it was like head phones vs concert. The Master resonates

Kristian Ask (St.Kizza)

Not only does it get "bigger", but all the minor details are much more clearer. Jaime did an amazing job!

Mikael Lindberg

Holy crapity crap, hats off to Jaime! Awesome work! Can’t wait to hear more!

Nephilim1977

Can't wait for it! Sounds fantastic!

Linda Rawenna Strandberg

The original in itself is wonderful, but with the mastering from Jamie it gets yet another dimension, it sounds amazing!

It sounds incredible! Really looking forward to these! I feel like the biggest difference is there's much more stereo separation in the mastered versions. Almost like there's a chorus or spatial audio processing happening. It's a much wider sound stage, compared to your mixes which sound a lot more centered and monaural even though they're clearly stereo.

I am awful when it comes to recognizing audio quality, but it was fascinating to hear these side by side! I think your original mastering revolves a lot around your vocals, which makes plenty of sense for your style. What these remasters seem to do is turn the instrumentation up to match the epic quality of your vocals, and it's the kind of thing that turns a 10/10 track into an 11/10!

Christer Lind

I'm not a musical genius so the only difference I heard was the volume

Heike

Thank you for sharing this. It was fascinating to listen to the the differences. Although I do not know much aboutmixing and mastering I find it very interesting. I'm really looking forward to more of those audio peeks.

I loved the previous versions of both songs very much, however, the mastered versions are INCREDIBLE! They sound so full and sharp. I can´t wait to hear all of it. Plus re-selling Skyrim covers for the second time is very à propos. :-D But just like with Skyrim, I would buy it many more times. <3

That mastered version's waveform is looking pretty brickwall-y in the louder parts there. Yeah, it does sound bigger and wider, but I hope this won't come at the cost of dynamics. For example, In Fields of Ard Skellig, that part you compare starting at 6:15 in the video, the mastered version almost sounds like it's choking on its own bigness. As a test, I just increased the volume on the player when you replayed that part from the original version, and it actually sounded better to me, cleaner and less compressed.

TheAlb

That is something I wondered (or something to keep in mind) myself to some degree as well. I'm just looking at the wave forms as they appear in the program. However I can't judge myself, how much of an impact that has. Be it my speakers and/or my listening abilities. For me the orginal still sounded "smaller / less open" in these parts from listening to what you shared.

TheAlb

The re-mastered version sound significantly different, they feel (to me) more open, bigger, cleaner or just generally more of 2 great songs. So, yes. I'm liking it. It seems to me a very good idea :). .. yes .. more :D.

Sounds like mom and sister looove your music. And I do too <3
