[UPDATE, April 10: Due to deep-penetrating cat bites on most of my typing fingers, it'll be a couple more days on these chapters.]

[UPDATE 2, April 11: left index finger is infected, so I can't type. they did an x-ray and there's no cat tooth lodged in there or anything, so I just need to wait a few days for the antibiotics to take care of it. But it's gonna play hell with getting these chapters out. I'm sorry again for the delay.]

Hi, folks. I'm working on chapters 4 to 6 for Book 4, but you may have noticed they're taking longer than I normally prefer.

The chapters are mostly written, and I'd started the editing process, but I wasn't happy with how some of the scenes came out. I'm currently revising some scenes, and completely scrapping and rewriting others. I'll need a couple days to finish the rewrites and a couple days to redo the editing, so it'll probably be four or five days before the next release.

I'm sorry about the delay.

Moving forward for Book 4, I plan to switch from a three-week release cycle to a four-week cycle, to give myself some extra time to revise and publish Books 2 and 3. Once I've caught up on the book releases, I hope to move back to a shorter cycle.

Ivy, if 4 and 5 are done, maybe you could release those then six when your finger has recovered

I write all the chapters for a release at once, and then edit them all at once, not as separate chapters. In this case, the chapters are written, but the quality isn't where I want it to be--a side effect, I think, due to transitioning from the Book 3 finale to the next half of the story. It's at a bit of a lull right now as I reposition everyone for what comes next. I think the finger might be starting to get better; If so, hopefully just a couple days for the pain to subside, then a couple more to finish things up, but that's a best-case scenario. I hate that the chapters are taking so long, but even if I was capable of typing (which I'm not; this paragraph took me 10 minutes), the pain is too distracting to think about the edits I need to make.

No worries. Take care of your health, and use the down time to think of good new plot twists and cliffhangers.
