Hey Patrons,

We are half way through 2025 so what better time to chat about what you can expect for the rest of the calendar year. We're starting to get a lot of these post-production edits out the door and have most of the next six months scheduled. Exciting times!

For those of you with BUSY SUMMER DAYS, here are the chapters:

0:00 - Intro1:03 - Thank You7:39 - [clip] Battlefield 3 Feature8:45 - 2025 Documentary Schedule 17:55 - [clip] How Games Are Made - Trees19:23 - Patron Content / Conventions21:56 - The Two Channels

And for those of you wondering about the Quake 3 / QuakeCon video, I'm aiming to get that out in the next few weeks but it maaaaay be on the other channel as a video essay. I'm not quite sure it cuts the mustard as a development doc or a proper QuakeCon doc. But there's a lot of cool stuff in there. Working on it now.

If you have any thoughts, comments or concerns please stick them in the comments.

Thanks again for all your support, projects this big are only possible due to you continued help. We really appreciate it and hope you enjoy all these big docs over the coming months.

Danny

So glad you got time to take it easy with your family Danny and best wishes for the rest of the year, I'll be continuing to support what you guys are doing as I enjoy it a lot ♥️

Happy that had a nice vacation! It feels very good to know you are taking care of yourself. Happy to contribute to a sustainable NoClip

Good to see everything going so well and you being happy with the current state of noclip. I'm greatly enjoying the crew videos as well so glad it's getting it's own place. I'll see whether I can support there too if possible.

Mark van Dijken

Ok got to the coming half year part and it's actually such a stacked lineup of cool documentaries, I'm very excited!

Thanks for the update Danny, lots of exciting things on the go! Really glad to hear you got some time off with the family, no guilt required.

Hey Danny/Noclip crew, in case this helps: just wanted to say that the Wipeout 2097 is my favourite Noclip doc you've done recently. I'm really not a music person at all, but it has such a strong sense of time and place, it feels like historical "scene" reporting, kind of magic. I've re-watched it a bunch of times, and every time I'm sad it's over so soon. I easily could've hung out in that world an hour or so longer if you guys would've gone for a more expanded doc. Which makes me think your instinct to really dig into a subject and do additional interviews for something like that for the Noclip documentary channel is the right one. Ok, 2 cents, deposited. Thanks for all the content and can't wait to see what you guys do next!

Much appreciated update Danny, I’m thrilled to hear you enjoyed your time away getting to make some memories with the fam. Always put your health and wellbeing first my friend, without you and the lads, NoClip just wouldn’t be what it is 🤌 I have lots of thoughts around the questions you posed concerning the model of no clip vs the second channel, but I think I’ll drop those in the discord as to not gum up the comments section. Take care and I’m super excited for the new docs coming!

Jazz Jackrabbit

I pretty much agree with you on the main channel vs second channel stuff. NoClip for the "mainline" highly produced/big project documentaries and then the second channel for pretty much everything else. Question: Any news or updates on the archive channel/tapes?

Marc Burrage

Great update Danny - really like the idea of making Noclip just about the “premium content” and using the second channel for everything else. Seems a solid simple focus. As ever thank you to you and the crew for all your hard work. Love it

Thanks Danny! Some reactions: -Don't feel guilty for taking a few weeks of leave, literally most jobs have that in some form or other, so you can assume most of your patrons enjoy the same privilege. -Totally support splitting the main noclip prestige content from other content. I love Hbomb and Tim Rogers so if you're moving even further than you already achieve in that direction, I'm thrilled. -Main concern or question is how exactly it "frees up" noclip in terms of workload, when you just said in this vid that you'll be embracing yourself being the workflow bottleneck. Maybe the idea is that second channel content can be less dependent on you if it doesn't need to meet the main-channel standard of consistency or quality and therefore can be 95% done by others? Or maybe solving the workload problem isn't a goal for this change? To be clear, I'm fine with the current pace of noclip content, it's just that you mention concerns about the pace a couple of times in this vid. -Finally, OMG STAR WARS GALAXIES JEDI. You mad lads actually did it. Love you forever.

Hi Danny, the Bill of Human Rights proclaims that every individual has a right to PTO! I don't think anyone who supports you expects you to work 24/7 or relishes the idea of you never having a vacation. I know you'll probably feel guilty anyway, but I hope that thought pops into your head second. Also, as with other supporters, I think your idea to split the 2 channels into "mainline Noclip" and "everything else" is great. In my head that's kind of what it's always been anyway, as someone who goes between the podcast and the documentaries.

Thanks so much for the comment. I think the main concern is very valid and what I can tell you is that doing this will mean I'll be doing less Secret Tape white-label stuff. Last year a lot more of my time was taken up with those projects than I anticipated. I'm just finishing the final one of those now. So this will be pulling my time from that as I'd rather work on extra Noclip stuff I like than add 4 white label jobs like last year.

Yea we'll have an update on that next month. My wife is taking over the process because I was lagging so much. Aiming to get a chunk up before PAX West at the end of next month.

Reflecting on NoClip CrewCast as a Secret Tape project makes me feel as though this second channel is a way to capture and explore the artistic output and inspirations of you, the J Boyz and Frank-senpai in a more deliberate way. NoClip for me was about creating an evergreen archive of games, but the output of the outfit has equal creative merit equal to what it documents. unintentionally or otherwise, the media now considered Secret Tape has instead documented the creative processat NoClip crew itself and what influences each one of you. Meta game sounds like a fun alternative for Secret Tape, but I like making up terrible names. Sorry if it's a ramble. Love the videos. Hope Gerstmann comes on sooner than later, he must get lonely talking to a monitor for three hours every week.

You have to come to Melbourne Danny, you know you have to. Albert Park is just there! And it would be great to catch-up over a beer and talk games, F1 and possibly rugby.
