Thank God the dragon waited to attack until you had time to chronicle it, I was afraid we'd miss it!

Jesse

Very Good set of Chapters. Well worth it.

Aspiring Sage

Yay!! Addiction sated for another day! Thank you Ivy for the chapters. Can't wait to dig in.

Oh nooooo.... man, that is the best cliffhanger yet in your series. Loved what you did with Yassi. My old dream of her being Corec's eight bondmate isn't dead yet!! I can imagine Rezai somehow finding her and helping her get to Corec. And I liked how Barat woke up from his stuper when he heard Corec's name. Favorite scene though was Ariadne with Georg. You must have loved thinking up that scene and writing it. Absolute masterclass!! Man, how am I supposed to wait another 6 weeks for the next set of chapters. This was sooooo good. Thank you Ivy!!

Great set of Chapters, Ivy! Just can't wait for the Book 4 Finale! Couple of things: Do Rusol and Yassi not know of the direction tracing capabilities of the Warden Bond? Yassi running away is doomed to fail if Rusol knows about it. Dragons being magical creatures (being able to fly magically) is quite a revelation. I'm assuming there is some significance to the left leg of the dragon being hit by both Sarette and the ballista crew.

ivyveritas

Rusol will know which direction Yassi's in, but not how far away she is. But you're right ... I should probably tweak the wording there to make it more clear. Sarette hit a rear leg (I don't think I mentioned which one). The ballista bolt hit the dragon's body underneath its front left leg, and I think Ellerie's spell hit that leg itself, just by chance.

Aspiring Sage

Ivy, did Shavala just figure out the secret to giving the Nilvasta their tree bond back? That seemed significant.

Raman BNV

suddenly occurred to me that Rusol's meddling of the Warden bond (by adding a compulsion layer) could have broken the direction tracing capability of the bond...

Bob Clarke

A crackin' read as always, & a hella cliffhanger to leave us on... thanks a bunch lol!!!

Taco1085

thats what I said, Bob...lol

I've updated the relevant paragraph to acknowledge the warden bond's directional sense. It's a very minor change, but it should help clarify things.

Jesse

Yassi is very Fortunate that Leena hadn't been captured by Rusol. Not as fortunate as Leena but still very fortunate.

Jesse

Given the Sanvari attitudes regarding outsiders and the use of their abilities, is it just the Travelers that are so standoffish about being asked to use their abilities for outsiders or is it the Seers and Seekers as well? I am curious if Yassi were to be able to make it to Sanvar and the people were to learn of the Compulsion nature of Rusol's bonds, how that might affect Corec and Yelena (due to Leena and Sarlo).

Aspiring Sage

Ivy, how are you coming along with the next release? Is it looking like it will be the last one for book 4? Can't wait.

ivyveritas

Yes, it'll be the final release for Book 4. I don't have an estimated date for it yet, though.

Ivy, a question about lightning and the Storm Born. The story so far alludes to a lot of storms immediately after the Burning, and there is a reference to the new Gods fighting causing havoc in the Mortal realm. Could the Gods fighting have caused the storms? So, could lightning rods protect team Corec from Kolvi's and Rusol's Lightning Bursts? Also, did Boreas create / engineer the Storm Born after the burning so that they could withstand the storms?

ivyveritas

Stay tuned for more info on the storms that happened during the Burning. As for using lightning rods to protect from lightning magic ... it probably wouldn't help much. Most lightning attacks are directed at a specific target, and are already ignoring any targets they would have been more naturally attracted to. If the caster just summons a storm and lets it go wild, lightning rods might help somewhat, but there are relatively few scenarios where that would make sense--and people would still need to be inside the buildings where the lightning rods are installed in order to really take advantage of the protection. Outside the buildings, the coverage just won't be good enough (the supply runs at Tir Yadar were still dangerous even after the lightning rod idea).

Aspiring Sage

Hey Ivy. Happy Spring Equinox! Any chance we can get a status update for the last release of book 4?

ivyveritas

Still working on it. Real life has intruded so I'm not as far along as I'd like, but I'm making progress.
