New Lyrics: "Freddy Fennec, the Christmas Fox" (Patreon)

Lar DeSouza did an adorable pic of a fox dressed like Santa. So I did this. Kinda cool jazz -- think of big band, maybe Bing Crosby and a chorus.
Santa’s in charge of bringing toys
To all the good little girls and boys
But who brings underwear, slacks, and socks?
Freddy Fennec, the Christmas fox.
Santa rewards every kid’s good deed
With stuff they want but don't really need
But who brought that shirt in the dull, flat box?
Freddy Fennec, the Christmas fox.
Sanda found him one Christmas eve
Huddled on a stack of wood
He was half frozen, but he was chosen
To come home with Santa for good
Some nice warm milk and a cookie plate
Helped little Freddy, he was feeling great,
He wanted to repay that jolly old elf,
So he claimed the least popular gifts
To deliver himself.
The kids know Santa’s claim to fame,
Mad skills making toys and games,
But they also need clothes and books and shoes,
And if Santa brought those...
All the kids would boo.
So Freddy made himself a hat and coat
And clung to the blade of the sleigh,
And when Santa stopped to deliver gifts,
Freddy placed his and scampered away.
So please don't blame your mom and dad,
You didn't get clothes because you were bad.
You're not being punished, you're not being trolled --
Little Freddy doesn't want you to get cold.
And every December twenty-fifth,
Don't complain about getting a practical gift.
‘Cause you're loved by whoever put it in the box --
And it might've been Freddy Fennec, the Christmas fox!
