Two pages today! Very fond of that triumphant supervillain shot of Lady Ilganyag on 117, with the crows bowing to her and DarkSette being especially fucked up. Everyone's having such a good day.

Of course pay no attention to whoever the "nemesis" is, Lady Ilganyag will not be taking questions. And he's not a character you've met, so just table that until later. I mean or don't, I ain't your speculation mother.

Good god almighty this was such a brilliant scheme. I'm with Sette here, as awful as this all is- you really gotta respect the craft. It feels like the first time I read Watchmen. I fully, truly have no idea if there's a way out of this.

One of the truest measures of a Magnificent Bastard style villain is in how well you execute the reveal. You don't edit last minute. You don't try to change the reveal of the wicked twist just because a few people or even a score of em saw you pulling the strings. You let em lean into it. You let em gloat. You let them speak with authority about the way the world is because they have done wonders and horrors to make it this way. And they've made sure that there is nothing you can do about it now. It's been a good decade for me getting here. Ya stuck the landing.

The villain shot indeed slaps. And oof and ouch, all those heroic, rally the team moments at the conclusion of the last chapter, confirmed to be part of the plan. (Slight rofl that Quigley is NOT mentioned. My Friends And Zoidberg.)

DarkSette seems to be enjoying watching Sette squirm but even if Lady I's plan succeeds, uh...homie, you and your brother are still dead and presumably can't leave the khert. What do you get out of this, aside from a pat on the head for showing up to prove a point? 🤔

Sette has to drag Anadyne's soul in? So Lady cannot interact through the boundary the same way Sette can? Why, if the First Soul is something of Sessine's creation, it can do what she herself cannot? I feel like we're still not presented with all of the pieces of the puzzle.

So it seems I was right. Lady I’s entire plan was to escape the khert once the silver made her whole, and Sette is needed to rip all the pain ghosts out. What I had NO idea of, that I never once dreamt of, was that Jacaranda might be alive and Lady I was going to send us all on a wild chase to find him!

Here's the my question on all this. If this was all planned so meticulously to get the perfect personality to foster Sette,what are the odds she hot dropped into a family that looks exactly like Sette... I may need to recant my earlier guess that the Man is Magnus the pantsless and instead say it is Nary himself who created Setty in his own image. Or maybe Jab using his new bestie as a seed donor. Gosh the posabilities!
