Update Blog - 6/8/24 (Patreon)

I've been clearing out a lot of what I needed to be done so that I can prepare myself for what's to come. The next couple of new releases are just around the corner, so my big mission of this week was to make sure I got everything else finished so that I don't have to worry about them. That way, the only focus I'll need will be to make some great reviews from those movies and be set for this month. In the meantime, I'm still happy of the work I did during this week, and it won't be too long to show you what I've done.

• Released The Muppet Vlog of Jim Henson: Idea Man: Like I said before, the timing of this is too perfect for me. I just finished Animation Lookback: The Muppets about 2 months ago, and now Disney+ is coming in with their own Jim Henson documentary. Of course I gotta talk about it and bring back The Muppet Vlog (along with a cameo form Puppet AniMat), and I'll admit that this is a pretty good version of Jim Henson's story. I don't think it's great, since there are some essential parts that are missing and it does seem to try hard to portray Jim Henson as a perfect man, but it did get everything else right. There's a lot of great never-before-seen clips they show that is fascinating, it did very well to cover most of Jim Henson's life, and the stories directly from his family and friends add a very nice emotional touch. Maybe it's not the best biography of Jim Henson, but still a good one that can be a great way for people not familiar with him can watch and have a basic idea of who he is. As a Jim Henson and Muppets fan, I'm satisfied with what they've done with this piece. It's a solid documentary.

• Edited the next AniMat's Classic Reviews: There are some parts where I had to set my focus on some other errands to take care of for myself. I did have to set this one aside for a few days, but once I was able to clear my schedule, I finally got back to work on it and finished what needed to be done. It was mainly editing all the clips together to make sure that it's all ready for next week. I'll say now that, for a movie with a shorter running time, this is a case where I ended up making a pretty large review to discuss a lot about the pros and cons of it. It did help that I got some knowledge about it prior, but there's something about it that made me decide to really explore what the film did and some part where I felt like it could've done better. You'll know what I mean when I'll be releasing the review soon.

• Starting the next Upcoming Reviews: As I was finishing up those recent projects and a few other things to take care of outside of videos, the next step I took this week was to get ready with the next reviews, including Inside Out 2, Ultraman Rising and the next AniMat's Classic Reviews. I added the latter onto this as well because that'll be the next project I'll be working on as I was to fully get into the new releases. For now, what I've done is craft their intros and gather whatever clips and materials I'll need for those respective reviews. Now everything is out yet, of course, but I only gathered what I can for now to make the work easier for when I do get into them. I know we're already into the month, but I'm ready for the rest of June.

• REMINDER FOR PATRONS $50+/MONTH: This month's Discord Chat will be happening on Tuesday the 11th at 8pm EST. Let me know if you're not available for either so I'll organize a quick chat at a different time.

And that's been my week with what I've done related to my videos. I'll admit that there have been a few personal rough patches where some of that time was to also take care of myself, but I can confidently say that I've accomplished a lot and ready for what's next for me to take on. One thing's for sure, I'll have to be ready to watch a lot of movies soon! So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!
