Hey Patrons!

After months of work from the entire team we have finished our documentary on the PlayStation 5 remake of Demon's Souls. For years we've been asked my our patrons to cover the work of FROM Software and while that door has never opened when the opportunity to talk to the incredibly talented people at Bluepoint Games appeared I jumped at it.

This documentary covers dozens of aspects of the (re)design of this game. From art direction to animation, physics, rendering, player expectation and much more. We dive into the design of the different bosses, the look and feel of each area, the elements that needed to be updated and the parts that were left the same.

Thank you for supporting our work. Our increased funding allowed us to take time on this project. Both Jeremy and myself toiled on the edit and Frank captured around 50 hours of gameplay I believe. It's been a real team effort and this is all possible thanks to your patronage.

Let us know what you think.

Umbasa.

Ah crap, I didn’t see it was early access on Friday. 😂 You guys are seriously the best though, thank you. Please never stop until you’ve made so much money you can pay someone else to take over in 20 years.

Great piece! As a gamedev, I love it when you can peel off the curtain on the technical aspects of how these massive projects are made. Thanks so much for your work, Danny

Excellent job as always!! Really got us through the process of the team trying to make the game be "exactly as the old one but not at all the same"! I have to admit, I really miss the pre-pandemic face to face interviews inside the studios, you know, in front of people's desks etc. However, you have managed to make it work just as well with the remote interviews. Awesome job! Really glad to support you all!

I saw the alert come through when it got posted yesterday morning, but I couldn't watch it until that evening as I wanted to watch it on the big screen. Guys, I have to admit I only have one complaint. I just wish there was more! Honestly, you guys knocked it out of the park. I'm not sure if Dishonored or Demon's Souls is your best work, but you either tied your best or succeeded it. Fantastic work! Its evident that you poured yourselves into this one, and I thank you for that effort. The game itself is a love letter to From Software's original work, and your documentary is then a love letter to Bluepoint's work. Absolutely fantastic job!

Don't even own a PS5 (Xbox lad) but will watch this as soon as i have an hour spare. Danny does such a great job with these docs, they're fascinating...giving the designers such worthy screentime and so well put together. Gladly support a fellow paddy 🇮🇪 keep up the good work 💪

I really enjoyed having the gameplay showing all the time with the interviews playing as audio. An improvement to this style that I would appreciate, would be to have the speaker's name and role displayed on screen. Great work!
