@baydreamer

Here we go! ❤️ Show is in Swedish. You want to watch it this way! The soundtrack is amazing!

@baydreamer

Something to keep in mind as you watch, this is Omar Rudberg's (Simon) first acting gig. Edvin has been acting since he was a child.

Eric is a very good brother, probably the only person who truly understands Willhelm and his situation. And kudos for clocking August so early on.

@baydreamer

Matti Bye's instrumentals are so good. And the songs are really cool. Also Omar is a popular singer/songwriter.

@baydreamer

You will find out more about Wille's sexuality in the next episode. Also, August is not queer.

You're hooked, I love it!! You should do 2 episodes at a time. I'm also glad you're watching the Swedish version w/captions. The dubbed version sucks. Now, Fellow Travelers at some point is a must!!

Can’t wait to watch this for the first time with you! :)

Fun fact, Simon’s actor Omar Rudberg is also a pop singer, he used to be in a boy band and has a solo career now - so his beautiful singing voice makes sense :) He’s also openly queer irl. Really glad you enjoyed the first episode, there’s so much going on already. I’ve watched this show I don’t even know how many times, but am so excited to rediscover it with you!

"we need to take a moment and just really be proud of me" 🙏. I am taking this moment unironically, even if i did giggle a bit.

Joshua Rodman

Unsurprisingly, the music is all or nearly all Swedish artists.

Also since you asked about alcohol laws, it’s not banned in Sweden, but you have to be 18 years old to drink alcohol and 20 years old to buy it, and it’s very strictly regulated that you can only buy from specific liquor stores - so Simon’s dad is illegally selling to underage people and also obviously not under the liquor store system

2026-09-05 23:00 Booze isn't banned in Sweden, but it's tightly age restricted. You can go to a bar and drink from 18 but can only buy hard stuff to bring home from 20 and the only legal seller is the state store. The black market for booze is largely driven by the high tax, not illegality. Thin beer is more available. But don't worry, there are Muslim majority countries you can find where booze is much tighter. May i suggest Brunei, its beautiful.

I’m so glad Young Royals won. It is one of my favourite shows and I’ve watched it several times, which I can only do if the series is worth it. Have fun 🤩

As always it is delightful to watch with you. Sending love and SWEDISH KISSES!

You can switch to dubbed English. Both the male leads speak very good English and dubbed themselves. I believe the original language is Swedish. You can always GOOGLE how to do it with Netflix.

Mark Edwards

Have lost track of how many times I’ve watched. Agree with everyone else saying to watch the original language. Tried to watch the dubbed version once and couldn’t get through even one episode.

You can watch this show in English, just need to change the show’s audio settings. The music in the soundtrack is no different and it may make it easier. I have no problem reading subtitles but I don’t need to see it in the original language if there is an option to hear in English. Literally I am fluent in two languages and understand 3 more but I don’t necessarily like to hear things in the original specially Spanish (my first language) because some films use a lot of slang and I find it distracting from the story. That being said, I love Japanese and Korean series that only have the original language, just my 2 cents. 😂

Also, you liked Omar’s singing… he’s a very famous singer in Sweden

ahh i'm so glad you're reacting to this, i loved your heated rivalry reactions! i'm also hoping that you will get into the interviews and behind the scenes stuff like you did after hr when you finish young royals. i'd love if you could react to omar's singing career as well later, he's so incredible and so underrated

gothamnightlights

I greatly appreciate you being here and watching along with me!! I would love to watch some interviews/listen to Omar’s music, that’s a great idea thank you :) Much love to you!!!!
