Bri

Angela González

Yayyy, I'm waiting for this reaction!!! Thanks 💜💜💜

katsuki’s wife

Geks, I see you’ve enjoyed the Top Most Streamed Anime OPs, so how about Most Viewed K-Pop Songs of All Time on YouTube (K-Ville Entertainment’s channel)? I think it’d be fun to catch a glimpse of all the different groups/artists on there!

Sarah

The anger on behalf of the stupid j hope trend thing is SO RIGHT

#GEKPOPDISBAND

t

love ur reactions 🫶🫶🫶 thanks for this

izzy

I think not a lot of people are gonna agree with me, but I'd love to see them react to Kingdom Legendary War!!! It's a nice way to meet new groups and to care for them (but also to see how talented and hardworking they are)

lemon

the timing of this episode is perfect given recent events; whatever bts does gets blown out of proportion escalating to outright hatred and attempts to nitpick their every word or action simply to justify racism and d/ea/th threats against them

Pluto

Finally ROB 💜

R.Az

guys can y’all do both deleted scenes and bonus content in every rob episode

Callie

YAAAAAS ROB IS BACK!!

Ana

⏰🤏🏽🤏🏽🤏🏽

Anna⁷

someone suggested that you guys should watch the most streamed kpop songs of all time, maybe you could also do the top 10 most streamed kpop songs each year? so you can then also see all the popular groups each year

Jo

I agree, RM's hair was a hot mess back then 😅

Anna⁷

also am excited for next episode, its one of my favs

beannie

I support this motion (also, shinee and loona crumbs🗣️)

gm ‘777

there’s episodes dedicated to each member through out the series!

IMPORTANT INFO TO THE GEKS: Geks! Before you guys react to episode 8 of Rise of Bangtan you need to listen and watch I Need U, first. It is very important. If not, you won't understand the episode and you will spoil yourself. The song is very important since it starts the beginning of BTS universe. We wouldn't want you guys to get spoiled.

kooskyu

jk is very sensitive, he's so precious. he shared that he cried when jinu sacrificed himself in kpop demon hunter😭 he recently cried on the end of the paris cause he will miss armys and was so touched by them

Mira

Yayy finally thank you!! 🫶🏼 ROB just keeps getting better with every episode. And yeah the pranks back then were awful i feel so bad for RM

Tiaf M

ohh Zico!! I completely forgot abt him, it’s been a while 😭 I love some of his songs, his rap style & tone r so unique. I used to listen to him, Zion.T, Crush & DEAN sm back then. I especially loved “Bermuda Triangle” by Zico, Crush & DEAN, it’s sooo good 😭 anyway, this is one of my fav eps!! I think after this EP, each ep is gonna focus on a different member, if I’m not wrong? it’s been so long since I kept up w/ ROB 😭 tysm for the reaction today!!

Nanami's Wife

^^^ THIS! Gotta watch 'I NEED U' MV. Literally when everything started changing for the boys towards their career

Chivi Moon 🌙

If you want to see more of their hardships and challenges I suggest BTS Hardships 2013-2021. They also include the absurd trend that was made towards J-hope.

Callie

I believe their biggest concert attendance so far was reached this July in Paris, they had 92k in the audience for 1 show. Both days was a total of 182k people.

Sarah

The jimin fakout with lifting his shirt still lives in my head rent free😌

Callie

Next episode is also one of my favs ! 💜

lau

what a great episode wow

Chérie

I hope one day they react to bts's earliest Bon Voyage videos lol

bia

jungkook is such a cry baby like it’s waterworks for that man 24/7 😭😭 he was in full on tears during bts’ paris show last month lmaoooo. like red face, full snot box, gasping for air, chin trembling 🤣🤣 such a sensitive person. it’s sweet tho

Divina Izzard

Need to watch Xceleste "BTS Hardships 2013-2021". It wasn't just JHope getting negative comments. There is so much more like the members getting death threats and being looked down upon. Even now there have been negative comments of RM and JHope.

bia

:( yea i’ve noticed that they have been getting a lot of hate ever since they came back this year. like they’ve always been hated on, but this year it’s just too much. and it’s from like every demographic too like almost all of my irl and online kpop friends just hate bts and they never have an actual reason when i ask. and online u see so many fans of western artists just hate them and even ur average person who isn’t even interested in music like that just hates them. it’s def shocking to see/hear the things ppl say abt them

Bri

As an RM bias, they were doing him so dirty with these hairstyles 😂 it feels like all the experimental hair went to him!

mina

i liked it tho😂😂

Ana

He’s such a tease lol

S Moonchild⁷

I am not blaming Korean artists for not knowing and going to the concert of a very famous and "accepted" American artist. Especially when the abused side and their husband support and follow the artist. Kpop community is blaming BTS for everything. Also on Eastern side of the world not everyone follows celebrity drama. And no, lyrics for War of Hormone are not misogynistic, people are just making a fuss. Sorry I had to say this

bella⁷

AYYYYY FINALLYYY

lemon

well bts have faced hate from the Kpop community ever since their debut and I really don't care about the reasons after all no artist is perfect or free of flaws but this hatred stems from a deep-seated animosity toward anything famous and successful this applies not just to them but to all forms of media however there is a specific type of hate where people claim bts are the children of satan trying to paint them as bad people based on a few poor decisions or incidents that get blown out of proportion

Ana

Great reaction. I’m standing by rm and Jhope. F that noise. It’s all internet hate and performative anyway that’s why I don’t take any of it seriously. And I hope the members don’t either. I’m pretty sure they are use to this nonsense anyway. Loved this episode RM carries alot on his shoulders. He’s one of the members that’s gotten the most hate since the beginning and always along side Jimin. There’s a reason Jimin isn’t on social media like that. But yeah I echo others saying to watch the hardship video it barely touches on all the hate but it does show the hate most members got for absolutely no reason, one of the reasons for Tae still makes my blood boil. And Jhope is just bs because they don’t consider him attractive enough so they lie and say no talent. Like just weirdos because there’s nothing ugly about Jhope. He’s so 😮‍💨😮‍💨 But on a lighter note I loved the extra scenes this episode they were so fun but also showed two peak dances. Idc War of hormone is a bop lol. Can’t wait for the dance practices fake love, idol and dna are sooo good and hype.

020125

it’s the way most army’s want war of hormone as their surprise song

Ana

Lmaooo you ain’t lying. I wished they still performed it

bia

yea it kinda reminds of how everyone just hates taylor swift bc she’s the biggest thing in music rn. like ppl forget that she’s a human being with feelings. she isn’t just a punching bag

Rae

^^^THIS PLEASE

Jenna Antonelli

War of Hormone is still in heavy rotation for those who understand what the concept was trying to express and its a bop. Literally a song about being a horny teenager..what is more relatable? Anyways, as always I dont let the noisy drama ruin my enjoyment of being an army <3

lemon

whether they know it or not, bts aren't the only artists involved the entire industry supports and attends cb concerts It is unfortunate yes, but it isn't bts fault. cb is highly admired among idols we could easily list the times they’ve cited him as their role model for singing and dancing, whether recently or in the past yet the kpop community is hypocritical and performative they don't actually care they simply want a reason to make bts less popular so their own favorites can shine, but the reality is different no one really makes a fuss about attending a concert by a singer like cb

*Explanation behind the dance performance at the end of the extra scenes*: They were performing this dance for MBC Gayo 2014. Well lets just say it was blatantly the worst videography anyone has ever seen in the industry at that point. Not even exaggerating there is genuinely points where NOBODY, not even the back up dancers, are on screen because they were just filming a random part of the side stage. That dance was really hard, required a lot of backup dancers and practice, and had a lot of "wow" parts but MBC basically caught none of it because they were filming random parts of the stage or not focusing on the members (even the machine gun part they didn't fully catch because they were recording the audience). BTS and BigHit got so pissed off that it was recorded so horribly after they worked so hard on the dance that they did their own whole huge performance of it, got super nice lighting, and got MULTIPLE camera angles (moving, static, high vs low, etc.) and basically compiled a performance video with 3 of the top camera angles as a big fuck you to MBC lmao. Basically saying since you can't do your job we're gonna do it for you! Heres the link to the MBC performance if you wanna see how bad it was lol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWuNi-OLLgU

corLeonis

Please watch the choreo for Run BTS pleaseee, if you havent watched it yet

Jenna Antonelli

LOL 'Let's watch that one more time' Oh you can, the fully video has several types of camera work, to make a point against the award show that botched their performance camera work LMAO You can watch that a bunch of different times in one vid.

Amber Wilmot

Yeah I was gonna say that if you are successful but also one of the few at the top with success and success doesn’t just mean money but just the fact that they’re number 1 in the world and for so long now will make many people hate them. People will just start hating you even over the simplest of things like “oh I see them too much everywhere or I hear about them too much”. Which is the most fucked up reason for hating on them. And it’s so annoying bcuz people will say that but the moment they were to become successful in some way and started getting recognition they’d be loving but when it’s not happening to you or to something or someone you like then they just hate which is so immature. BTS didn’t hurt them nor have they done anything themselves to deem themselves evil or anything so there’s literally no reason for you to hate. Just so immature.

E L

Omg what a great idea!

G. A

What are the chances that just when Namjun and Hobi are going through the backlash again, this is the video that Geks react to?... Personal opinion (I hope this doesn't sound like an excuse): it's okay to feel disappointed as a fan and stop supporting them, but being annoying and encouraging unnecessary hate is something we K-pop fans need to let go. It's like we forget that artists are also human and make mistakes all the time. About the Spaz choreography at the end, I remember seeing it all over Facebook, but I didn't have the slightest idea what K-pop was.

Ac R

It's okay to be disappointed and want an apology or some sort of acknowledgment but none of that was received. They make mistakes but the picture with that man after, the videos, etc. not a good look at all. Don't know what they were thinking

11 effy

I can't wait for u guys to get into all their solo documentaries it was so gooooood for me personally I like suga and hope document the most

G. A

I completely agree. I could be wrong and my judgment might be clouded, but what I meant was that the fans themselves want them to disband and even d*ad. That's crazy to me.

Sarah kim

Thanks for the reaction guys! It was fun 😆 💜 Btw I wanna recommend jhope lollapalooza 2022 full performance for the next poll ✨ 🛐

Judleart - Julie DL

Hello! I’m really thankful for the reaction! I laughed really loud when you reacted at the machine gun in the dance practice! 😂 Also, I just want to express that disappointment or critic is not always hate. Loving someone dont mean to accept or excuse everything they do. It’s ok and important to question things. I’m sad that they endorse Gemini, as artist I don’t understand it. CB represents violence against women, he’s not a safe person, he shouldn’t be allowed to perform like that after what he did. By saying that I’m not hating on bts, I’m not accusing them of the same crime too. I feel sad about it still. it’s fair to point it, to express disappointment. It’s the same with the Harry Potter franchise, it’s not okay to support it today, not when we know that the money is directly going into jk rolling anti-trans funds. We can evaluate and we have the right to express ourselves. Even BTS encourage that in their music, they help lots of people, women to feel better, empowering in their life. I’m really happy for the album reaction this Friday! It’s a really good one! xxx

Angel

cannon pics of u eating the wasabi or it didnt happen!

Honey⑦

I start enjoying BTS, watching videos, and then again comes people telling what happened was "performative". Pure hate is always performative(except for criminals) and I will always stand for it. No one should be hated if they r not outright criminals and yoongi's situation in military flabergasted me. BUT, the valid criticism jhope and rm recieved for being 1. Tonedeaf and 2. Silent was valid and all of you guys being happy it died down, saying it was "performative" Etc is just sad, not even upsetting. Watching abuse growing up, this situation and some of the comments made me realise how shelled some girls have been in life that nothing makes them upset and while thats good, m happy you never get upset or disrespect thru abusers but wheres rhe empathy? Is online hate bigger than physical abuse soo many women face? And I dont support either. And how funny is it that watchi ng ROB makes me think bow that how members just made a mistake and ofc they e such nice people who went thru so much and i feel empathatic but also upset coz this is the BTS I love, who has always been good. Who has always taken a stand-against any form of injustice. Be it be jin speaking up against sajegi to RM at UN and stoo asian hate, to anti racism and black lives matter to snubbing grammys. They they always take a stand. So when something big like literally snt cb happens, why isnt the same empathy you r showing rm and jhope and members for their hardships, and discrimination they faced-shown to millions of women who dreaded watching such a distinguished oerson like rm and jhopne next to a criminal? Is the empathy only for celebrities you like? Becoz their life is on camera and you can see the hardships? The ones behind it, women, dont matter? M not saying anyone should go hate them. That woukd be rubbish. But I respect RM and BTS sm and thats why I expect that respect back. Being all empathatic about them being hated on and then saying women were being "performative" To voice their valid dissatisfaction on not seeing a criminal smiking next to idols/human they respect and love has to be hipocracy and performance. If you have empathy for ome person, you gotta have for others too. If u r ready to understand why members would've made a decision to go to concert(which i did) then you must also understand the point of women who love and respect them(i did). Both can be right sometimes. This time, the actuak criticism of being respectfull to criminals, enjoying ur life near a rapist and abuser, then staying dead silent- was valid. Hate is never an option. But please for gods sake, dont term every emotion and outburst to performance. M happy this goes blown out as i know mwmbers must have seen the upset they caused, and i know they will introspect. I have np with WOH. It is a fun song. But this time, it wasnt just crazy women screeming for an idol to not date. It was women wanting to voice their opinion on a topic like abuse.

Nikita

Yayyy RoB is back! As others have mentioned already, PLEASE WATCH I NEED U, RUN, AND BUTTERFLY before the next episodes. I sent you guys the links in other comment sections before. I'll send again in Discord before next week's schedule.

Jhope was always the dance leader since the beginning

Hyeunrby

Can't wait for the next episode! I need U is what got me into bts!!

Ana

@honey please don’t assume others lives. I’m not sheltered and have had hardships. Stuff that’s super bad. That’s why idc that they went to concert. It’s not that deep at all to me. Y’all put BTS on this high pedestal and then act shocked or hurt when you realize they are just normal humans that y’all chose to idolize. Did Jhope or RM abuse anyone? Nope. BTS are not responsible for your trauma. Direct that energy to the abuser himself. He who has a bigger platform than BTS. And that’s where this becomes performative. Chris been thriving for years and none of y’all cared. Majority of the industry has worked with, listen to his music, went to concerts and none of y’all cared. BTS has listened to, sang, and did dance covers to his music. Y’all hype and request the 3J dance cover specifically for the take you down part. And none of y’all cared. Tae and Jungkook listened to Chris the night before namjoon and Jhope went to the concert. And no one cared. Majority of the artists work with Chris. And not any of them has received the amount of hate namjoon and Jhope has received. Y’all act like they murdered someone. Even Taekook went mostly unscathed and they listened to him the night before. It’s performative af because none of y’all cared until now. Y’all been knew they like Chris brown and suddenly y’all care?? No one cared until Jhope and namjoon went to the concert. The outrage is so fake and being dragged. It’s also being used in dumb fan wars by people who don’t care about abuse or racism. This whole thing just became a hate on BTS and all their haters jumped on the bandwagon like usual. I have empathy for abused victims I know plenty of them in my life. And a lot of them have said they don’t care about them going to the concert. So just speak for yourself. Until actual proof of BTS abusing or being actual racist comes out. I’m supporting the members always. And letting the outrage stay on the internet because that’s the only place it stays. None of it matters in real life. Because no followers have been lost and no concert tickets have been sold. So yes it’s performative. If you don’t support it that’s fine. But everyone doesn’t have to agree with you

Geev

At least my bad day is no getting worse, thankyou geks

Tata

Finally the main event again 🤩

Anya

😂😂

Gatha Naranath

The timing was def crazy with the current events. I do get why war of hormone was said to have misogynistic lyrics. However I don’t at the same time lol. The song is called War of hormone I think it’s obvious the song is about a young boy especially teenage boy or youth think about these things. And the lyrics about women in most American songs especially in hip hop is crazy. They legit objectify us like crazy and get away with it😭I wish bts just changed the lyrics cause it’s actually such a crazy catchy song😭especially the chorus. Only the little line Jungkook sang was taken as offensive. It’s too bad

d ⁷

#gekpopdisband soon trending on twitter

d ⁷

I was at paris both concerts, as soon he started crying everyone beside me started crying as well😭😭😭

S Moonchild⁷

They are smart enough to understand and not post a video of concert if they knew about backlash and everything. So I am assuming they didn’t know. I didn’t know about CB and this whole issue until I learned english in middle school and was interested in celebrity drama

tangerine⁷

Next episode is truly the rise of bangtan

Sabrina99

Okay so in my opinion, it is not acceptable to go to a Chris brown concert when you build your entire Plattform on fighting for women’s rights, rights of minorities etc. Especially since they didn’t just listen to his music in private but went to his concert and posted several stories with him on public accounts. By doing this, they promoted him since their whole online presence (that’s the whole point of public social media accounts of celebrities) is the promotion of them, their music etc. Considering all this, I think they do have to apologise or at least address the issue. And South Korea is not a country without internet access and bts are one of the biggest celebrities in the entertainment industry. Therefore, the argument that they didn’t know and couldn’t have known is just bs. However, I don’t think they should be cancelled. Holding them accountable is not hate and is required especially due to their whole foundation. Just my opinion since some people here are defending them blindly. I’m a fan since 2016 and I went to three concerts (traveled twice to a different country for them) and I’m able to differentiate between „hate“ and holding them accountable 🤷🏼‍♀️

Nana

Pls do I need u and born singer reactions soon :) both are soo good

Célia Boyer

It was in Paris, but yeah, he was sad to leave Europe...

Honey⑦

You said yourself to not assume others lives.Maybe you shoudnt do that to others too. You personally may not have an issue but why does it makes the ones having an issue "performative".You are entitled to your opinion and choices.Maybe even after knowing the absurdity of abuse and how these men live on fame and ego,you maynot care about someone like RM/Jhope similing near him like that, and tbh thats your opinion. But ,similarly, those who were and are upset about it have an opinion dont they? Why is your opinion or choice to not care more supirior than theirs? Why are those who r criticing not allowed to and r called performatives but those who delivberately choose to ignore it coz THEY dont care not?Thats what the problem is.And these things dont ever apply on the members' personal lives. We should never question who they r dating, or what their hobies are or if they tripped while being on a scooter. But what we CAN question is the need to be near a known abuser and the need to tell a man supporting diddy that they r honored to meet him.Do I respect BTS less for it?No. But do I think the criticism is performative. Also no. You can have your opinions and choose to not care if the members tand next to cb,usher, diddy or trump next. But dont go around laughing and downplaying women who were rightfully upset terming it as something hypocritical. Thats all I have to say.M not asking why dont tu care, but if u dont care about them being near cb,you shouldnt care about women being angry either. That is performative and hypocritical. . Also, yes I very much hate both pf those men and if possible would kill them but I wont ever think like that for the memebrs.Former is hate, later is criticism.Differentiate the two. but the "platform" they have is given by people who thinj like you.You said you dont care , similarly ,other people who dont care give him the platform,RM andJHope unknowingly did the same thing. You cant counter a comment by saying 'direct hate at him,he has a big platform' whilst saying you dont care if people attend his concerts.

gomin

I am not sure what songs will be selected for the dance practice video but please consider adding “swim dance practice SKETCH” to see more of jhope dance leader mode 😎

Snooze

Have y'all seen that cursed clip that was shown when they were on weekly idol? Their hairstyles just kept getting worse progressively.

Snooze

1. It's performative because nobody had any issue when they worked with diplo or when jimin mentioned chris brown in the rolling stone interview. The reason people are acting like this right now is because many other people acting like this. It's the herd mentality and it makes them feel like they're morally superior for calling bts out but these morals were nowhere to be seen when they worked with diplo on arirang. Some people don't even know what exactly happened and are acting enraged after listening to a tiktok from random person or reading a post. 2. Bts were there for Usher and not Chris brown and they made that very obvious by only posting Usher on their socials and not him even though they did take a photo with him. As for why they took that photo with him, they obviously can't refuse him if he asks for a photo with them at his own concert but they still didn't want to associate themselves with him so they didn't post their picture with him. They clearly don't "support an abuser" 3. I get that you went through a lot in your life but k-pop idols are not the ones to bear your personal experiences or past traumas. If I have had a very bad past with an alcoholic person then that doesn't mean I get to hate on bts for drinking. 4. Literally every artist/k-pop group have associated themselves with Chris brown(or people like him) but only bts are getting hate for it. Rihanna herself has collaborated with Chris brown multiple times after the incident so does that mean she's "supporting" her own abuser?

Snooze

I really don't get why people hate on other people for using AI. Like I know how bad it is for the environment and certain sections of the society but at the same time it's quite hypocritical to say such things while using apps and services with ai. Also every new advancement in science has its pros and cons but that doesn't stop it from happening. Ai has been adopted globally by almost all the companies and one just can't avoid it so why not just focus highlighting the correct ways to use it and making laws punishing people for its misuse. I'm a vegetarian and I(personally) find it morally wrong to kill animals to eat them but that doesn't mean I get to hate on non- vegetarians. That's just not how it works. You can't hate on people based on morals because morals are different for everyone. Hate is only warranted when a person does something unlawful.

kooskyu

ah yeah it was paris, will correct it. thank youuuu

Snooze

They didn't go to a Chris brown concert. They were there for Usher. And they didn't post anything with Chris brown on their socials. Chris brown posted that photo with them. Them only posting about Usher and not him on their socials made it so obvious that they do not want to be associated with him and nor do they support him. Btw bts did not build their entire platform fighting for women's rights. They build their platform by their music that contains their personal stories and experiences. Yeah they've made some songs about these topics but they did not build their entire platform around it.

ana

now who tf said #gekpopdisband 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Snooze

I also want to clear something up about the war of hormone debate. Everyone interprets songs differently and everyone is free to feel whatever they want about that song. There's just a slight mistake in the translations of the lyrics of this song that a lot of people call misogynistic. The lyric "women are equations, men do them" is wrong. The actual translation is "The girlsl are equations and us guys are solutions"

Yasmine

@ Snooze Idk what circles you guys are exposed to but there was definitely lots of people calling out diplo and expressing their concern about that association. It was the same for several other collaborations, although clearly this time, the outrage was quite loud. Anyway, I don't think your 4th point is sensible. Just because other idols/public figures "got away" with no backlash, doesn't mean that BTS should be protected from criticism. I personally despise the idea of associating with abusers and criminals in any way. Rihanna interacted with CB despite their past but that doesn't mean it's an objectively sensible decision and that's okay. We're not perfect. Criticism is still valid regardless. The two things can be true at once.

Judleart - Julie DL

I understand your point, but once more I didn’t said hate. Ai is not really regulated, we still use it without any restrictions and I think that’s something we should consider too. Working in art right now is really hard and discouraging honestly, ai is ravaging for lots of artists. It’s really hard to protect your own work, it’s also hard to find jobs and contract in those specific field etc. Anyway.

Jack

Ohh sounds interesting

jemmy

As others have said, watch “I Need U,” “Prologue: Young Forever,” “Butterfly,” “Run,” “Epilogue: Young Forever,” and the WINGS Short Films #1–#7. 🦋 There are MANY more songs and content tied to the BTS Universe that I’m not including because I don’t want to overwhelm or overstimulate you guys. But these are some really good starting points if you want to get into the BTS Universe. The BTS Universe, also known as HYYH, is actually what got me into BTS in the first place. 💜

@lily where was your morals and activism against Usher when he collaborated with jk? I don't support selective activism

Snooze

That I completely agree with. Artists have suffered a lot because of ai and I think that's why we need to demand more laws around it and be more restrictive of its usage. I think Jin is one of them members who has very openly expressed his dislike for ai and I appreciate that a lot. I also appreciate that he doesn't force the other members to have the same views.

@Sally they everywhere with this bullshii take its tiring and performative

mina

Yes, back then RM's name was more known that BTS'. He did many side quests to get more attention to BTS🥹

Sokha637

Don’t know how many times a watch it ! Never get tired love it soo much ..can’t wait for the next episode.thanks you 💜💜💜💜

Kira🤪

Yes and make sure it’s the explicit version!!

Sasha (Yare Yare Daze)

I agree with your comment but the fact that J-Hope and RM have just completely ignored the fans calling them out for that is so disappointing for me. Someone on tiktok listed like 60 different cancelable events BTS members have done and I'm not interested enough to go through that and mostly these are blown out of proportion as you said. But they should have that much power to not abandon their ideals for sucking up to some big western artist. I thought RM was a well known feminist before this. And no it is not okay to literally go to someone's concert even just enjoying music as such a public figure especially to that kind of mans concert who is so far away from BTS's so called reputation. I also expected RM to be a bit more prideful than that.

everything you are saying is nonsense so I ask you to seek help
