Hmmn. I added compression to the voice and I'm not sure I like it... it's more radio like... but I don't know. I think I'm going to take that off when I upload it to spotify

¡Aye chihuahua! Your voice sounds so smooth and soothing! Haha!

Zack Wagner

Hahahaa.. I could sit here and listen to you read the phone book. In all seriousness, you should work with Audible, and narrate a book. Then also write the background music for it as well. Just a thought.

As one of the least morning people I know, you have completely lost me at the idea of getting up earlier and earlier, even with the personal benefit it comes with. My own personal benefit in that scenario is "I get to sleep more" which is so much more important to me! 🤣 My morning alarm is set for 6:38 so I can start working at 7, which is an improvement over what it used to be since I now work from home full time. But without the wrath of an alarm, I'll get up anywhere between 8 and 12, depending on so many things.

Dante knows mommy's love for office supplies already?!

Oh wow! Did I just hear my name in that podcast?! 8-O That makes me so happy to know that my comment was meaningful because I do enjoy that background track so much and would soooo love to hear more creations like that from you Malukah! I can't wait to hear what you will come up with!! :-D

I'm not a morning person at all. So I always end up staying up way later than I should, but my morning alarm (during the week) is set to 6:35 (the light turns on automatically 5 minutes earlier) which is way too early I guess since I need to leave for work at 7:50. But since I generally can't bring myself to hurry in the morning I hide in the bathroom for at least half an hour with a hot shower or bath to slowly wake up. That leaves the internet addict in me a couple minutes to check my email, pack my bag and head to work.

4:30? -- I'm just getting to BED at 4:30!! .........you morning people baffle me.

@Zach Wagner..."Hahahaa.. I could sit here and listen to you read the phone book." My other favorite Patreon/You-tube person, Barbara, just did this last week in her native Slovene. Perhaps Malu can follow up and start a new trend? And Malu, your voice is warm and soothing.. but can you do a pod-cast with..... REVERB? :D

I would honestly love to hear you read fantasy books In your own way. As if you were reading to your child. I always enjoyed my mom reading like that. It doesn't have to be extra woth all the voices ect. But just reading it In your way. Imbsure people would love to hear you read the lord of the rings or the hobbit or perhaps the chronicles of Narnia.

I think you have a very nice, soothing voice that you can listen to for for hours on end. I am not a fan of audiobooks, but i think i would actually listen if it was you reading it. And i i agree with Andy.. getting up at 4.30 am? i am still up by then hehe, usually i get to bed around 7 am or so. And usually get up around 11 am or so. Then again i am medically retired and don't actually have to get up early. And while i was working, it was always the nightshifts, so always been a nightowl.

I can only agree with tje other commens: Your voice sounds nice and soothing - nothing like a chihuahua at all. 🙈 But as you said, it is different how one hears their own voice from inside when speaking compared to hearing it on a recording. I can so understand your reaction "that's not me" - I have the same reaction hearing. But as I am taking singing lessons (that is one of my life's dreams, learning to sing properly) I have to get used to it, if I want to become better. I am normally an evening person and would get up l later in the morning (around 8 or 9). But what I hate most is being in a hurry in the morning, so on the three days a week that I have to be at work at 7:30, I get up at 5:10 to have enough time for a relaxed shower and then my tea and toast.

To be honest, I'm not sure I like the compression on your voice either. I found your breathing on this one a little distracting. Not sure if that's the compression amplifying your breath? As soon as you started telling the story about Dante going in to your studio, I knew exactly where the story was going! My kids undo much of my progress on any of my projects ALL the time. It's super frustrating, but just part of how they learn. It gets better as the "newness" wears off, and as they get older. I had the same experience how different people hear my voice. I don't think I have a particularly great voice for anything, but one of my coworkers kept telling me every time I got a conference call with her that she just loves listening to my voice, and that I should narrate audio books! I personally cringe every time I hear my own voice on a recording. Your podcast voice is definitely very soothing and relaxing though. Even your normal speaking voice is relaxing, but maybe not quite a soothing. Certainly not chihuahua like at all though! I always wondered what the "Malukah is Speaking" (aka "Heights") theme was called. You said it was for an indie video game? Which game was it from? I would love to hear more tracks like that as well! If you need visuals to help inspire you, have you tried watching nature or video game videos on YouTube with the sound off? I was also thinking maybe we can send you some images or videos from around the world to help with the inspiration? Personally, I am NOT a morning person. I tried getting up early once. It was HORRIBLE. Sure, there was peace and quiet. But there was also birds chirping. And sun rising. And this uncomfortable need to open my eyes to do things when I just wanted to go back to sleep. Being a night owl, I tend to stay up late instead. I typically get up around 8:00am on weekdays, giving myself just barely enough time to shower and get to work. Weekends I'll usually sleep in until at least 10:00am. But I stay up until 2:00am on a typical night. I also enjoy the silence and being alone, but I'm much more awake and able to enjoy it after everyone else goes to bed around 10:00pm. I usually spend my time doing video games, reading, writing software or tinkering around with technology for fun. I seem to have a habit of writing novels in response to your podcasts. Sorry for being so verbose all the time. There's just always so much I want to respond to!

I get where you are coming from about hearing your own voice played back, it’s never a nice experience! Perhaps it’s down to the fact we are so used to hearing ourselves how we think we sound, but rarely hear it played back to us. Everyone else hears the recording as being “normal” because that’s how they are used to hearing us talk. Your voice however, most definitely sounds very soothing, it’s lovely to listen to. As for mornings? Early mornings?! No way, if I’m awake at 4:30am it means I haven’t gone to bed yet! In fact, I have declared that if I become Emperor of the Universe, mornings will be made illegal! 🤣 Seriously, I have 3 alarms set, and I still struggle to get up in time for work - my staff know to leave me alone as much as possible until I’ve drunk a decent amount of caffeine! I do understand the need for a quiet space to do your own thing though, but for me it’s at the end of the day. For example, right now it’s just turned midnight, and I’ve been listening to this Malukast while painting some 40K miniatures. In the mornings I have zero productivity (unless I’m actually in work), I’m either asleep or wishing I was asleep! 😴

Hey Malukah! 4.30?!? Omg you are motivated 😂 I'm having troubles already with 6.30 in order to start working by 8 😅 I don't know, I was always a night bird and it's easier for me to stay up late to do the stuff then waking up in the morning before anyone. Even though I might prefer that, I still cannot find that thing that would make me get up from that comfy bed in the morning xD I don't remember if I mentioned it as well earlier, but I agree - you definitely do have a relaxing voice. It's very nice to listen to you, I enjoy it so much, honestly. And I agree about the soundtrack in the background - it's amazing! I'd definitely encourage you to try to compose more of those, I think you could evem sell them for different purposes - short videos, game soundtracks, voice backgrounds, etc. I think there is a wide range of possibilities, just waiting for you ☺️ Until next time, lots of fun with Dante 😂🥰

4.30 aaaaargh... never again... I used to get up for work at 3.30 am when I worked early shifts as I need half an hour to wake up, shower, eat something and prepare everything to drive to work, that also takes me a half hour. So I used to be at the job around 4.30 am to start at 5... (as I desperately needed more caffeine before actually starting..) I'm so happy that I did internal rotation and now I can choose when to start between 7 and 10 am.. :) Also helps a lot with driving the daughter to school or picking her up, depending on my wife's working schedule. :)
