Since you causally mentioned it let me restate that XG is actually a Japanese girl from that only sings in English but is based in South Korea so “technically” people call them a global groups (along with Katseye) but they are definitely inherently kpop (since it’s an industry not a genre) xg also don’t exactly consider themselves a girl group anymore as one of the members recently came out as non binary so they said that XG no longer stands for “extraordinary girls” but “extraordinary genes” now 🫶🏻

Songs I'd recommend: Strategy, What Is Love? and TT (so iconic). - NMIXX: Had to sneak in my current favorite girl group because they're SO good and have been going viral lately😈. Their music is more experimental, and their vocals are second to none! Songs I'd recommend: Blue Valentine, Crescendo and Spinning On It. - Red Velvet: Another legendary girl group from the same generation as Twice. Incredible vocals and a dual concept where you literally get the best of both worlds🙏 Songs I'd recommend: Psycho, Russian Roulette and Cosmic. - XG: More XG because honestly no one is doing it like them😭. NewJeans gave us Super Shy then dipped the following year 💔 They had so many catchy bangers that kicked off the sound and creative shift that people now associate with the start of 5th gen k-pop. You Geks have no idea how big they were becoming, they were definitely on track to becoming one of the defining girl groups of this generation. It’s so unfortunate what happened to them.

To answer you guys, Katseye isn’t a k-pop group. They’re a global girl group. They’re just heavily influenced by the k-pop industry because they’re under HYBE and follow a lot of the same formula, from the trainee system to the performances. That’s why they’re so closely associated with k-pop. For perspective, it’s kind of like the ATLA debate—it isn’t really anime, but it’s so inspired by anime that people group it into the convo.

The MV for KATSEYE’s “Gabriela” is also really good, but, the Performance Video is also great. Now, I think you guys would really enjoy a lot of recent, 4th Generation GG’s also, like “aespa”. Also, I’m surprised that you guys haven’t dived into BLACKPINK, despite the fact that they aren’t very active as a group right now, they do have an awesome discography, well, primarily in their previous songs, which I think you’d really enjoy. Anyways, I can’t wait for additional GG songs in the future 😊. "I think I know my fav music video is by XG" "The level of production the put in the music video is so crazy" "XG has the best music videos out all the groups we've seen" I TOLD YALLLL. XG's creative direction is what drew me in EVEN if it wasn't as apparent in their debut. Anybody who pays attention to visuals and editing knew that they were just gonna grow from there and they did. They genuinely have the best visuals in the industry and for me the best songs and music quality as well. They just have it all. I promise yall, you will be obsessed with XG by the time you go through like two more videos lol Left Right is more tame but the thing about XG is that they give all flavors and they do really well at it. If you want hardcore rap and bars, either with a boom bap beat, or more modern beat they have it. If you want ballads and rnb and pop focused edm songs, they have it and the thing that stands out about them is that they EXCELLLL in all fronts. There is no weak points, they are good at all of it. OMG thank you so much for reacting to them <3 Again they are so criminally underrated for how much of legends and aces they are so I'd never imagine we'd get this far but omg please continue you're journey ALSO bummed that Super Shy was picked because while it's a good song, NewJeans have tons more MVS and songs that have a bit more verses, creative direction, and feeling going on, cannot wait for you to dive into them more as well Le SSerafim's CRAZY is very well made as well! I love girl groups, the only thing is most of them are so messy. New Jeans probably won't come back, with 5 members, the mess is too big. Most kpop groups work with concepts, Le Serrafim's whole concept is cool girl, fearless strong. Whereas New Jeans is like girls next door cutesy. Katseye is another messy group, they were built within competition and it is still going on, one member is on hiatus. Xg and Twice are the least messy groups, they are amazing. XG either have rap heavy songs or vocal songs. I suggest checking out "Howling", "In the rain", "is this love", "Gala"

Guys, you definitely need to start listening to “BLACKPINK”, now that you’ve been introduced to a few GG’s, who are all great, BTW. But, “BLACKPINK” has a really great discography, well, in their old songs, since they aren’t very active ATM because all the members are concentrating on their individual careers, for now. Doesn’t really matter because Manon was number 1 in popularity in the group always. Manon would always say she is excited because it was her JOB. No company wants to let go of their investments, it’s way more trouble for them. They are always ready to excuse and compromise more for someone like Manon (and they did before) who brings a large fanbase It’s clear that she had decided to leave but ended up doing it on bad terms (probably for breaking a ling contract). All these groups used to be under HYBE (except XG), but Newjeans is unfortunately pretty much dead as a group, JUSTICE FOR MY GIRLS!! Some groups release different versions of their songs (usually English or Japanese). In LS's case, they have two Japanese members, so they promote in Japan quite a bit. BTS also promotes in Japan quite a lot, even though they're all Korean. They've had full Japanese comebacks and Japanese versions made of some of their songs.

Newjeans had a really short life as a K-pop group, but that makes their discography even more special to me. No bad songs, all bangers. The girls didn't deserve to get deleted from the sphere; they had something special going for them, and to this day I am extremely bitter over how things evolved to the current situation, which has basically forbidden them to release or even perform songs, old or new, under their name. I have no clear "bad guy" responsible for what happened in my head, just a string of unfortunate events that prematurely ended a really bright career ahead of these young girls.

XG are just very diverse in the styles of music they do. Their theme is also Galactic Wolfpack, so they use a lot of space and futuristic themes. Le Sserafim are BTS' little sister group. They are the first girl group out of the company BTS built and they have done dance challenges and other things with BTS. j-hope has collaborated with them on one of their songs ("Spaghetti") and the main songwriter in Le Sserafim (Yunjin) collaborated with j-hope on a song on his solo album as well ("I Don't Know") There is also a dance challenge short of Jungkook doing the choreography to "Antifragile."
