I’ve been building something I’ve wanted to play for a long time: a Minecraft mod where becoming a Lantern means more than putting on a colored ring... LANTERNS lets you create your own constructs, summon enormous tools, take flight and explore beyond your home world.

Want a floating giant pickaxe that mines a 5×5 area? A custom construct you designed yourself? Create a Backup that you can question / bind to the ring and other players can find!? That’s the kind of experience, I’m aiming to build.

WHAT’S PLAYABLE RIGHT NOW

• Custom constructs — Design and save your own creations in "The Mind", including structures, weapons and rideable constructs (W.I.P).

• Handheld and giant tools — Summon "familiar" Minecraft tools, with larger versions floating beside you with unique properties.

• Ring-powered flight — Hover, accelerate, dive and dodge.

• Space exploration — Use the Galaxy Atlas to discover planets and moons, visit their surfaces and build. (W.I.P)

• Lantern encounters — Experience different recruitment events and discover rings through progression and exploration. (W.I.P)

• The Echo — Create a companion you can talk to and command to follow, guard or collect materials.

• Corps assignments — Visit Oa, meet named characters and take on the playable Aster Vale relief request. (W.I.P)

• Your Lantern’s appearance — Wear the Green Lantern Outfit and customize your ring’s presentation.

THE LATEST UPDATENOTES: Alpha.16 adds unique designs for ALL Lantern Rings & Lantern's themselves, based off Comics / LANTERNS & my own take on each design (till we see more in the future)... We have also started to add some unique alien designs in & reworking Space to have it feel + visually look more unique then my other mods.

BEFORE YOU PLAY

This is an alpha. Expect rough edges, and back up your worlds before updating.

The alien system and broader Corps content are still being developed. Hope recruitment remains in development, and Life is currently command-only.

Requires Minecraft Java 1.20.1, Forge 47.4.10 and Java 17.

No additional mods are required.

Could you make a curios compat to put the ring on a ring slot and actually have it on your hand instead of main/off hand if youd prefer it?

Cool suggestions from a cool guy (me): 1. add the feature to ward off a red lanturn ring that chose you by charging your current ring. 2. Charging the ring should recite your oath but if you recite it line by line in chat then you get a temp boost in your rings emotion. 3. Killing enermies when you are on low health should imrove your will and hope. 4. Bringing something to low health and then letting it live should increase your fear. 5. Kiss me. 6. You should be able to make a custom oath but it has to be the same amount of lines as your orginal oath.

I love the mod, by far the best green lantern mod, but has anyone been able to obtain the will ring on survival or is it not added yet? Because my will seems to go down after 25 %

love the mod... some quick suggestions/ideas 1. make the ring slightly smaller and the beam slightly bigger 2. make the suit either a curios slot or a projection? i might be wrong but it doesn't seem to add any armor? 3. buff the health a little bit and add a protective force field to add more temporary armor and absorption I absolutely love the work you are doing with the mod and very excited to see what you have up next for it. i just hope you buff the lanterns so a player can survive a heavy moded survival as a lantern. Thank You for the hard work!

loving the mod so far, one suggestion would be custom constructs that can deal physical damage. or be pushed forward like a physical projectile to make the combat a bit more interesting.

Another thing as i mess around with the lantern.. maybe a construction that allows you to breath in water Ex scuba gear or a face mask? Or simply while you have the glow you can breath under water but make it something you have to learn as you play?

Can someone help me out? I keep trying to download by clicking on the Google Drive link and when I download from there it just opens a .jar file with just text in it. Really confused rn

I think this is so cool dude. It's got so much potential, and something I really hope you'd consider is how you could make this compatible with other mods. The Create mod would go crazy if it were compatible with your complex construct mode, and it would be so cool if something like the Minecraft Comes Alive mod could be compatible (gain points in love if you fall in love, gain anger if your family dies, hell that could even be a cool way to get the blue lantern by rejecting the rage at that moment). Anyways, this is amazing. Can't wait to see where it goes!

open files then move the jar file to the homescreen then open cursedforge and make a new profile that meets the version requirements then press the 3 dots in top right go to mods tab and drag the jar file into it

anyone know how to get fear to stop decreasing randomly when exploring dark places? cause itll go up stop then start going down so i move to a new cave system or section of the cave keeps going down to a point where fear just isnt worth going for

Found a bug! pressing V enters you into creative flight even without a ring! even worse it lets you go to space without a ring in survival without cheats

I think it would be cool if you could add the option to use your mic for something like reciting the oath to charge the lantern similar to how the Light Super Hero Mod did it.

Both vAlpha.16 and vAlpha.14 are broken. The code uses 1.21 mappings (ResourceLocation.fromNamespaceAndPath), which causes a NoSuchMethodError on 1.20.1. But launching on 1.21 blocks the game because the mods.toml still strictly requires Forge 47 and MC 1.20.1
