This Deus Ex HR Director's Cut Reshade preset should be used with Rudy ENB Series.

Preset Showcase: https://youtu.be/jgpJEiXrSc0

How to install Rudy ENB + Reshade Preset: --------------------------------

01. Download Reshade: https://reshade.me/ and run downloaded file

02. Select the game in the list (DXHRDC.exe)

03. Choose the proper rendering API (For this game select DirectX 9)

04. Select and download all effect (shader) packages

05. Important: After Reshade is installed open DeusEx HR DC root folder (where the game is installed) and rename d3d9.dll file to d3d9_reshade.dll

06. Download my Reshade Preset(s) archive(s), extract it and put extracted files (.ini file and the reshade-shaders folder) into the game root folder where the .exe file is located (overwrite if asks)

07. Download DeusEx HR DC ENB: http://enbdev.com/mod_deusexhr_v0450.htm and extract it, Copy only d3d9.dll file from WrapperVersion folder and paste into DeusEx HR DC root folder

08. Download Rudy ENB: https://www.nexusmods.com/deusexhumanrevolution/mods/19  Extract it and open [Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut] folder, Open enbseries.ini file with Notepad text editor, Delete everything above [OPTIMIZATION] line and copy/paste these 4 lines:

[PROXY]

EnableProxyLibrary=true

InitProxyFunctions=false

ProxyLibrary=d3d9_reshade.dll

Also change UsePaletteTexture=true as UsePaletteTexture=false under the [COLORCORRECTION] line

So final enbseries.ini file should look like this: check last screenshot above. Save and close file.

Now copy all files(except enbpalette) from [Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut] folder into the DeusEx HR DC root folder.

Important: ENB works only in DirectX9 mode, also we've installed reshade for DirectX9, so check ingame Display/Advanced settings and make sure that game is running in DX9 mode.

09. Check ingame Reshade interface. You should see these shaders below as active:

LUT@LUT.fx,

Lightroom@qUINT_lightroom.fx,

AmbientLight@AmbientLight.fx,

FlexibleCA@FlexibleCA.fx,

AMD FidelityFX ContrastAdaptiveSharpening@CAS.fx,

EyeAdaption@EyeAdaption.fx,

Deband@Deband.fx

If the Quick Guide does not answer all your questions you can watch step-by-step video tutorials on how to install Reshade and set up the in-game overlay, Also how to install RTGI shader and configure Depth Buffer properly here:

Reshade Installation and Setup Guide

. . .

Important: Preset was tweaked and tested in Non-HDR game/monitor mode. It may not look decent in HDR mode. So make sure the HDR mode is deactivated in your in-game Display/Graphics settings. Also disable HDR for your Monitor, or set HDR level to low and try to tweak preset using extra shaders like: LevelsPlus, PD80_03_Levels or curves by yourself.

I plan to release HDR presets separately in the future if the project runs well with your support.

Note: Some shaders may give a very subtle effect in some areas. However, they have a significant impact on other environments. So don't turn off any shaders if you want the preset to work as it should. I'll always let you know if there are optional shaders in my presets. So you can turn them off.

The same image looks different on different screens. You might need some tweaking for your monitor's brightness/gamma/contrast if Reshade differs from the showcase.

Hey, great reshade and guide! But getting some severe stutters, not sure what is the issue - using SSD, RX7800XT, 64gb ram, ryzen 7 7700x

Screenreel

Hello, Thank you! Are you getting decent FPS after applying ENB and Reshade? Performance requirements are high enough for this ENB because it is some form of RT you know. Also, the Deux EX HR DC is unstable enough for itself unfortunately. Try turning off in-game vsync and fps cap and use Nvidia control panel vsync for Deus EX HR DC.

Paul Key

When the game runs fine I get rock-solid 60 fps, with graphic driver AMD v-sync instead of in-game vsync. Probably the issue is caused by how the game itself handles shader compilation. Wish they've done a proper current gen remaster - one would hope :)

Screenreel

Maybe. I'm getting random stuttering even without ENB+Reshade in the Director's Cut version and with ENB+Reshade it's the same. I'd love to see the full remake of Deus Ex and Deus Ex HR

Hmm did a fresh install of Deus Ex HR, followed instructions to the letter, and am getting a bunch of errors. Certain effects are not loading it seems. "Compute shaders not supported for D3D9/D3D10". Other "Failed to compile" errors. Not really sure what to do next.

Screenreel

Hello, Please make screenshots (full screen) of these errors and send me (Any image host or Google Drive link). We can continue here or DM.

When in-game go to: Options>Gameplay

Enbbloom.fx and enbeffect.fx throw a bunch of compilation errors when following your instructions.

Screenreel

Hello and welcome! That may occur when Reshade attempts to load ENB effects as its own. You should reinstall the game if you have previously used any mods, ENB, or ReShade presets. Follow the guide and make sure you don't miss any steps. Don't forget you need the Director's Cut version of Deus EX: Human Revolution, not the regular version. Please DM me if you still can't fix that.
