First of all, thank you all so much for your support on the decomp. This is something I've wanted to do for years and I'm blown away by the amount of enthusiasm and excitement for it.

As such, I wanted to release a few more tidbits about ISLE.EXE that I omitted from the final video because I thought they were too minor to be interesting (or that I'd elaborate on them later). However, seeing how much interest there is has encouraged me to release them as a quick Patreon/member-exclusive bonus video. I hope you find these a little interesting, and I'll see you all in part 2!

It's definitely too minor for the main video, but I'm super intrigued to see all the little details. Can't wait to see what the decompilation will bring in the future!

YES. This is the stuff I love, have a good day

that’s so interesting that the game requires 8 or 16 bit display color. I wonder why they hardcoded out 32 bit color? I wonder what kinds of strange unforeseen issues might occur when you allow it to render in 32 bit mode

Angel Bouklis

I don't have any context other than the video above, but I'd assume the devs just did not account for 32bit mode.

To be fair, the most popular 3D cards at the time (3Dfx) didn't support 32-bit colors at all

really interesting stuff, maybe if the decomp finishes someone could make a version of the game that fixes all of its compatibility bugs, turn speed issue, etc.
