Lux's Goodie Bag Remake Poll! (Burnt Scrimblo / Scrimbrulee)
- Turn Goodie Bag into a Datapack (can be used in both vanilla and modded worlds) 1
- Turn Goodie Bag into a Mod (allows for more possiblities) 17
- I don't have a preference. 4
Heyo! Hope you're all having a good day! I have come clean to yall,
I haven't thought of Goodie Bag (my old resourcepack) for a hot second. I initially made it as I wanted to do my own take on a few of my friends public weapon mods. But:
Most of the re-textures I made for it, ended up being added into the actual mods themselves. (ex: Arsenal's Clownscythe, or Amarite's... Amarite Longsword).
And a few of the other things I added, I've wanted to remove for a while anyways (like the music disc that references an artist I no longer want to endorse/be associated with in any way).
Because of this, the only things remaining within it that i find worth keeping are the custom paintings (+ one or two misc re-textures like the "Noxalamander")
These paintings could just as easily be part of either a datapack or mod. so I want to see if gauge everyone's preference for what i should pick.
Benefits of a Datapack:
Unlike a resource-pack, no need to replace pre-existing paintings/music discs.
Can be used in both Vanilla and Modded worlds.
Cons of a datapack:
A bit more limited than a mod (no adding new blocks, mobs etc.)
This doesn't really matter thattt much for a pack like this, but it sets the ceiling for anything I'd add in the future to it.
Benefits of a Mod:
Also like a datapack, no need to replace pre-existing paintings/music discs.
Can become a general "miscellaneous" additions collection for stuff that i cannot find room in other mods to add, or couldn't add in a datapack.
This wouldn't include serious/actually useful survival gameplay changes/additions, just silly stuff. (ex: Lux Plushie blocks).
Cons of a mod:
A bit harder to maintain.
