Sette doesn't trust her. But she is very big, and must be handled delicately. Let her blab for now.

"Let her blab for now." Then stab her in the bladder and run. That "to your fate" wasn't missed there.

CelebrenIthil

(Those lips are more ogre-like than I expected)

i've been reading this comic almost since it started... like since 2011 at least. i have waited for this for such a long time. i've got the jitters man

"From black I awoke to gold. The Khert! That unseeable arbiter to whom I had for a lifetime sung my spells, at last had a face. And how it beamed! Around me hovered its golden servants, attentive to the needs of the disoriented dead." Ssael wrote about waking up to the khert in its current iteration (or seemingly so). I have a feeling the man Ilganyag speaks of is not Ssael, but Murkoph.

I’m trying to make out what that creature is by the rainbow in the bottom panel. Love this image btw. “Perched on the shoulders of the Makers” is such a beautiful line of prose.

Walker

I'm not sure if this was the intention, but I like the visual of those rainbows at the bottom being more crudely drawn than the rest, as if being created by someone new to the creative process

JarJar

The khert's the ultimate backstory machine! Show us all your secrets!! It's always a bit weird seeing Ilganyag's bird face hanging loose around her waist, I wonder if it ever gets itchy under that beak.

Flyfly

SQUEALS SPOTTED!! ...ah right this was supposed to be about the lore. Surprised that there is a linear history in khert! I kind of assumed it's not a meaningful concept there.

CD

Ethereal colour twins are back, I see! I'm such a sucker for plotlines where people get real Weird about confirming an absence of god/s and make it the problem of all of reality.

Noxae

Storytime before the knife falls... Fascinating to see what the khert was like before!

Rainwalker

Aah, so the Khert keeping memories was not a thing imposed by the makers, but by lady Ilganyag and her friend? Iiinteresting. Is this the mistake she referenced so long ago? Also Sette I know you’re playing your cards close rn but she did just say she’ll lead you to your fate, best skedaddle quick

kaitou

Good plan. Villains are effectively neutralized while they are monologuing.

Madison

I wonder how much of this Sette understands and can put together… I wonder how Duane would react if he were here (what a lying bird probably)…. But also… don’t humans make their own gods? Isn’t that what this man was so desperate to do? Hah.

Josh

So, I guess Ssael made it to the end of the game, charging into heaven to kill God like a good lil JRPG protagonist, then upon finding that not only were there any evil deity bosses to kill but the level was set on pacifist mode, and so he got Lady I to use her creative mode cheat codes so he could go bonkers making the overwrought death fortress he expected.

Taerjaga

"To die for a lie is to awaken in hell." That hits so hard. It feels like it has some strong truth for our world, yet it also feels so bizarre because it only truly makes sense in a fantasy world where the dead can write back and tell us of their regrets and suffering.
