Hey Patrons,

In this month's Edit Club I take a look at how myself and Jeremy used gameplay in the Demon's Souls documentary. In the first half I talk about the structure of the documentaries opening and how we tried to use all the ingredients at our disposal to create variety. While the second half concerns itself with trying to create comfortable pacing by playing around with gameplay and game audio.

This project was a lot of fun to work on so it's been fun to jump back into the project. Like I said it was a real team effort and by looking at the final timeline you can probably see that!

If you have any questions please stick them in the comments and I'll answer as best I can!

I hope you enjoy the show!

Danny

When legacy titles are inevitably deprecated, if you consider pivoting credits over to an After Effects comp, there is some pretty simple scripting that can automatically scroll a text layer so that it perfectly scrolls for the length of the composition. Then all you would need to do is copy/paste patron names, and set the composition length to whatever you're trying to hit in the edit. You can also build in variables, in case you want the flexibility to easily adjust certain positioning or whatever. AE is also more stable and much more pleasant to design in imo. :D Just so you know, there are good alternatives to accomplish that task!
