Taehyung’s dog Yeontan was beloved by both BTS and Army, it was heartbreaking when tae revealed he had passed away from health complications whilst Taehyung was in military, Taehyung captured Yeontan so beautifully in this album, and I think he knew about yeontans health complications and this album almost feels like a tribute to him and Yeontan as well.

BTS were actually the first Kpop group to consistently release all of the members' solos early into their careers. Kpop idols usually take a break form their group to release and promote a solo project but BTS has always had a very strong identity as a group of 7. The rappers did each release their mixtapes which are a lot more of an individual project but I guess the hip hop concept of a mixtape allowed them that outlet. As for the other members, you've seen on Map of the Soul that it had lots of solo songs so that is what they've been doing since their legendary 2016 album 'Wings'. After the Dynamite and Butter era BTS decided to strengthen their individual brand as well by finally accepting luxury solo brand deals, opening their separate Instagrams and finally each releasing their official solo stuff before enlisting

Watching people discover V’s Layover always feels so emotional to me because this album became something deeply personal for my family. My autistic nephew struggles with overwhelming moments and difficult tantrums, but somehow Taehyung’s voice and the calm warmth of these songs help soothe him in ways I can’t fully explain. The softness, the gentleness, the comfort in his music truly reaches him. My nephew’s favorite song is Winter Bear by V. And seeing Yeontan (V’s most beloved dog) throughout this era made it even more special and comforting 🥹😩💜 We really miss Yeontan so much. Thank you for reacting to this beautiful album with such openness and appreciation. It means a lot to fans like us who experienced real comfort through it. I think you guys would also really love Winter Ahead if you enjoy jazz because it has such a warm, fully jazz-inspired sound. And FRI(END)S is another gem too. I have soooo many music video ideas. When I listen to new music that I haven't seen a video for I almost always imagine a whole music video in my head, especially if the song hits me right away. Btw he brought his dog on stage in one of his performances. It was SO CUTE! Also! Kim Yeontan aka Tannie (the dog) on the album cover and in music videos was his dog who unfortunately passed away in 2024 I believe while he was in military. He adopted him back in 2017 I think (not so sure). He had a heart condition and went through multiple surgeries. He was well loved by all the BTS members and Army.

Taehyung has always felt very passionate and has been heavily inspired by R&B music and sultry jazz artists. You can tell through the tone of his music. He gives the sound a whole different vibe and meaning all together. Anything he sings always deeply resonates. I happen to love R&B and Jazz as well. So it hits pretty hard and it makes me reflect and contemplate a lot. I can feel his emotions woven tightly together in every song.

i love taes music!! it’s perfect for car drives, getting ready, and chilling by the water!! i agreee he’s so artistic and creative. the more you watch of bts you will see more of his unique personality :) i can’t wait for j-hope reaction!! i listen to him the most along with V. i recommend his music videos Mona Lisa, Sweet Dreams, Killin it Girl. He performs his whole second album Jack in the Box during his headline performance at a big Chicago festival called Lollapoolza. If you guys liked the artistic music videos, may I suggest you check out DPR +IAN. He’s not specifically K-pop, he’s more k-rnb/his own genre. He was a K-pop idol in a group called C-CLOWN back in the early debut days of BTS! He has bipolar and DID and his music videos and songs are SO FRICKING COOL. his artistry is literally insane. I’d suggest MIITO MOVIE (a medley of 4 songs)

what i love the most about taehyung is the fact that he's never afraid of taking risks because someone with HIS level of popularity would probably go with generic pop and a hardcore choreo but he chose to stay true to his artistic identity and release these jazzy songs. His discography is for music lovers only, a little masterpiece full of Art & Jazz, Sophisticated, honest and humble all at the same time. And his warm, soulful voice feels SO good.

Thank you so much for reacting to Layover. 💜🙏 The first time I heard it was really nice and chill, but I thought, "Oh, I might not listen to this album as much since it's so chill", but it was the album I ended up listening to the most alongside D-DAY. It's such a good album to play in the background when you want to relax or when you're doing a stressful task, etc. I play it all the time at work. Taehyung had a clear image for each song, and that's why he chose to film a music video for all of them. He wanted to tell a story through them, no matter how "simple" and laid back the videos ended up being.

It's so funny that you mentioned "When Life Gives You Tangerines" because Taehyung is close friends with both Park Bogum (Gwansik) & IU. Especially with Bogum, I think they have been friends for 11 years now, so it's fair to assume that he definitely watched the show himself. The other members also mentioned that they were watching or planning to watch WLGYT. It was a HUGE deal in South Korea.

Taehyung was SUUUUPER extroverted when he was younger, and he is still a social butterfly. He has so many friends everywhere, especially in the film industry. In recent years, he mentioned that his personality type changed from ENFP to INFP (meaning he became more introverted). Still, he's such a humble and approachable person that he easily makes connections, though he's a bit more closed off than in the past. He does have a unique personality, and some people at first are perplexed by it, but everyone ends up falling for his charms. He is the member who brings the most people to the fandom, and of course, a main reason is his visuals, but I would say how spontaneous & unpretentious he is is a HUGE reason people get into KPOP, and specifically BTS. 💜🙏

Taehyung adopted Yeontan (his cute Pomeranian dog) back in 2017. One of the main reasons he specifically picked him from the shelter was because Tan had severe health issues, and he wanted to give him a better life. He even had some high-risk surgeries, but in the end, he couldn't last any longer and died in 2024. Tae was in the military when that happened, and I'm sure he was devastated because he used to spoil Tannie rotten. The reason he has him as his pfp on Instagram is that he must miss him a lot. 🥹

He started with releasing soft beautiful songs like 4o'clock, scenery, winter bear, which are like the hidden treasure to me and are the main reason I fell in love with his ocean honey voice. Then he did OSTs mostly in the Kdramas his best friends actors leaded in. And he always has a surprise in Christmas times.. Taehyung is a really unique person as you already noticed, he chose Yeontan (his dog) even after learning he had health problems, he studied a lot about dogs before taking him, and fought so much to keep him in good health with his family. Yeontan was like the most famous dog of BTS before he sadly passed not long ago, he even got to be on stage with V during his Layover promotion, it's on YT. Tae wanted to make this album special with yeontan and it's definitely one of the most memorable and timeless albums. V is a very kind, humble and unconditionally loving person which is why a lot of people are drawn to him and he has MANY friends, he is called "social butterfly", and "idol of idols" for being the textbook study of new Idols, they study his performances and facial expressions on stages. He is a soft and slow talking person, he is so smart & hardworking and can ace whatever goal he puts in his head (like getting in SDT one of the hardest military units) I love all members and they're all so dear to me, but V will always have a special place in my heart, he's my first and forever bias! Reactors of BTS group only stuff sometimes underestimate how much of Taehyung exists outside the version they know from BTS. The group showcases his talent, but his solo work reveals so much of his taste, philosophy, creativity, humor, and individuality. You’re only seeing one facet of him if you stop at BTS content. To add another of his quote about Layover from a very recent 2026 Rolling Stone interview, V said, “If Layover hadn’t come out, I think V as an artist would be stuck as a hardcore singer and dancer.” One thing about V is that he refuses to be boxed in, not by genre, a certain image, a personality, or a single form of artistic expression. What Cannon said about V being free-spirited is really true. He always follows his curiosity and creative instincts. He knows who he is and what he likes, yet he remains open to growth and new experiences. And no matter what he explores, everything still feels authentically Taehyung. His sincerity in the way he approaches both life and art is what makes him so fascinating to follow. It’s one of the reasons people connect not only with the musician, but with Kim Taehyung as a person.

This one and RM's RPWP are my favorite solo albuns. You should also react to the other solo songs he has. Also I dont agree with your take on albuns with a lot of songs, I understand why shorter EPs are becoming more popular, our attention spans are getting shorter, but I still love when artists commit to a full album. For me, a great album isn't just a collection of songs, it tells a story, or creates a mood, and takes you on a journey. However Layover is a perfect example of a short project that feels complete, but albums like Arirang and any other from them and many other artists, show why full-length albums still matter. In the end, it's not about the number of tracks—it's about having the right number of songs to fully realize the artist's vision. Ultimately, it all comes down to quality. I believe that every project has an ideal number of songs, and it's up to the artist to find that balance.

All 5 music videos were filmed at different locations across Spain over a 5-day period. Having music videos for all songs in an album is not very common like you said but V had a vision for Layover and he made it into a reality. Hope you can circle back to his standalone songs after seeing all members’ solos. I suggest 1 combined reaction with singles from each member. V’s music videos for Winter Ahead and FRI(END)S are incredible and must watch!

I’m a fan of many artists but V is the first one to get me genuinely invested. Very interesting personality, always full of surprises and his artistic range knows no limits. People sometimes confuse him being calm and softspoken to being introverted but he is a social butterfly and values human connection so much. He has maintained friend groups across different industries and circles over the years. A lot of comments already mentioned about the leads from the Tangerines kdrama as among his long time friends but he’s friends with even more actors. BTS is 7 members so group dynamics will be different and sometimes V also prefers to just listen and take things in. In many ways, listening is one of the most genuine ways to connect with people

This album is a love letter to ARMY right before he enlisted. That is why all the songs are about love and longing. He said to think of it like a layover, just a stop along our journey together. He wanted to create a lovely, romantic virtual world, which you can see in the MVs with sort of retro atomic punk style tech, to run away to with ARMY to pass the time while he was away. You can see this most clearly in the "Rainy Days" and "Slow Dancing" MVs. Slow Dancing is very Neverland coded. He packaged the album itself like a care package for ARMY, in a brown box with postmarks on it and love notes inside. It all wraps up in "For Us" with an MV that pulls in all the other MVs and lyrics where he sings "I wish I could stay with you" and about how he "did it all for us." Fun tidbit for you, if you ever read this.... V (Taehyung) went into the toughest unit in the ROKA (Republic of Korea ARMY) for his military service time, the 707th Fighting White Tigers, the Black Ops and Counter Terror unit. It's like South Korea's equivalent of Navy Seals or similar specialists, with a more than 90% washout rate. He was commended for his sniper skills. When they all got out of the military, he was HUGE. He was bigger/more bulked up and muscley than all the other members.

I've really enjoyed re-listening to this album and seeing you discover and appreciate V's artistry. He really created the sound that felt closest to him and that sincerity was beautifully reflected in this album. I tended to listen to the same genre and songs over and over again, but his music and live performances actually made me want to broaden my musical horizon and try listening to more diverse genres. It always feels so nice to see others appreciate his art, thank you 💜
