Bri 🦔

30 yr old men beefing with 19 yr old rm and 20 year old Suga at that hip hop podcast btw 😭😭

Bri 🦔

Btw today is armys 13 year anniversary of when we officially got the fandom name

Bri 🦔

Next week yall need to watch boracity magazine vid “respect your seniors, mock your juniors” bts lesson on respect

Anya

Still hoping for 2 Cool 4 Skool album. Since it's a short album should add O!RUL8,2? with it.

Tivy

I’m so glad you guys are enjoying it! I’ve been a BTS fan for a while so I’ve heard of this series, but I’ve never watched it. Super fun watching it with you guys!

Tivy

I think it would be really fun for you guys to react to the albums (or at least some songs from them) some point before each episode, so then you get to see what’s going on behind the scenes as their music evolves :)

Anya

The Rise of Bangtan (Attack on Bangtan) is such a banger it's like an anthem song. The title is a reference to that anime Attack on Titan that yall like.

Tivy

Speaking of “House of Cards”, you guys should react to that song by them. It’s soooo good!

Jack

GREAT VIDEO, loved this one. Jin solos were 🔥 👀

Jo

😂😂 Valid crashout

Anya

The way I wanted to reach through the screen and punch those guys. The comments and questions were so unnecessary. Props to RM because he handled it well.

I’m Tired

Missing out on the bonus content and deleted scenes, hopefully they start doing them

Anya

Bless you Carter! No one said bless you smh haha

Bangtan’sNikki ⁷

Guys make sure you pay attention. There are many aspects and perspectives the show is conveying. You want to pay attention to some of the messaging behind the episode. The guys had a difficult time but if you are looking at the service level it can appear they had it easy at times. The more episodes the more it dives into the boys struggles.

Chanel

If you want to see more of their struggles, there is a video dedicated to it

Nada

I really love you guys’ reactions and your commentary! I just wanted to mention one small thing I’ve noticed across a few videos. Sometimes when you’re talking over the video, you end up missing some parts of the video, what makes it also hard to hear you.. I definitely don’t want you to stop talking, that’s part of what makes your reactions fun to watch! I just wonder if pausing the conversation during certain parts might help you catch more of what’s happening. Just a small suggestion because I genuinely enjoy your content and want to see you get the most out of the videos😭🤍

Nat

I agree🥹💜

mina

yeah their digital footprint is insane😭

Papermaker

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!! Pleaasse react to Taeyeon Killing Voice!! Plz plz plz and Girls Generation for a group to listen to!!

Ally Quintero

Guys I love the reactions, but only to say my opinion id like to ask respectfully if you could consider pausing when talking. I'd like to pay attention to your commentaries and also to the episode. That way I can pay attention to both with no interference. Thank you

Bri

Keep pumping these out, they’re so good 🔥

Anya

Ty for watching til the end lol now pls include deleted scenes and bonus content 🙏

Alexandra 🩶

well first - their discussions are based upon the video they are watching, second - if you want to watch the video uninterrupted then you can very freely go and watch it yourself on youtube as its free believe it or not and thirdly, if you watch the whole video, at the end, there is a very long conversation on the contents of the video they have just reacted to which shows, evidently enough, that they took in the information of the video they were reacting to. Therefore if you want to hate just to hate then please kindly leave this page as your negative comment is not needed x

Sokha637

Happy Army anniversary wish all of yours all the best 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

tayuuu

You guys mentioned imposter syndrome and I just wanted to mention that you are spot on and that’s actually something that Jin struggled with even recently. Since you guys are reacting to Jin’s solo songs soon, i recommend taking a look at his solo song ‘Abyss’ if that’s something you want to look into as it touches into his struggle with burnout and feelings similar to imposter syndrome around the time of the release of Dynamite. Great reaction as always 🫶

Hina

BTS’ main ‘issue’ has always been a class disparity. To this day, major media companies refer to them as ‘chonnom’ which means country kids or country boys but holds quite a harsh derogatory tone to it. In their most recent album, in the song ‘they don’t know bout us’ they reference it directly. “We’re just big boys aka chonnom, you say it’s just momentum just shut up” The miracle is that they didn’t just fade away out of existence like many other groups with a similar background. They were the ONLY non-big 3 group that debuted in 2013 to survive and nvm just surviving, they were actively winning awards that the big3 groups should’ve EASILY been getting over them. Initially it was a lot of straight up power abuse and ignoring them even with their wins but later on it ramps up when they start breaking records no one from their background ever managed to before. People writing petitions to the government, death threats, constant hate campaigns that are actively being backed by the sk media (and later on even the government!) 💀 it exceeds the usual seediness of the corporate because it’s always been a class issue. No matter how rich they get, they’re always considered of low ‘value’. It’s shitty. You’ll see that they keep winning but the adversities they face in the midst of it is just so crazy disproportionate. It would’ve been hard for them to make it with no interference from anyone else but you’ll see throughout watching RISE it never stops and it only gets worse in scale and worse in impact 💀💀💀 Lyrics from Mic Drop sum it up p well - “Who said my spoon is dirty? When I grab the mic, I beat all y’all with your gold spoons” and that they did 😂

Anya

Trust, there were struggles! A good video I recommend is "respect your seniors, mock your juniors" by boracity.

tayuuu

They are talking because they are reacting to the video 😭 they r really engaged the whole time and give relevant feedback. if you’re mad they r talking over the video just go watch the original on youtube

Alexandra 🩶

I do agree with this comment as an overall thing that can occur during reactions, but what detrimental moments were missed??

S Moonchild⁷

Being perfect idol also means never telling about the hardships and keeping clean image. BTS going live and reading/telling about their worries and problems is already something idols usually don't do. Either company won't allow it or public won't approve it. They were honest from the beginning and not hiding issues that comes with this somewhat ungrateful profession

Nada

Not necessarily something specific I also meant it as an overall thing

Alexandra 🩶

Apparently people are angry that they’re missing ‘key’ parts but they covered most of the videos vocal points so I’m really confused as to why people are being so fussy 😭🙏🏻

gm ‘777

guys don’t be fooled they might’ve seemed like they were already doing great but unfortunately they weren’t :/ and yes bts digital footprint is crazy, they really didn’t think they’d become this big 😭😭 thanks for the reaction 💜

Sarah

I will say don’t be fooled by the fact that they got an award in their first year to mean that they didn’t struggle after that or that it is that much bc while it was very impressive after that their song ‘danger’ flopped ( I think) and their company almost went bankrupt. It wasn’t until 2015 or 2016 when they finally started winning big awards that made a great impact on their popularity and kpop. And between that time as well they faced a lot of hardships that they might not show in the series or just weren’t caught on camera. Most of these hardships were bc they were a group from a small company winning awards that bigger artists thought they deserved more which was something basically unheard of in kpop. So the hate and things they went through over time is mainly bc of that and their company def did not become bigger that fast. Anyway sorry for the yap just wanted to clarify some things😂thanks for the reaction!!

Wojood ot ⁷

Please Reaction to BTS ARIRANG concert in busan Day 2

Glory

It may seem that they were doing well but those awards really didn't mean anything in the long run, you'll see them go through very turbulent times before reaching the top

Tivy

I definitely see why this gives you the impression that BTS were doing better in the beginning than you expected haha. They did build a loyal fanbase surprisingly early because BigHit promoted them really well online, they constantly interacted with fans, and they stood out from a lot of rookie groups at the time. The real struggle was everything happening around them. BigHit was a tiny company that was close to going under, so BTS didn’t have the money, industry connections, or exposure that groups from bigger companies had. Their early album sales and public recognition were pretty modest, and every achievement had to be earned the hard way. On top of that, RM and SUGA faced a lot of criticism from parts of the underground hip-hop scene for becoming idols, while many k-pop fans overlooked them simply because they weren’t from an established company. They were underdogs, and that’s what people are partially talking about when they say BTS struggled in the beginning.

I’m Maya

Can you react for two episodes in one film?

bia

we must protect 2013 fetus jungkook from the evils of the world at all costs 🤺😟💔

gm ‘777

I recommend watching bts hardships! It gives a good insight for their struggles and all 😪😪

S Moonchild⁷

It looks like BTS is bigger than you expected because the documentary is focused on them, they don't show other idols. I think in reality they weren't as popular as it seems. Others looked down on them

mina

uhh, it's not exactly conveyed here, but they were getting serious backlash in korea at the time. people made fun of their names, them doing hip-hop, and especially their whole concept of students rebelling. bts were just telling their own stories, but they were getting attacked left and right. because the government and society want to keep people in line, they wouldn't like a kpop group telling young people to wake up, think for themselves, and follow their dreams instead of just blindly submitting, right?. so as bts started gaining popularity, the big 3 companies and the media did a lot to try and bury them. there were so many articles bashing bts while praising and comapring groups from those companies. it was honestly disgusting. mind you, their debut album only sold 34 copies during first week, but young people like bts who had same struggels in school started listening to their story and connected with it. that's when the industry sort had the first taste of feeling threatened by bts. im not saying bts weren't successfull at all, as you can see they were doing quite well for a group that wasn't heavily promoted and pushed, but there also wasn't really a group that debuted in 2013 to really rival them for the new artist/rookie awards. so they won them all except for mama, snubbed them smh.( mama was in the kahoot's with sm ent. at the time so they couldn't allow bts to win lol). the sad truth is the more bts grew, the harder others tried to put them down.

Angela González

I really like their reactions. The boys didn't have it easy in their early days, and they'll gradually show that in the videos. Since the next reaction video is Jin solos, I'd like them to include it Abyss, I'll be there, don't say you love me, another Level AND background

Sun

I totally disagree with this take. It was pretty easy and enjoyable to follow along with their commentary and they're talking while the video is playing but I didn't feel they missed anything important. I'd rather avoid pausing the video multiple times in between because thats more distracting.

tayuuu

i think YOU need to pay closer attention because they were confused why the audience was frustrated (assuming they are fans of the podcast and not BTS) before they corrected themselves a few seconds later when they realized there were likely ARMY in the audience. this will be the last time i reply so think what u want 👍

Sienna

Exactly. Idk why some people are attacking me for saying the same

Jess Min

And one of them is in prison now but we’ll soon learn who that is… oop👀

Nada

Right, and I didn’t mean it in a bad way at all. It’s just something I’ve noticed overall, and it’s honestly not even that big of an issue. For example, I noticed it during the Festa video too. I’m only sharing my opinion because I genuinely love their reactions, and I think it would make the experience even better for both them and us. That way they can still speak freely while also catching more of what’s happening in the video, yk?

Jess Min

Yep! What timing, happy birthday ARMY! 💜💜 It’s on July 9th but we celebrate the day before in western time zone because yk Korean times lol. (If anyone wondered)

bia

omg i completely forgot about the v and jhope penalty kiss 😭 bts’ 2013 digital footprint is insane 😭 i wonder what the members would think about that clip right now lollll probably stored in the very back of their memory

faith

the next ep is even sadder 👀

Jess Min

ATP I’m kind of used to it. I was a little bothered at first only because I like hearing their thoughts but of course when paused. Chat here and there isn’t bad but idk it’s just sensory overload sometimes, but as long as they’re enjoying it and catching what’s going on it is what it is. :)

Jess Min

The choreo is so underrated tbh.

elvira l

the series will cover more about their hardships especially when they were really breaking into the western music charts. you can also watch the bts hardships video that covers a lot of what they went through

Nada

I’m not really sure why you’re getting so pressed about it. I already said I didn’t mean it in a negative way, and I even clarified that this wasn’t really about this specific video, it was just something I’ve noticed happens from time to time. It was simply constructive feedback. Calling people “fussy” for giving respectful feedback feels a bit unfair, especially when no one’s being rude. Since you put “key” in quotes, it seemed pretty clear you were referring to my comment, so I just wanted to clarify where I was coming from. I genuinely enjoy their reactions, which is exactly why I took the time to leave the suggestion in the first place🙃

Jess Min

Yeah I was I gonna say it may seem like it’s all good because of ARMY being early established and all with them winning Best Artist of the Year but the guys will learn in the next couple of episodes how much harder it became for Bangtan…

Alexandra 🩶

I mean can’t really say I’m heartbroken by what you have to say, people are allowed to have an opinion, I agree with you on that but the way you expressed yourself came of as rude and creates a negative atmosphere, give constructive feedback as you wish but do it in a more positive way that could actually create growth as opposed to how you phrased it. Oh also I didn’t tell you in particular to leave, it’s more so hinting at your negativity as a thing that’s unwanted x

Ruba

Because you were rude gta ot7.. let’s try to be nicer

Jess Min

Agreed. I think too it helps to pause every once in a while to gather everyone’s thoughts and opinions while still obsorbing the video. Hell, I think even just one pause would do the trick tbh. I like their commentary a lot.

Nada

I literally wasn’t though? I’m sorry if it came across as rude, that genuinely wasn’t my intention? I was trying to give constructive feedback because I enjoy their content and want to see them catch more of what’s happening in the videos. I even said I wasn’t asking them to stop talking, just maybe to pause during certain moments so they don’t miss anything. There’s a difference between respectfully sharing an opinion and being rude, and I was aiming for the former

Sweet piano:3

So everyone actually have finished school and university and most of them are actually going for their masters

Sokha637

Great thoughts love it can’t wait for the next episode..thank you guys 💜💜💜💜

Papermaker

The talking was fine guys. You guys crazy

C Nichole

Honestly Idk if anyone else has a hard time hearing their commentary, but I always do..... especially Jack.....I wish they would pause just for a few seconds so we can HEAR their commentary instead of straining over the content. Like yea we wanna hear your thoughts but it is almost always a struggle for me in all their content including their other channels. They don't seem to really care about this feedback tho...I've seen them disregard it before and say no pausing....but please have an epiphany and do small pauses.....it's so frustrating to replay the vid over and over to catch everything being said.

Nada

That’s fair. If it came across as rude, I can understand why you’d see it that way, even though that genuinely wasn’t my intention lol. Looking back, I probably could’ve worded some things better. That said, I don’t think giving respectful feedback is the same as being negative. I made it clear that I enjoy their reactions, that I wasn’t asking them to stop talking, and that it was just something I’d noticed over multiple videos. My comment came from wanting to see their content be even better, not from trying to put them down. I also responded because your comment about people being “fussy” and putting “key” in quotes seemed directed at me, so I wanted to explain where I was coming from. We don’t have to agree, but I don’t think respectfully sharing feedback should automatically be seen as creating a negative atmosphere.

Sweet piano:3

Also the " podcast" was actually supposed to be BTS promotion for their comeback and they were invited by underground rappers they were there just to talk but for some reason they began to roast ,that's why Army was there , it was just supposed to be about BTS the rising rookie group and their background in hip-hop . The rapper who started to roast them is bfree a rapper who was also invited he was for some reason angry that they were " sell outs " for joining a company to be hip-hop idols

Ninia

Maybe editing can make you believe they were doing very well, but their first album literally sold 34 copies. To be honest, if you love reading i think you'd like their book " beyond the story". Editing and stories from other people can paint so many different pictures about their old days, but it's always best to learn their story from their own words Thank you so much for reaction 💜💜💜💜

Nicol

Guys you have to understand that this documentary focuses on showing the real but also the best, they went through a lot of heavy things from the fact of debuting why a group canceled to receiving death threats, but even so I love the reactions to this documentary I hope you can upload chapter 4 soon.

gm ‘777

also McKay, I think you’re the first reactor to notice that Jin was going through stuff. No one ever notices it or knows but Jin struggled a lot in the earlier years especially before debut! also yes bts has really bad imposter syndrome even to this day :/ RM’s album “right place wrong person” shows how he feels this way just by the name of it but also to be honest most of RMs discography shows this

C Nichole

Nobody was being rude and nobody has to leave for an opinion. This is honestly one of the most annoying takes on channels that watch BTS..... whenever someone has an issue in the comments they are suggested/told to leave. You don't have to be scared of diff opinions. As a reaction channel, everyone won't be satisfied all the time....and sometimes you need to speak up respectfully and ask for things from the content you invest in. They always say they do these vids for their audience..so I'm sure they expect to hear real feedback from their audience.

RS123

Oh wow y'all have already reacted. Can't wait 🙌

Ana

This. I’ve always noticed Jin would hide a lot with humor because I’m similar. But Jin is the member we rarely see his real or full personality. He does a lot to bring others laughs and happiness but Jin is definitely more quiet and reserved. This era seems to be the most confident Jin has ever been imo. I think it started with his solo tour and activities he gained so much confidence. I know Jin has expressed feeling like he doesn’t have much to offer in comparison to the other members. And I love seeing him take over the stage and owning it this tour

Cutae

I think they talked about that before, they said they don’t pause and it just makes it more efficient when they edit. They said that like wayyy back. But I agree they need to pause and process some of those informations cuz most of the vids are over loaded.

RS123

Just know that this series doesn't show everything. It definitely paints the picture but there is still so much that's missing

Ruba

Nada I’m sorry if u misunderstood me😭 your comment was perfectly fine and respectful dw. I was referring to gta ot7’s comment saying that she didn't know why people in the comments “attacked her” while saying the same thing as u. But it wasn't the same at all. The parts of her comment I and others perceived as rude were “i’m fed up with their talking over the video”, “the guys in the corner keep yapping”. Again I'm sorry for the misunderstanding!🫶🏼💕

Alexandra 🩶

Sorry Nada, my reply wasn’t to you - Patreon has made replying to comments so complicated 😭 I had no issue with your comment, although I’m still kinda wondering what key moments were missed but you just worded yours in what I would describe as a nice way 🙏🏻

Alexandra 🩶

Guys I don’t know if I miss worded my response but I’ve already explained that I meant it in a way that their ‘negative’ way of expressing their views, which in my opinion came off as rude, should leave. maybe that wasn’t the case for everyone but it was for me, mb for it coming off as me telling them they should just leave indefinitely which I didn’t mean. I just think that if you read other comments with the same concerns that they vocalised in a ‘nicer’ way then what this person did, in my opinion it came off as rather rude, if you don’t agree with that then agree to disagree

Nada

Oh I didn’t know that! Thank you for letting me know

Nada

No worries at all!!🤍

Alexandra 🩶

Why don’t we both chill out?? I apologise for coming off as aggressive, don’t think your coming off as particularly calm yourself so why don’t we both ‘chill out’??

Bri 🦔

It’s even worse cause Yoongi was 16-17 when he was rapping underground like is he deadass

Alexandra 🩶

I apologise if I’ve caused you any offence, I’ve explained my ‘leave’ comment already but I still stand by what I’ve said earlier, your comment came off as harsh criticism, there is a difference between giving a respectful opinion and a rude opinion. I don’t know if I have to really explain that to you or not but since you want to be condescending with me I can be with you to, I’m assuming you can guess which one you fall into. I am sorry that I told you to leave, I didn’t explain what I actually meant and that came off as mean so I do apologise for that aspect but yes I do know what ‘fed up’ means and I think there were probably other ways you could have expressed this in a respectful manner as well as other aspects of your comment. I stand by constructive and respectful criticism/opinions being a more practical solution to any problems you have as opposed to agitative comments

Alexandra 🩶

I’m glad I’m not the only one 😭😭

Ruba

They said from day one that they don’t do pauses. It’s all their channels’ format since day one so no one have to pay their subscription if they don’t like the format, it’s that easy. Their format means less editing and more content every week especially with the amount of shows they watch with us so let’s try to be more grateful maybe. I understand the criticism about the talking mid videos and that we can’t hear them sometimes and I agree with that. I believe they already acknowledged the sound issues in the other channel and said they will improve it. So, of course we can give them feedback but let’s keep it respectful and constructive so we can all enjoy this community together

Alexandra 🩶

Yh same Nada my comments on the other replies are not aimed at you or your opinion, like ruba said your comment was phrased nicely 😭

Ruba

🫶🏼🤍🤍

Ana Paula

I was so happy to get the notification. Thanks for reacting to one of the documentary series I love the most. I really enjoy your reactions, guys—please keep it up.💜🇧🇷

Snooze

I can't wait for the Jin solos reaction

Ruba

Lmao not u guys replaying the jimin clip😭 dw I believe it was from one of their own shows and was always censored thankfully lol

bowie is tired

agreed lowkey cried the first time i watched it

Nada

Oh I see that makes sense😭I was so confused

McKay Carter

Always doing something wrong

bowie is tired

The reason you don’t see their struggle to fame with this series is because so far they’ve centered around bts, if you knew about kpop and the bigger picture at the time it was very clear that bts was no where near as big as other groups. They were heavily looked down upon by the industry, but i think in the future ROB episodes they’ll show some peeks at their struggles as a group and individually

Ruba

Can’t waitttt

McKay Carter

It’s just the way it’s said Alexandra, criticism is fine but it’s commonly said in a negative way rather than a constructive way here.

McKay Carter

Thank you for saying it in a kind constructive way Nada!

McKay Carter

Wait didn’t we watch it at the end

Hyeunrby

Wait Carter why are you so old?! I thought you’re 29 or 30..

Alexandra 🩶

I’m sorry you get such negative comments and that’s why I’ve been trying to tell people not to do their criticisms in such a way, I don’t want you guys to be put off reacting to kpop videos due to people being, in my opinion rude, so hopefully my comments can show people that sometimes what they say is harsh

Belle Sharrar

No its like an extra video, shorter than these, and its behind the scenes and bonus content that didn't make it in the actual episode. Could be a fun watch for you guys if you are alright with watching for a tad bit longer!

Ruba

yeah they set them up fr

Alayna

Not sure if anyone said it but they all have their college degree.

Jack

That’s awesome

Jack

👌🏼

Jack

I guess we need to watch that one video that specifically highlights the bad

Jack

34 > 0 💜

Jack

Wouldn’t be a reaction if we just sat there 😂

Jack

Dang Mic Drop lyric going hard 😂

shoemingi

all the members have bachelors degrees btw

Noha⁷

They’ve already explained their reaction style and why they don’t pause while watching. They’re still fully engaged and listening but I don’t know why we’re STILL complaining. At this point just stop watching. The constant complaints every video is just annoying

Jack

We’ve seen the comments about pausing, we don’t yet have a viable way to pause and make editing possible in post with the pauses without causing major time constraints. We have brainstormed a few things and now that we are in the new studio we can maybe look further into it we just haven’t ever delved into it because it’s never been necessary for us to

Snooze

Yeah I don't think they worded their comment nicely and nor do I think that the criticism was warranted because the geks have been doing really well with keeping up with the video, the subtitles while expressing their thoughts. But also I do wish that in future they do change their setup in a way that they can pause videos or rewind to have a better experience. For example, I was surprised by how they were able to keep up with run bts game explanations in the zombie episode but there's no way they'll be able to understand those explanations in other run bts episodes. Everyone needs to pause to read those explanations.

Snooze

And also the bts hardships from 2013 to 2021 by xceleste is a good video.

noor

the rapline’s first 4 unit tracks are called “cypher pt.1-4” and they’re directed to haters, and cypher pt.2 at least (if not all) is believed to be directly a diss track about someone called b-free aka that man pushing 30 beefing with rm and suga in that podcast

Sarah

I hope next week we get their first and second album reactions so you can sync up with the series and not get spoiled🫶

Noha⁷

I really love the ROB reactions. Can’t wait for them to keep going 🤍

Alayna

Also jungkook was only 14! Korean age is different. Hard to explain.

Noha⁷

In case some people don’t know, they mentioned in a past video that they don’t pause while watching since it makes editing a lot harder so it’ll take longer for them to release the video. That style might not be ideal for some people but they still look engaged and taking stuff in. Of course everyone can give their opinions and stuff but I thought some people might not know the reason. I just don’t want the comment section to feel like an echo chamber of the same 2 things 🤍

C Nichole

I mean you guys also don't really change your format for the viewers...so maybe you shouldn't see it as always doing something wrong ....there will always be ppl that may point something out....in the end it's whether you care to make changes or not. You guys don't pause, but some of us also can't hear your commentary so if you don't mind that aspect then no issues. Im here because I want to see your content...everyone saying to leave that has something to say is ridiculous. This is a reaction channel ..ppl will naturally give their take on your reactions. Hopefully respectfully, but disagreements don't automatically mean rude either.

LaurAbroad

Love re-watching this series with everyone! I always catch something that I missed the first time 💜 thanks for posting! 🙌🏼

Tivy

lmaooo he was just kidding 😂 he’s actually 50

Alexandra 🩶

No and that’s what we’ve been pointing out - people can disagree, they have a right to do so but there’s clear examples in this comment section of both rude and respectful comments. I myself don’t personally mind the commentary, particularly because they go back over what they discussed at the end of the video so for someone who is watching them to see their actual takes, the format works for me. However I can see why it won’t work for everyone and that’s fair enough to voice that but ultimately some people have stated this in a disrespectful way.

McKay Carter

I’m glad he got through it, we love Jin so much

C Nichole

Yea disrespect is not necessary, but telling ppl not to watch or unsubscribe from a channel is not helpful either. There should be growth on both ends.....if someone doesn't care for the content and would like to voice concerns, issues, etc then that should be available to be done. The original comment could have been worded differently if the guys felt bad about it, but it seems like it comes from frustration after a long time of pointing something out. That's an issue from both ends. For me personally idc if they talk I just wanted to be able to hear what they are saying....they don't reiterate everything they said during the vids at the end...but again if they still don't feel the need to pause then ppl (including new viewers that don't know they have said they won't pause) will continue to point it out

Mira

In Korean culture, people often say "thank you" and "sorry" together because receiving kindness can also feel like you've inconvenienced someone. So in Jin's vlog, when fans said they were both thankful and sorry, they likely meant that they appreciated BTS's efforts while also feeling bad about the sacrifices and hard work the group put in for them. (if I'm wrong, pls correct me)

Alexandra 🩶

Ultimately they have said this is the format for them, I don’t think they will change it given that it probably works best for them on a filming aspect, if they want to change they can. I don’t know if you are referring to my comment from earlier about me telling the original person to leave but I didn’t mean it in that way, I have explained it in other replies and have apologised for it so can’t really do much else. However it’s clear from Mckay’s response that they too may have viewed it as a negative comment so idrk, I think frustrations are fair but ultimately I still think wording can be done nicely even if they are angry

Snooze

Also another thing to note is that in 2013, the big 3 companies didn't debut any new groups so bts were against groups from other small companies fair and square which is why they were able to win those best new artist awards without the big 3 interfering with their power.

Suttin More

I think this series does a very good job at balancing what they went through for the audience, because MY PEOPLE, the episodes will be getting more and more serious as you go, but still the keeping it "friendly"? ... but they really didn't have it easy, and you will realize as you go through the journey. Borahae 💜 (don't forget Seo Taiji!).

Carter D. Andrus

This is unnecessarily negative. Listen, I have consumed a lot of reaction content in my life, and personally I HATE when people pause the video a million times every time they want to say something. So there are just different types of reactions. If this isn’t your cup of tea, you can always just go somewhere else sadly

Eli Mollo

RM and Suga originally attended the 2013 hip-hop broadcast because they were personally invited by influential hip-hop journalist Kim Bong-hyun to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his show. The event was highly important because it was designed as a serious, rare panel discussion bridging mainstream K-pop and underground hip-hop. Since RM and Suga both had deep roots in the underground scene (as Runch Randa - RM, Gloss - Suga) before debuting as idols, the host intended for them to share their perspectives on transitioning into the idol world. However, the celebratory broadcast devolved into a hostile ambush when rapper B-Free publicly insulted them for choosing a commercial path over "real hip-hop," fueling BTS's drive to overcome intense criticism. This incident became an infamous milestone in K-pop history, ultimately leading to a public apology from B-Free six years later.

Divina Izzard

BTS did not have it easy. Xceleste has a documentary " BTS Hardships 2013-2021". Warning you will get mad. This is a must watch.

Aaliyah Contreras

these are my fav reactions rn because i feel like im learning about bts all over again😭

asren

Yeah, you guys need to watch BTS HARDSHIPS 2013–2021 by xCeleste. It does a great job of covering most of what BTS has been through since their debut. Also, if you want to learn more about BTS's story and what they went through beyond what was shown on social media, BTS released a book called "Beyond the Story", where they share their own stories and talk about the hardships they experienced in much more detail.

Nikita

The collective voice crack at IU 😂😂 Btw guys, the series is only 21 episodes. The 30+ you're seeing is because you're using a playlist that has the bonus and deleted videos included. Also I don't know if you saw but I made a little guide for you for each episode up to ep 7 that includes each MV or song that's included in the episodes so you can watch before being spoiled (if you prefer to obv). It's mostly like 2-4 for each ep. It's in Discord. If you find it helpful let me know and I'll do the rest.

Hyeunrby

Oh okay, gosh my heart actually jumped😂😅

nelle

i believe some have their masters too

nelle

they were doing a skit where jimin suddenly appeared but his robe accidentally flew open lol

Ruba

Lmao those old skits were always unhinged istg😭

nelle

its genuinely insane that danger didn't do well considering its one of their best title tracks

Nikita

I don't mind the talking at all but sometimes it's hard to hear you guys. And by you guys, I mean Jack and McKay 😂 since the mic is in the middle of the table and they're on the ends. Maybe individual clip on mics or something will be better.

Nikita

"so far" yes 🙂‍↕️

Nikita

I'm glad you're enjoying it Tivy! I hope you're seeing some new stuff too :)

Nikita

McKay, the 37 videos you think are the series total are actually the separate videos for the bonus and deleted in that playlist. The actual series is up to 21 eps only.

C Nichole

That is exactly what I'm saying. Apparently this is negative feedback. It is what it is if they don't wanna be heard that's fine.

C Nichole

So just put a disclaimer in your vids that y'all don't pause and don't mind not being heard so that you won't keep getting the same messages. You guys get new viewers who will always have the same complaint

Honey⑦

This is a BTS success documentary so the perspective you see is their success and achievements but it does not even surface level shows how much they went through. There are other videos like "Respect your seniors, mock your juniors by Boracity" and "BTS hardships by xceleste" that focuses on their struggles but even they dont show everything they went thru. Mind you,BTS never showed what they were going thru,we get to know here and there after years that-this happened that happened. They went thru tings no one in the industry did. Sabotaging by other companies, lack of money and opportunities and mind u the ep you watched, they still lacked funds here. It was their ep "HYYH" with "I need you' title track that made them somewhat mainstream in korea and then "Blood sweat and tears" and "fire" blew up. And comparing to their quality of music even in earlier days, the groups they were losing from didnt make sense. Bts were THE underdogs of the kpop scene getting shits from underground rap scene(RM,SUGA leaving underground rapping for idol life) as well as kpop scene(other companies and their fans ,media etc). Its a miracle they survived and not only thrived but became THE BTS,the biggest pop artists in the world rn.

Please watch BTS ARIRANG Busan concert day 2

C⁷💜

Thanks so much for the reaction! 💜 When you mentioned that it feels like BTS struggled a lot less after debut than you’ve been told, I actually think it can seem that way because we already know how successful they eventually became. But they definitely didn’t become huge overnight after debut. They spent years slowly building their fanbase while dealing with criticism, being underestimated because they came from a small company, and having far fewer opportunities than groups from the bigger agencies. They worked incredibly hard for every step forward. Looking back now, it’s easy to compress that timeline, but their success was a gradual climb, and they truly earned every bit of it. ARMY was there through those early years too, supporting them every step of the way. If you continue watching Rise of Bangtan, you’ll see more of those challenges and just how gradual their rise really was. They truly earned every bit of their success.

BTSU

Guys, correct me if I’m wrong, but the guy in the red cap is McKay, right? I really think he deserves a mic of his own—I can barely hear what he’s saying!

Angel

haha i know, thank u im just anxious bc some of my fave songs were made by jin- excited for friday <3

Dagny

Yes, I agree. I felt it was good that he got to do a solo tour and all his other activities too. He seems to have more confidence and belief in himself and that he is deservedly an important part of the group. He is just letting loose and fully immersing himself in experiencing anything and everything now, and I love that for him. 😊💜

Dagny

We like to hear your views and observations as well, but the volume is noticeably low, so it makes it hard to hear what you are saying at times. My volume is cranked to max for your videos, and I still miss some of it. Am I only one who is experiencing this? 🤔

dani

bro the whole concert?? that would take a lot of time, i think they said they streamed it? im not sure tho

lemon

fun fact: these grown men have spent more time in prison than in the industry or on stage; clearly, their hatful view of bts didn't make them successful or even decent people

lemon

right it’s so embarrassing

I’m Tired

guys is Carter actually 40????

lemon

He didn't really apologize. Even though he's rotting in jail now and bts hasn't acknowledged him after that mess, he's still talking about them like dude you have something more important rn than chasing after bts

sey

A heartfelt episode for army on army day!! Happy A.R.M.Y day everyone!! (July 9th)

hibu.k

Actually, a lot of reactors do the whole concert at once because the energy is so good! Plus, they already react to very long movies on their other channel that are basically the same length as a concert, so it’s totally doable for them. They haven't streamed this yet, so just hoping they see the link and give us the full experience on the poll! 🤞✨

E

38???? I thought he's like 22

Ezel⁷ ⊙⊝⊜

JUST BECAUSE THEY GOT BEST NEW ARTIST AWARD DOESN’T MEAN THEY WERE POPULAR. THEY WERE NOT POPULAR UNTIL 2015 THEYJUST HAD A SMALL BUT PASSIONATE FANBASE. ALSO WHEN THE AUDIENCE SCREAMS CERTAIN LYRICS IN LIVE PERFORMANCES IT’S BECAUSE IN KPOP THOSE PARTS ARE PREPLANNED SO GIVEN TO THE AUDIENCE BEFORE THE MUSIC SHOW SO NOT BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS ALL THE LYRICS NORMALLY!

Marii

I saw this a long time ago and I don't remember whether some of these things are shown in the later episodes, but I feel like it might be giving the impression that everything was going super well for them and doesn't really show some of the things they went through, which is understandable because it's a lot of information. Even though they already had fans back then and had won Best New Artist, their debut wasn't actually as successful as you all seem to think. They made an impact because of the themes of their songs and things like that, and that's when they started building a dedicated fanbase, but just to give you an idea, their first album sold only 34 copies on the first day and 5,000 in the first month. They also received a lot of hate, including over their name, among other things, and unlike many groups, they had no power or influence in the media. Even though they appeared on some shows, they weren't invited onto the more well-known ones, and a lot of the time they weren't treated very well when they did appear somewhere either. Their story is a long one, and I think the documentary talks about some of these things, but there are probably many others that were left out.

Rosalita16

They all completed their schooling

Gatha Naranath

14:43 yes Jhope and V lost a challenge so their punishment was to actually kiss💀Unfortunately this was V’s first kiss ever. I guess that’s shows how young these boys were at the time😭…they barely did anything anything just a little touch and then ran off screaming

Jessica

1. All 7 members have finished their college education 😌 2. Although this highlights their come up it was not accomplished without physical, emotional, & financial hardship 3. 25:39 captions: “BTS who debuted this year (2013)” Gek-pop: “How long has it been since they debuted?” 4. 27:50 that was Jin who pushed the girl in the locker. I honestly couldn’t hear much of you all discussion while the video was playing bc it was too much dialogue to keep up with between the video & you guys. Maybe try pausing it. You also were clearly missing the answers to your questions as well 😅 so maybe that will resolve it. Great reaction regardless. 💜

Gatha Naranath

It’s so crazy cause i know bts now especially Yoongi. Has said he doesn’t want new idols and young idols to struggle like they did. Like if u think about it. These 30 year old rappers wanted these kids (RM and Suga) to struggle and starve like they did and continue doing so. Hating on kids who haven’t even fully grown yet. That’s just crazy. Meanwhile Suga today says he doesn’t want kids at that age to struggle like he did so he’s very happy to have made it a bit easier for groups under bighit and hybe to promote themselves easier

Angela González

Guys, I don't know if it's possible to include the deleted scenes and bonus content in the reaction to the Rise of Bangtan episode. These two vary in length, the longest being fifteen minutes or less, and it varies by episode. Could you check if you can include them in the reaction?

Chérie

I love the Baratie lego set so much 🩵

I’m Maya

I don’t Think so he is like 28 or 29

Nicol

Yeah, I HOPE THEY DO

alie

Hi! I’ve seen many people are requesting for Geks to react to Arirang concerts 🙌 So these are the links I’ve found where you can watch it ✨ BUSAN Shows (most recents) D1 (telegram link): https://t.me/BTSArchiv/5614 D2: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qnJEdOuVkVAqBoJ2unzSG8dSZ3prolwP/view GOYANG shows (D3 was best bc less smoke and clearer video) D1, D2, D3: https://kisskh.nl/Drama/BTS-World-Tour--Arirang--in-Goyang/Episode-3?id=12797&ep=210824&page=0&pageSize=100 Maybe they can do a poll which day to react 😅 anyways any concert day is fine tho

Pluto

They have small number of dedicated fan in the beginning 💜 React to Respect your seniors mock your junior from boracity it’s short but covers a lot of discrimination they face

floo

Pls include ARIRANG CONCERT Busan day 2 for the next week poll plss im on my knees 🙏 its been while were asking this 🥺 Theres only few songs you dont know yet but its totally ok. Not today, Magic shop Ddaeng Fire

Nana

Yess they need to watch it

Pluto

React to Respect your seniors mock your junior from boracity it’s short but covers a lot of discrimination they face

yoonii

Guys, please watch the deleted scenes and the bonus clips—they’re two completely different videos. For each episode of ROB, there are two extra videos with lots of funny and interesting moments. Don’t miss out on them! you can gather them and watch them in one video if you want since you haven’t seen them for the 3 episodes so it would be a great idea if you do so for the next release of ROB

Aly

Exactly!! Most of the problems trace back to this and if BTS had a different background, this is not how their experience would have been.

daisy o

I think because they seem BTS always had Army cus of the logs etc they may think it was a lot easier than we say.

daisy o

That hip hop show was one of the few shows they could go on that invited them.. they had a hard time getting anyone to invite them to shows.

⁷ S

you guys need to watch “respect your seniors, mock your juniors” by boracity magazine. it’s a must to understand their struggles

Aya

Why is it too long it’s 2 hour they react to movies for that long

Aya

It’s because they tend to speak over each other so it all gets mixed up and McKay speaking voice isn’t as loud as the other, I really love hearing what he has to say so it would really be nice if they would speak one at a time but ik that’s hard to do with a group of 4 people

Aya

Right danger is that song for me I freaking have it on repeat everyday

hazard

fun fact i’m pretty sure attack on bangtan is a song written based off attack on titan

Crystel C.R

After that best new artist, they didn't win anything else; they were stuck :(

Kuro

i actually like it lol....

BTSU

True!

I’m Tired

The way I’ve been watching them for years and I have no idea how old any of them are

humbleandkindness

Note on hip hop in Korea: they have a very interesting interpretation of what hip hop and rap actually are over there. I would personally argue that this is because of their lack of awareness of (or interest in) the Black/African-American history that shaped the genre. To them, hip hop is all about being tough, always winning, being mean, and guns and money and violence. Adding this misunderstanding to the already present class disparity issues in South Korea, and the resulting product can be a well-intentioned but ill-executed imitation at best, and straight up embarrassing at worst. The fact that BTS used hip hop to speak about struggles that were personal and meaningful to them, while using it as a way to speak to their goals and aspirations, almost like a manifestation of their future (along with the fact that they did also eventually learn directly from some of the pioneers and greats of Black music), was the beginning of what sets them entirely apart from the rest of K-pop.

hibu.k

Exactly 💯

floo

Out of nowhere but IU and lee jungsuk just broke up 🥲 im sad they were cute good looking couple

floo

If they do concert they can just do 2 videos on that week im satisfied with concert even if theres no video that week 😁

hibu.k

Same here honestly! I would be 100% satisfied with just the concert next week. It’s worth it at any cost! 🥲

mina

whatt nooo🥺🥺🥺🥺

floo

Yeah unfortunately

Anya

Jin deserves an early drop today 🙏

Reten

I saw that 😭😭 why?!? They were so cuteee

SIM_X💜

You have to watch bts hardships by celeste as well. It covers alot of tough times of bts in short.

Reten

Early drop please guys 🙏🏻

Ayaulym🇰🇿

Tbf even if they won best new artists during those times, EXO were the biggest rookies that debuted a year earlier. Actually, EXO were monster rookies that were predicted to be king kpop and BTS were the underdogs. The industry was sooo oversaturated even then. I used to have a music channel that would stream kpop on tv non-stop and as a kid the first time BTS got real attention was only in around 2015

Tivy

IU and Lee Jong-suk broke up 😭 I thought they’d be endgame icl

SammiewiththebigT

@gta ot7 Lmao, what? They clearly welcome feedback and constructive criticism, but they’ve already explained why they don’t pause. So instead of asking why that might be the case, you just blew up and threw a temper tantrum. So at this point, you’re not inviting a discussion for bettering the channel. You’re just throwing an explosive reaction, when you don’t get what you want.

SammiewiththebigT

Because you didn’t convey it the same, lmao. Nada conveyed it in a nice, helpful way and you threw a tantrum…

Sarah

Omg yes I love it sm such a banger

Liyan

💜💜💜

Frances

They’re almost as good as the actual episodes. I suggest watching the episode, then the deleted scenes (these give more context to each episode) and the bonus content last. The bonus content is so good - just pure fun - so you end on a high.

Rana

There were STRUGGLEs Conan 😭 like literally even Suga said they used to refer to BTS as “they are back from hell” everything was against them specially the K media (and they still until now) back then they were from a small unknown company when the K-pop industry was JUST about the groups from the big 3 companies, everything was about the 3 and there’s also other things HOPEFULLY u all react to “BTS hardships from 2013 to 2021” or “respect ur seniors, mock ur juniors”

Alyssa Borzelleri

You should react to the albums that's correspond with the episodes! last episode was centered around their debut 2 cool 4 skool, you should've reacted to the album. This ep being centered around their first comeback O!RUL82?, you should react to the album!

D.A.W.G

Am I the only one that did not expect Carter to be 38

Reten

He's not 38. He's trolling.

pigeonpole

the members have mentioned no more dream was a good start, then n.o. didn't have great reception (or not as much as needed), then boy in luv did well, then danger era they considered a flop (though their fanbase did keep steadily increasing each comeback from what I remember, so it might have mostly been a money issue since the group/company started in a bad financial place) and then i need u / hyyh (a few years after debut) was finally their (initial) great big win, and then they started feeling the continuous career success from there (and the issues that still came along with that)

Matt Haloostock

They should definitely listen to each album. It'll give them a full picture of the music

Mariah

what do you mean Carter isn't in his early 20s wth ☠️

Nanci

Excellently explained.

Nanci

Yeah, XCeleste's video is good as long as you mind what she says at the end, that she is just touching the TIP of the iceberg in that video and there is so much more she didn't get into, including the nastiest and dirtiest stuff.

Nanci

Me too. It's so good to see him gaining confidence. He really struggles with the imposter syndrome maybe the worst of them. He is so shy that he rarely shows his vulnerabilities in that way but keeps a brave face to cheer his little bros.

Nanci

No one forced the creator of this series to take it down. I think she was just tired of curating it and keeping it going. ARMYs who had recorded it re-uploaded it and take care of it now so she doesn't have to. Yes, most of the members need glasses. RM, Jimin and Yoongi in particular are blind as bats. If they are not wearing corrective glasses, they usually have corrective contacts on. The only one who does not need corrective lenses and only wears them for fashion is j-hope. All Member of BTS have master's degrees. They continued their schooling while also doing their music. They have MBAs that specialize in things related to their work: Jin ~ Theater RM ~ Advertising & Communication with a focus on Art & Visual Media Suga & Jimin ~ Broadcasting and Entertainment j-hope ~ Advertising & Communication with a focus on Design JK ~ Broadcasting & Entertainment with a focus on Filmography V ~ Advertising & Media & Communication

kirix

14:41 haha Jhope and Tae kiss😭

NABILENS

뽀로로 이후로 초통령이라는 소문을 들었던 시기. 그땐 방탄소년단이라는 이름도 몰랐던 나. The time when I had heard the Word of mouth that I was the “super elementary school president” after Pororo. Back then, I didn’t even know the name BTS.

NABILENS

These “BIG3” companies were cowardly playing the “all-know-all” game, hiding behind their fandoms. It’s still progressing quietly even now. But they begin to claim that the more BTS grew, the more BIGHIT (or HYBE) took charge of the “media play.” Since becoming a BTS fan, I have never seen a major hit manipulate the media around BTS, but I don’t know when this kind of “media manipulation” began, but it has also started appearing overseas.

Hina

For me, I noticed how the media refused to report on their achievements at ALL even if they were at a point where they were already breaking out of the k-pop box. Nothing for the BBMAS, AMAS or GRAMMYs. Even when they did report on it, it was never celebratory or even neutral! It was ‘BTS failed to win a Grammy’ before even reporting ‘BTS were nominated for an award’. Not to mention anytime there’s any ‘scandal’ involving a BTS member, the media piles on like crazy with false information (intentional in my opinion) and once the hype dies down, they go back and delete EVERYTHING they initially reported so they can pretend like they’re still reputable sources of info. Entire comment sections just turned off to deter anyone from talking about it. It’s so blatant it kinda makes me laugh when I see it 😂 SK seems to hate Bang Si-hyuk. I can’t tell how they feel about BTS because the general public seems to be neutral or even appreciative but all the entertainment companies and media sites seem to HATE them. They want to wear them down and have them quit / disband asap but it’s been over a decade of these methods, will they ever tire? 😭
