Yeah, I'm doing more angry songs lately. I promise the next few will be hilarious. Just... I gotta get this out of my system before it kills me.

In the few weeks since I wrote this, the US death toll from COVID-19 is just under 130,000. I got the names recited here from the New York Times' Those We've Lost project (  https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/obituaries/people-died-coronavirus-obituaries.html  ), naming victims from around the world.

I see it hasn't taken too long,To pass Korea and VietnamIt peaked and then it hit a plateau,And no one knows how far it will go.

The president kept singing his song,And everything he told us was wrong,In spite of everything that he said,There's a hundred thousand dead.

He left the testing up to the states,He left the people up to their fates,His followers aren't up to the taskOf putting on a stupid cloth mask

He said “we'll open up the country,But who's responsible? It's not me”That blood is on his hands and his headFrom a hundred thousand dead.

Republicans protectingThe businesses from having to takeThe steps to make their jobs safe

No matter what the president doesThe country cannot be what it wasOur families and friends are laid lowAnd no one knows how far it will go....

Tom, music is your outlet. If it is needed to release frustration and anger, use it that way. If it is for the recovery of joy and humor, use it that way. You are magickal. You are able to add a voice to the protest in a far different way than I can, than others can. There is power in song.
