Hey guys!

This is the color of the studio walls! I was wrong, I had mentioned previously they seemed more blueish, but no. It's purple. Hehe! It's a bit of a cooler purple than in the previous room, and I dig it. I feel it works as a nice color as a background for vids.

Painting was finished today. Now, we move on to adding a ton of outlets all over the room. Every 3 feet I think. I can never have enough outlets. haha! After that, will be ceiling lights, then floors, then... WE MOVE IN!

I wanted to share a video where I sat down to write down the album track list and talk a bit about where I'm at. If you'd like to watch, here's the link!

Thank youuu!

So excited for this album! The hype for me is so real right now I can't wait! :D

One step, then two.... looking good and thanks Malu for sharing this. Always nice to see things moving forward ;) hum oh ye, the room is looking good, would love to be there to thump on the walls but ... shhhhh !

Anthony James Robinson

I honestly think you're doing a great job with the vlog videos, if anything I want moooorreeee hahaha.. It'd be nice to have vlogs fixed around a topic.. like music influences or projects you're working on.. maybe new singing techniques or guitar techniques you're learning, so we can see the process behind it? :) Seeing the history of Malukah and where it all came from (influences, etc) would be really cool! And your rambles are the best hahaha.. we like rambles!

The percentages remind me of a quote about software engineering: "The first 90 percent of the code accounts for the first 90 percent of the development time. The remaining 10 percent of the code accounts for the other 90 percent of the development time" :D How does it apply for songwriting?

Molmod

Nice job getting the list put together. I'm looking forward to hearing the final result. p.s. the purple looks grey on my monitor :-)

malukah

Hehehe! It's a grey-ish purple. :D It kinda looks grey in real life, too. And I can't wait to finish writiiiiiiiiing!

malukah

I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Dr. Piet! I think once I have a clearer idea of the arrangements and instrumentation of the songs, they will find their place themselves on the track list. :) I am curious to compare this experience will All of the Above. Since the styles in AotA jump from Pop/Rock, to Rock, to Adult Contemporary... hahaha! It was a bit strange trying to find an order. I think this album, style-wise will be more cohesive... Ahhhh... we'll see. We'll see. But it's exciting for sure!!!!

malukah

hahahahaaha! YES. This can apply to lyrics, too. hahahaha! I would say that 90% is getting the concept of the song, a sketch of what each verse will say, and the chorus hook. Once you have that, it seems that you will soon finish it because all you have to do is find the words... and then the actual other 90% starts. hahaha! :D

malukah

Hahahaha! :D Glad you like the rambles. hahahaha! :D And yes! Great idea in choosing different topics. And I think music influences is the perfect way to start. Thanks for the suggestion, Ant!

malukah

Hehe! Oh, man. I am trying so hard to be patient. The things left to do are smaller in comparison to the construction, but it seems to be taking longer to get everyone to show up, and get the materials, etc. I am in my mind tapping my foot all day. hahaha! But, soon. I hope one more week. Pleeeeeease let it be just one more week!

malukah

hahaha! The fact that you feel hype makes ME feel more hype! hahaha! This is so cool! I always hesitate before sharing things like this because I wonder if I should say anything in case I can't make something happen... A sort of "keep possible failure private". haha! A comment like yours makes me realize that it's soooo good to share because then I feel I'm not working on this alone!!! Yaaaaaaay!!!! Makes it twice the fun! Thanks, Brie!

John M Weeks

Yea the closer it gets to being done the harder it becomes to wait,..... that was just an hour?? I thought it was all day !! ...... type of thing. It will get there Malu, it will get there and it will be worth it in the end . At least thats what TheOldBlock told me the other day, but ehhh he a bit Loco anyway ;?

malukah

Hehehehehe! Braelyn! <3 <3 <3 <3

Heidi

Thank you for sharing the progress on your new album, super excited for release day :D Were you going to make a separate Skyrim album? I can't remember if you said that or not. The walls look pretty, though it honestly looks grey instead of purple to me :P And you can never have too many outlets :3

malukah

Yep! There's going to be a separate Skyrim album. As soon as the studio is done, I'll be recording Ragnar and Vokul Fen Mah so that I can bundle them up with the rest of the covers and release them in one album. :) And the wall color is definitely a greyish purple. Hehe! I remember in the old studio, I had 8 outlets (well, 2 outlets per box) and there was a point I was using them ALL. ahhahaa! :D

TianhongXiong

Well well well Malu! I have tried dozen's of ways to buy your musics in Amazon, Google Play or itune...Always fail to process my credit card! It only works in Bandcamp, i m going crazy! Anyway find you here=) I have watched your latest video link here, fantastic! And....hmm, tell me a place to download your Reignite and Rise from the dark, or send me via Email ( c14talpha2012@126.com ) ? I will pay via paypal to you, but at first please provide your paypal account =)thank you! Do you have any plan to make a BIG album for all your video game musics, and another BIG album for your other songs? Oh, another thing is, waiting for your hand writing letter jajajajajajaja XD.....

malukah

It's so strange that all those other music sites had problems with processing payments. But, glad we coincided on Bandcamp! I hope to make an original album, and a Skyrim album, and a Christmas album in the winter. Hehehe! :D Maybe I could put all of the other covers together on another "covers" album, too. This could be a cool idea! I look forward to writing and sending your letter, Tianhong! :D

TianhongXiong

Aha, No matter how many albums you create, my goal is to COLLECT THEM ALL=) Just please remember to inform me once any album or CD is available. Keep going Malu! :D

malukah

Haha! This is awesome. I will! :D <3 <3 <3 Thanks again!

firjii

Ditto. Some rooms in my house only have 1 outlet per wall, so I almost own stock in extension cord companies. Just think of all the devices that have a massive brick for an adapter!! (Why does something as small as a label maker need something so large to plug in? We'll never know... :-))

Dennis Gerber

Wow getting such insight in th eplanning of an album is really exciting. What release period do you hav ein mind´``?

malukah

It will likely be released in the fall. I wanted to try to release it in the summer, but I'm going to be releasing a Skyrim album first. :D It's a lot of fun for me to get to share the process with you guys here!

Dennis Gerber

Take your time. Being rushed never was good for art. Will the Skyrim Album be all new Songs like the one above or will it include your old covers too? I hope The Dragonborn comes will be on it. Looking forward to this! Oh nearly forgot this - will both albums be released as physical cd or just as digital release?
