Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was once one of the most anticipated horror films thanks to the first book becoming public domain. But after its release, people were not happy with Winnie the Pooh’s evil update. Let’s watch Blood and Honey and see where did it go wrong in this version of the 100-Acre Woods.

Oh Pooh bear, did you get too high with so much Honey?

Justin Monti

I honestly had absolutely no interest in watching this movie because of how the concept was so stupid, and I’m so glad I didn’t because this just sucks, the fact they would take something like Winnie the Pooh and turn it into this bland horror film is just bad, and on top of that, the fact they are even considering taking other properties that are in the public domain and turn those into horror movies, on top of also getting a sequel to Blood and Honey is insulting. Seriously these could end up so bad they could actually make the Disney live action remakes look good by comparison.

Bryce Gundy

It’s so stupid that they’re gonna be doing more of these with other Disney properties! Do you think they’ll get sued for this?!

Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey. More like Blood and Horny Jail!

Now you officially understand why many people including myself hate this movie so much. I saw it back in February when I think Fathom Events were doing some screening of Blood and Honey despite not looking forward it as I just came off at the time of watching that Grinch movie called The Mean One which they aren’t allowed to say “The Grinch” because of copyright issues. But then after watching it, it looked way waste than I thought that made The Mean One somewhat less worst because at least they are aware of that tone and try not to make it too seriously. Here though, they took it way too seriously to the point they made it just your typical generic slasher movie but with Pooh theme. I could’ve just passed this off as a generic knockout slasher film but the fact they included Pooh in it because public domain made it so much worse. I hate everything from it story, writing, directing, characters, performances, and technical elements like production values and cinematography etc because of wanting to make Pooh into horror icon for the purposes of shock values. It just made Banana Splits and Willy’s Wonderland so much better than this as they at least know the tone that the filmmakers were aware of this but here, it downright sucks. I still stand by as the worst movie of 2023 which no other bad movies that I went through throughout the year can able to achieve what Blood and Honey accomplished. If they continue to make horror themes on Winnie the Pooh through games and movies or even turn classic movies like Bambi to horror film, then count me out!

Oh boy, this “movie”. Even as a fan of horror myself, I knew this was a terrible idea to begin with and it was just going to be the “OH!! We’re gonna take a beloved copyright free IP and turn it into a slasher/horror movie!! SO EDGI!!” and I was right. I should also mention that the filmmakers are the same smooth brains who have been churning out god awful VOD slasher “movies” like Amityville Thanksgiving(yes, that’s a real title) and The Humpty Dumpty Massacre(again, this is a real title); if you want more info just check out the Cinema Snob’s Midnight Screening reviews of them because it explains so much. It’s interesting that this was released the same week as another bear related horror movie, the horror-comedy Cocaine Bear; but honestly Cocaine Bear was even more of a curiosity than this one because of the whole “based on a true story”; though the whole thing of the bear going on a Jason Vorhees style rampage wasn’t real but was though about on Reddit; and I had far more fun with Cocaine Bear because they knew how ridiculous the story was. This looks so freakin cheap I’m surprised Spirit Halloween wasn’t credited as a producer. Though I will say, if you are interested in testing the limits and you want to check out another horror movie that caught people’s attention; I would recommend Terrifier 2!

Does anyone know the piano music from the beginning?

Alan Oliva

Clearly, what I will say is more of a Rant, but despite all hurting a favorable childhood icon, I'll be straightforward to say "This is a real example of a Gimmick film" like it just slaughtered this, slaughtered that. There is no plot, no characters to route, just shocking imagery whether intentional or not it couldn't be rendered right with its bad graphics, Heck, I could even say Willy's Wonderland feels more like a masterpiece compared to this! Why Would Anyone Do THIS to Winnie The POOH is a monster in themselves. I'm Sorry but it is so obvious that he's just used as a novelty just to get viewers!

Hunter O'Laughlin

How embarrassing that frigging “Too Much Strangers” is more respectful to the Winnie the Pooh brand than “Blood & Honey”.

Hunter O'Laughlin

This seriously makes that 80s live action special “Too Smart for Strangers” from the “Welcome to Pooh Corner” series look more respectful to the Winnie the Pooh brand in comparison.

Alan Oliva

Believe or not it does, I even remember at elementary school they use "Too Smart for strangers" as a motivation video to be self aware of bullies. Yeah it's creepy but at least it does get the job done, so at least it has a reason to exist.
