The Paths (walkthroughs) of Date Ariane Remastered 2.0 (Patreon)

Yesterday I released the first beta to anyone Dater and above. It's called Beta 0.92. The main focus this week was to make new paths or walkthroughs that go to all the main places in the game.

I've been working on this game for a year now, and have been tweaking it and changing the rules along the way that I knew would affect the old paths but figured I'd be able to find paths forward anyways.

Quite a few were in fact broken, so I'd thought I'd devote my weekly post to documenting the mess and how I fixed it.

The main rule changes have to do with conversations at the beginning. The old rule was you needed to demonstrate all four personality types and then do something impressive to open up the game. That and the path help feature made the game way too easy.

First rule change: Increased needed impressions to 2. I attempted to make it 3, but found myself having to add new impression points to reach important stuff, so I lowered it back to 2.

Second I created a system of character traits based on personality points. Participation in activities in the game would require spending these traits.

Fun Loving (= Funny + Sexy ) needed mostly for Pool and Hot Tub stuff

Artistic (= Funny + Nice ) needed for Strip Club Stuff, and park photos

Romantic (= Smart + Nice ) needed for Lake Stuff and makeout foreplay

Lucky (= Smart + Sexy ) needed for Vista Stuff , public nudity

Clever (= Smart + Wit ) used in Downtown and Amusement Park Stuff

Cute (= Nice + Sexy ) Walk In while Changing, store nudity, makeout nudity

PIZZA DINNER and STEAK DINNER

These two tend to be the starts of most paths, so I diversified. If one doesn't work, the other will. Pizza has you bring a jacket, Steak has you bring a swimsuit. Pizza focuses on fun loving artistic, and cute. Steak focused on romantic lucky and clever.

TOPLESS PICNIC

This path used to be called "Things to do when you are naked part 2" felt more natural to rename it and move it up the list with all the dinner paths. It also proved useful for some later paths.

SEX ON THE COUCH

Rule changes messed this one up big time. The fix was to do some dancing and impress her there before going to the couch. I also could not figure how to unlock the lower half, only to find it was a missing kiss move. Path actually works now.

THINGS NOT TO DO IN A DRESS and THE REBECCA TRILOGY 3

Both of these having Ariane change into a black dress, and I struggled to get that to happen. Dressing in a swimsuit first seems to help, but if you swam too much, Ariane would shower and dress back in casual clothes. I debugged this for the next release, but for now don't swim until Ariane is finished.
