After all those weeks on that big History video, I'm back making more reviews and starting to catch up on the latest batch of videos that have to be uploaded soon, starting with the two latest animated features that were recently released. I'll say now that I did have time to do another revision of it to make sure that all the current corrections I've done are in place. All there's left to do now with it is to wait for the other pieces to come, make one more full round of revisions and then it will be all ready for next month. But as I wait for that, I still have a whole bunch of movies both classic and new that I have to review. So, here's the first batch of those from this week.

  • Created and Released my Review of The Garfield Movie: Oddly enough, this is another case where I was more merciful to this movie than some of the other critics, because some of the reviews this movie has gotten are NASTY! They're not as ruthless as the ones for Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate, but it is shockingly close. For me, however, while I don't hate it and it does have some cute enjoyable moments from time to time, I can understand where those critics are coming from because this is a pretty generic animated film. In fact, while I was making this review, the toughest part was choosing if this movie was more of a 6/10 or a 5/10, especially when that'll play if I'll put in as either Fresh or Rotten on Rotten Tomatoes. However, I went with the latter because, as much as there are those positives, there's still so much of it that's very forgettable and clichéd that's been overdone in so many animated films in the past. I'll even say that this movie made me feel fed up with hearing Chris Pratt's voice as the star in an animated movie because that has also become a tiresome trope. The one benefit from all this is the chance to have the review done early, where I got to see it last Sunday, then got to work reviewing the feature and have it released on time for both Patreon and YouTube. I don't think it's the worst movie I've seen this year, but even as someone who was a big fan of Garfield, I don't feel interested in seeing this one again.

  • Created my Review of Thelma the Unicorn: Straight after my review of The Garfield Movie, I jumped straight into my next review that I needed ready for next week. Admittedly, I never really had high hopes for this one, especially after watching the trailer. I remember in one episode of AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast, someone in the Chat Wall called it an Illumination movie made by pre-Spider-Verse Sony Pictures Animation. I'm really hoping that this is not the case here. Otherwise, I might go after this the same way critics are doing right now with Garfield. However, I actually do know what the answer to that is. As you're reading this, I'm finishing up the video and have it set for next week. I know not many people have talked about this movie, but soon enough, you'll find out that I have so much to say about this pony pretending to be a unicorn.

And that's been my week with making two of my next reviews, with one of them already uploaded. I still have a few to make, but now that we're starting the summer season of movies, this is a little taste of what's to come because both streaming and movie have their features prepared to come out, and I'll be ready with my critiques. But for now, I'll need to prepare for some of the next reviews I'll have to work on for AniMat's Classic Reviews. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

I don’t blame you in choosing the rating for Garfield. I debated myself of what to give for Garfield before settling in with a soft rating. Also, were you able to stay for the little post credit upon sitting through the credits?
