Hey all! Hoping to have v1.0 of the Alternate Blood Hunter done by tomorrow, but I wanted to give you all a sneak peek of an original Occult Order (subclass) I created.

The Order of Undying Thirst is all about Vampirism! Granting you an increased level of control over your Blood Rites and abilities to play with temporary Hit Points, this should satisfy all of your vampiric needs.

I've also included the optional True Vampirism rules from my Vampiric Soul Sorcerous Origin for those who want to really play as a vampire.

Let me know what you think!

When you make a Vital Sacrifice for a Blood Rite, do you use the increased Rite Die for the Sacrifice as well, or only for the *effects* of the Blood Rite? Also, I do wonder if there shouldn't be some kind of hard limit on how many times you can Misty Escape. But I might be underestimating just how many Vital Sacrifices a Blood Hunter in a difficult fight would already be making.

Does the bigger Rite Die apply to the damage of your fangs?

Yes, Vital Sacrifices are a sub-feature of Blood Rites, so the increased Rite Die would apply to them as well. That's why I gave them easy ways to generate temporary hit points. For Misty Escape, 13th level is fairly high-level play - I'm currently running a party at that level, and this sort of feature would help a Blood Hunter keep up with full spellcasters, etc.

No, not currently. I think 1d4 + STR is pretty good. That's what a Monk gets for unarmed strikes, and you also have full martial weapon proficiencies.
