I've always have a problem with the skin shaders I've bought. The look is good, but they all have a tons of limitations. That's why with the Lola my focus has been creating a darn good skin shader, and it's REALLY complex!

None of the available shaders are "okeish" when it comes down to liquids like oil or water. So, I rolled my sleeves and thought to give it a try. So far I've tackled everything else but the oiled surface without other normal maps effecting to it, meaning; If your skin has wrinkles, and you pour oil on top, the oiled part is just super smooth without the skin normals.

This is why I'm writing my own skin shader, capable of handling liquid on the skin, giving it a smooth oily look while the rest of the skin is as it is without the oil/water. Title image, my first tests, way beyond now!

That looks wet with oil to me. So thumbs up!

Unity 2022

Yep, Unity 2022. I kinda hate the way the lights/shadows are used, as they are really primitive. So I started to write my own shaders to tackle the engine problems, and the skin is my 3rd own shader from the scratch. Two first ones were made to tackle the light/shadow behavior and compensate the shitty default outcome.
