have the "Red Blend" story by me and Lukas Ketner.
My third story for Catacomb of Torment hasd been revised and approved by Oni and EC. No schedule on that one yet, it will likely land in the tail end of the run. Oni seems to be running these anthologies for 12 issues or so, then launching or relaunching similar titles. I've got an open invitation to pitch more stories, and I have a few I'd like to send their way, but I'm taking a break from paying work for a while to catch up on things I owe folks. And then, hopefully, get back on Beasts of Burden. I ain't getting any younger. I'll be working on some new drawings to sell to have some money coming in. That's the plan.
Got ghosted by a potential client that approached me about a collaboration. Always annoying. I don't need the work but it sounded cool. I'm waiting for someone else to get back to me about a collaboration project. This one would be way cooler is it actually happens. I hope it happens. Turned down a one-page comic art gig because I didn't like the script, it sounded like a dull chore to work on. Also, the publisher recently did something that sucked, so, that didn't help tip the balance in favor of doing it.
I managed to set up my new printer all by myself. This is a big deal for me, even though I know a five year old could do it. Remember, though, that I am a bit of an infant.
I ordered a new lamp for my drawing table. The one I have broke a while back so the actual lamp can't be adjusted. It just dangles on a wire from the arm. I'm looking forward to having a new lamp, I went for something that was on sale at an art supply site rather than another Target lamp. Both Target lamps broke within a year (also, I'm avoiding Target these days). It's easier to just buy the cheap lamp than look into stuff and make a decision. I'm trying to get better at spending time looking into stuff and making decisions. I know that might sound weird but any of you who has similar anxiety issues might be nodding right now. My next "tests" will (hopefully) be buying a new pair of shoes (I haven't bought a new pair since the 90s) and ordering food from a restaurant that doesn't have a drive-through. We'll see how that goes. Like I said, I'm not getting any younger, and being stymied by things that are supposed to be everyday events is incredibly frustrating. I wasn't always like this.
Maybe I'll make some comics about this stuff someday.
If anyone has a copy of FACE MEAT from the Smudge manga line that they don't want, I'd be interested in trading or whatever for it. I've been collecting the Smudge releases and that one slipped through.
In the meantime, time for my Meloxicam and maybe something to eat. I'm feeling a lot better after my fall but I'm still getting headaches and I still have some extra pain in my right arm/hand. I've been drawing a little bit since yesterday to get my hand back up to "speed". It's going okay. My lamp's supposed to show up on Friday along with some basic art supplies I've needed and I'm looking forward to getting things set up and getting back to the drawing board. My computer, scanner and printer are all working well. Most of my art supplies are up to snuff or were recently replaced. I just need a new set of rapidographs, the last thing that really needs updating. But otherwise, it's a fresh start. Here's to hoping and trying!
Forget the gambling, lady! Get them there comical books!
