Put an engine from your favorite mod into a stock D-Series. Take a vanilla BeamNG engine and drop it into another vanilla car OR a mod car.

The cars and engines that come with BeamNG now work alongside your car mods and engine packs, giving you more combinations to build, tune and drive.

What’s new

-Vanilla cars can use engines from car mods and engine packs.

-Modded cars can use vanilla engines.

-Vanilla-to-vanilla and mod-to-mod swaps are supported too.

-ZIPs AND unpacked mods are now scanned, including them in the catalog.

-Automatic Steam game-folder detection (for vanilla compatability) including installations on another drive.

-Clearer scan progress, improved conflict reporting and a cleaner interface.

What actually swaps?

The engine brings its power, torque, engine and exhaust sounds, and available ECU, turbo, intake and internal tuning options.

Visual engine-model swapping is planned for 1.1.

Installation and updating

1. Close BeamNG.

2. Extract the attached download into a new folder outside your mods folder.

3. Run START.cmd. Python 3.10 or newer needed. (watch video for easy tutorial)

4. Select your active BeamNG mods folder. If necessary, find it through Pause→ Mods → Mod Manager → Open Mod Folder.

5. Click Scan mods, then Build compatibility ZIP.

6. Click save and youre done!

In game, open Parts → Engine, select Engine catalog – Every Engine Every Car, then expand Engine catalog to choose your engine.

Whats coming next?

One-click compatibility updates: install new mods normally, reopen the tool and hit Scan for new—without repeating the full setup.

FULL BeamMP support: testing what’s needed to bring your engine swaps into multiplayer with friends easily, although it currently does work

Visual engine swaps in 1.1: bringing the swapped engine’s actual model under the hood

Automation vehicle support: working toward compatibility with cars exported from Automation.

Patreon account verification: making access to the tool more straightforward for active supporters, so the supporters can enjoy and pirates cant.

Broader compatibility and faster builds: expanding support for different engine definitions, improving conflict handling and addressing problems you report.
