This was not an easy week for my patience. Despite all the wait I had to do in order to release Part 5 on YouTube with all the sponsored elements intact, I had to move on and get to work on my other projects. It was annoying for me personally because I'm the kind of guy that wants to make sure something is 100% done before putting my focus onto something else, and while Part 5 remained pending, there was a part of my brain that kept telling me "We gotta upload this" as I try to keep myself productive with another video. Regardless, I still moved forward and what I'm working on is going pretty well. So here's what's been happening in my week.
- Released My Walt Disney World Adventure: This really was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. My first trip in 4 years, my first trip to WDW in over 10 years, and being with some of my family (to which 2 of them have the Disability Access System). This is most likely something that can never be recreated. That's why I planned to turn that moment into a video. Unlike many other videos I've done, I made this primarily for my family in mind. It's like an extra souvenir for them to revisit that moment of us together going through almost every ride in the parks. In fact, they were the first to see it and they adore it (and are still watching it to this day). It was also for me to create a little journal of my experience and how I felt throughout the trip. In a way, this is one of my more heartfelt videos I've done because I made it more personal and this was more for out of the love for my family. This is a true one-of-a-kind video that I don't think anyone (including myself) could recreate, and the more I think of that, the more I love this video.
- Finally Uploaded Part 5 of Animation Lookback: The Muppets: This honestly took much longer than it should, but after weeks of delays from its original scheduled release (I wanted it out by March 31), I was able to finally have Part 5 be up on YouTube. So what was all the hold up in this? Disney Emoji Blitz. Yes, I knew having Disney as a sponsor is a major opportunity, and we agreed on big deal and signed a contract back in mid-February to make it happen. However, I don't know what was happening behind the scenes, but Disney was sure taking their time with reviewing what I've made for them and sending me any extra instruction of putting up the info they need. Even the ad agency I was working with wasn't sure about what was going on and help sending them reminders. It took a while, but eventually, we got the stuff and now I can officially say that the stress is over. I didn't think this would be my issue of the month, but I'm just glad that people can watch what I've done with this part and that I can fully move on from that problem. Now all that's left is for them to pay me, but at least that won't have as much pressure.
- Working on the next Special Vlog: In the meantime of all that waiting for the one email to have the last piece of info to upload for the sponsor, along with the custom link, I moved forward to work on the other vlog I was working on. During my time of patience and had other things to do outside of videos, I was simultaneously filming and editing. This was unorthodox for me, but considering that this video has different stages, I did the filming when it calls me to do something more labor-intensive (such as building), and during the downer times when I'm more tired or when it's night, I took it easy and take what I did to edit the video together. That way, everything will be done sooner. Like the Disney World Adventure, this will be a much different video than what I normally do, but there is a good reason for it!
- Currently Working on my review of Peter Pan & Wendy: It's understandable how it's easy to forget, but yes, it's Disney Live-Action Remake time on Disney+, and now I'm preparing myself to watch their remake of Peter Pan...too bad I forgot to carry my enthusiasm. Obviously, I'm not all that excited for this one, especially when the trailer do not convince me at all that this would be worth my time and even Disney feels like they're not caring much about it since they're putting most of their marketing resources for a live-action remake on The Little Mermaid. I won't say that I'm expecting anything terrible like Pinocchio, but I'm only hoping that there can e something worthwhile in this because there is an extra challenge for this to stand out compared to every other Peter Pan adaptation. If it can stand out amongst the crowd, either in a good or bad way, then it'll at least have a purpose. However, you'll find out next week if that is the case.
So that was my wild week of trying to fill my time of waiting. Now that the month is about to be over, I never expected that this April would be so eventful (both good and bad). At least that's a good excuse to look ahead at new beginnings. I think after everything, I'm ready to start fresh and get some new stuff done. So, until next time...
See ya later, dudes!
