After going through two of the most eventful weeks of my year, it honestly feels nice to be back to normal. I was able to catch up with some work and I've been getting myself back on track to get these videos prepared for you all. Of course, this includes having the review of the biggest movie of the year (so far) released, and now I'm at work on something very special. So here's what's been happening during my week.

- Released my review of The Super Mario Bros. Movie: Here's a little story about this review. Originally, I didn't think much of it and I was prepared to give the movie a simple 6/10. Believe me, I was a bit harsher on my first draft, calling the writing terrible and viewing some of the other characters miscasted like Chris Pratt. But two things happened that changed my perspective. One was the ice storm that allowed me to think more about the movie, and two was a friend's birthday party where they decided to was the movie (making it my 2nd time). After watching their reactions and discussing how they feel, on top of watching the movie without a critical eye made me realize that this movie is meant to be fun instead of being great. And in that regard, Illumination did well with that job. To this day, we still joke amongst each other with the 'Peaches' song. I don't see this being amongst my best animated films of 2023, but I still count this as one of the movies that I really liked from this year.

- Finished the Sponsored Plug for the Next Video: While I was at Walt Disney World, I received the note of what little revisions I should do for the sponsored plug that's been delaying AL: The Muppets Part 5. Originally, I used Puppet AniMat to present the product, but then they told me that they wanted myself to present it instead (they loved everything else though, it was just refilming it with me, then move all the edited stuff to the new version). This should be the last revision that needs approval before I can officially release it. Hopefully, they will approve soon because I've been getting messages that some fans are becoming restless about seeing Part 5. Shouldn't be too long now, and I can assure that the wait will be worth it.

- Working on my Vacation Vlog: While I was on my vacation, I wasn't just having fun in the rides and having some family-bonding time. I was also doing a whole lot of filming. Why? Because one goal I have for this trip was to take that entire experience and turn it into a video journal. A vacation vlog, if you will. What I'll do will be highlighting every moment that we did during our days from my perspective and I'll be using all the footage I took so it'll be like you'll be with my family on this adventure. For now, I'm writing the script for this in order to provide the narration, but I'm warning you now that this may turn out to be a big video. I thought this would be a 30-minute thing, but there's a good chance that it will grow much bigger than that. Anyways, that's what I'm currently working on, and I can't wait to bring this special project to life.

- REMINDER FOR PATRONS $50+/MONTH: This month's Discord Chat will be happening on Thursday the 20th at 8pm EST. Let me know if you're not available for either so I'll organize a quick chat at a different time.

So that was my week of finally returning to my regular routine. I know it's not as exciting as getting into one of Disney's big rides, but then again, it's always great to be back home and getting back to doing what I love. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!

At least from a visual standpoint, “Mario” is a testament to how far Illumination has come since “Despicable Me #1.”

It'd be neat to see the original draft for the Mario review.

I’m glad to hear you at least decided to give The Super Mario Bros. Movie a second chance in just simply viewing it as a casual moviegoer and discovered some more positive things from the film during the second experience than you did during the first. I know we often tend to judge movies through a critical lens, but it’s nice once and while just to simply have fun with a movie and turn your brain off. I am definitely intrigued that you’re doing a vlog post based on your vacation at Walt Disney World and it’d be fascinating to see you and your family having a fun time and see you just as yourself and not your online persona. Something else to look forward to in addition to Part 5 of Animation Lookback: The History of the Muppets Part 5.

Time and perspective can very much alter an opinion. Its a sign of a good critic.

I can’t wait! I had a good staycation to celebrate my birthday, as well, so I’m not too upset I didn’t get to go to Walt Disney World.

Can't wait for the Vacation Vlog to see what is going on at Walt Disney World. Curious to see how much has changed since I was there either 2018, 2019 maybe. As for the sponsored plug, I am curious about how it's going to turn out.
