Dylan, I have bad news 😔 Echo, the dog who played Nellie died this week. It's so sad 😢 Watching this with you will cheer me up!! I'm bisexual and I probably knew from around age 9 or 10 although I didn't know the name for it. Love ya 💜

Timothy Alberts

Always knew. When I was a kindergartener, I would visit all the hot dads in the neighborhood and hang out on their front porches with them. I can't imagine what they thought! This was the mid 1950's, btw. So you are a gold star gay?

Mitch Nawojczyk

2 things... 1. I always knew despite my attempts to date girls (like I thought I was supposed to do). 2. The guy on the computer talking about being bi-sexual is Courtney Jai, who is also a reactor on Patreon. He is a cool guy, like you. https://www.patreon.com/cw/courtney_jai95

I didn't know when I was young. It wasn't until middle school that I developed my first crush, but I didn't know that's what it was at the time. The crush was on a guy I was super envious of and really wanted to be, so I started associating both of those feelings together. Every guy I had a crush on after that just had me thinking I was super jealous or envious. I've done things with girls, but I never had those feelings toward them. I was just doing what was expected of me. It wasn't until I was 18 and moved far away from everything I knew that I finally had the epiphany that I was gay. After that, I started remembering events from my past in a whole new light because it explained so much.

Thanks for posting new reactions. The videos Nick watches about bisexuality is a real YouTuber.

For me it was definitely around puberty when I knew, before then I had no inkling. I can still remember the moment, I was watching a commercial and this man in short shorts was running along the beach and I felt something change within me.

I fall into the always knew on some level. Didn’t understand why I got mad crushes on my guy friends in elementary school. Never felt attraction to any girls. Still succumbed to social pressure and made lame attempts to date a couple in my teens. Thankfully the girlfriends stayed platonic since my erotic feelings were and are exclusively male. Finally accepted the inevitable towards the end of high school so got to bust out of the closet once away at college.

emerraldx

yeah, imagine my surprise seeing one of my favorite Heated Rivalry reactors on this show 🙀

LOL, well I’m platinum gay so I always knew 🤣 Not that that means anything to me anymore, I think that the need to label/define yourself tends to be more important when you’re younger and there comes a point in life where these labels are meaningless (or less important)

Patreon has betrayed me. No proper notification for this. Timothee is not the celebrity for me either. Lebians have an odd position where they get alternately desexualized and hypersexualized, and then sometimes just ignored and dismissed. Largely its a patriarchy thing. As objects of the male gaze they get hypersexualized, but as fully realized independent people they get desexualized because you know, there's no man so it doesn't count (for some weird thought patterns anyway). I had clues i was gay from around age 9 or so, increasingly obvious as i grew up, but successfully lived in denial until I was 17.

It was a weird feeling having watched this series, the much later i saw Courtney Jai's Heated Rivalry reactions, and the finally i watched this back and thought ooo you got included here. Thats great. Deja vu and appreciation of him getting recognition all wrapped up.

Sexuality doesn't have to be fixed, and neither does our understanding of our sexuality. If bisexual is a best guess, and is later revised, that doesn't mean the original label is dishonest or even necessarily inaccurate. There are some unfortunate processes as well that sometimes drive bisexual people to over time identify as gay or straight. Though that has thankfully receded somewhat since my early queer years.

@baydreamer

I'm straight. Loved boys since 5th grade. Never had any confusion. It's always been boys for me.

emerraldx

I think Courtney experienced some of the same HR copyright strike problems that Dylan got into as well but had a more established channel and found his way around some it, might be a good resource on how to continue in this vein on YT if doing more reacts there

Andre

I feel like I always knew I was gay. I didn’t know the implications but I knew I was different from around age six. Other people started calling me gay in first grade and I had to ask someone what “gay” meant. I started trying to hide it from then on and tried to “pray the gay away” until age 17.

Joshua Rodman

Oh no, I'm so sorry someone told you to pray for that.

Steven Jump

I like Courtney but he doesn't react to shows and movies enough to warrant paying for his Patreon.

In the UK, kindergarten is counted as year 1. So their year 10 is 9th grade in the US. I don't think they use the whole freshman, sophomore, junior, senior terminology, except for freshman. And year 12 and 13 together are sometimes called "6th form".

gothamnightlights

Oh no, not Echo :( That is so sad. Sending you much love always

I've been very fluid as I grew older. Started liking women from the porn channel on the TV, then finally they showed a naked man and my life changed. Evolved into both, then just men. After a while of just men, it became transwomen, then transmen. Now I'm nonbinary and pansexual. So I just go with whatever happens.

This is one of my favourite episodes. The joy in charlie’s face when he realised nick told people about them voluntarily? 🥺 the whole storyline with tara and darcy, and also nick and tara? The milkshake scene? So many iconic moments. To your question: it’s a bit different for me being aromantic and asexual, because my internal feelings (of no attraction) never changed but I didn’t realise there was anything “odd” or “abnormal” about it until puberty when everyone around me suddenly started getting crushes and dating, basically overnight 😅 I thought I was either more mature than everyone else, being above it all lmao, or that I was too young and those feelings would come with time. I didn’t find the labels/start using the labels until I was 16-21. So my feelings were always there but it took a while to understand what was going on. Actually Alice Oseman was my first time ever seeing an out aroace “celebrity”, her 2020 novel “loveless” about an aroace protagonist meant SO MUCH to me, because I had never seen any aroace representation ever before coming across that book. And from there I looked up what else she’d done and came across heartstopper :)

I noticed that same point below by Mitch. Also, I agree with you on Timothee!!!

Mine was more like Nick and I think the way kit per trays it and how they wrote it was perfect!! Some of Nick's lines was exactly how I felt at his age. It took me many years and dating a lot of guys to realize I don't really like men sexually. I enjoy a beautiful man like kit Connor and Hudson Williams but no not sexually attracted to them.
