Update Blog - 9/16/23 (Patreon)

After my 2-week break from regular uploads to catch up from the time I lost from my surgery, I'm finally back with new videos. And, as promised, I've returned with a real big one.  I did mention before how I was worried if the timing wasn't in my favor with making this or releasing this now, especially when it hasn't even been a year since Chapek got kicked out, but considering the Walt Disney Company's business isn't doing well with all of its lawsuits and the strike making them look bad, it ended up working out in my favor. At the same time, I got another big video coming up that I've been working hard on during the week, so this is quite an example of how I've been giving it my all recently. And, with that said, here's how my week has been.

- Released the History of Bob Chapek: I've had this in production for quite some time, going as far back as late July before my surgery. In fact, I'd say this was the last major video I recorded with my tonsils. Anyways, even as far back as late last year when Bob Chapek was kicked out as CEO, I knew this would be a crazy story to cover and worth researching what lead to Disney picking that guy to be in charge, all while they try to navigate through COVID. In a way, this could be considered the spiritual successor or Animation Lookback: Walt Disney Animation Studios +, where I continue where I left off, but focusing more of the business side of Disney than its animated films. It's also worth noting that I also decided to bring in some different voices to read the quotes instead of me. While some may say they don't sound like the Bobs, they fit the type of characters that they are perfectly with Logan Miller (ToucanLDM) as Iger and Tony Goldmark as Chapek. I know there's a good chance that a video like this could end up become controversial, but even if the events are so close to today, it's a part of history that is worth examining and hopefully we get to learn from to know how bad leadership can damage even the mightiest of companies.

- Recording & Started Editing Animation Lookback: The Muppets Part 7: With that big video released, there is another one that I have in the works right now. Throughout the week, I went and did all the voiceovers and filming needed for the part. Even working with Puppet AniMat turned out to be quite easy and managed to get it done in a matter of a few takes. With those prepared, I'm right in the middle of the next step with editing. I'll admit that there is a lot that is needed to be done so far, including the hunt for specific clips I need to get my vision for the part right (not to mention waiting for the revisions from my fact checkers in case of any extras or changed that I need to put in this), but it's so far going smoothly and if I keep this steady pace well, then I should be done by next week. However, between you and me, I'm hoping that I can have this ready soon and get the time to have other videos prepared for the near future because I'm planning to have this part released in a few weeks. This is why the next projects I'll work on after this will be smaller projects like reviews and maybe some vlog-type videos.

- REMINDER FOR PATRONS $50+/MONTH: This month's Discord Chat will be happening on Thursday the 21th at 8pm EST. Let me know if you're not available for either so I'll organize a quick chat at a different time.

And that is my week of making a comeback with a new video and working on another big history-related video. I know I've been working quite a lot with these projects, but as I mentioned, once I have Part 7 prepared, I'll go a little more easy on myself and make videos that don't require as much labor on my part. However, they will still be exciting content that I know will be worth hyping for. So, until next time...

See ya later, dudes!
