Someone called these khert memories "flashbacks" the other day and technically they are, but I can't help but think of them more like a logical progression of the narrative - just slightly out of order, temporally. Here are a few very important scenes that just happened to take place six and a half years before a murderous First Silver monster clomped its way into Port Morstorben on Tirnasday. In case it's not quite clear, Sette shoved a memory of Lemuel's into Duane's chest when she ganked him during their last fight. He's living that memory now. Let's see where it goes.

Though f you remember what that memory looked like externally, you probably already know.

Duane’s still alive? Whoever could have predicted this!?

Sometimes it feels like you're a first class chef and I'm just gobbling down what you serve before it's cooled and burning my tongue. Anyway, I like how there's already something in Duane's expression and pose here that just reads as Lem. He looks sharper and a bit more feral? If that makes sense.

Oh shhhhhiiiiiipppp we're getting a Khert-fueled Rashomon treatment of that night? HELL yes. And lil Sette with her lion... she needs a lion on her side rn ):

Oh snap, we're not done in answer town yet! Hold onto your britches, looks like there's one final stop!

I think it's great how much you trust your (generally very committed) readers, but I have to say that without your explanation, the whole "reliving Lemuel's memory wearing Duane's face" is almost impossible to get, much less the fact that it was Sette's act (choice?) to shove a memory into his chest.

I noticed the lion toy starts with an eye button, but then that eye goes missing in the next panel (or perhaps the face appears to be reversed?). Is that significant in some way?

I really love the fire effect! My man is unsure whether to burn or burn up!

Oooh I don’t think I’m ready for these next few pages but I’m very excited. The first glove panel really hit for me, like how it is when you’re in a dream and things are out of place but you’re still playing the part

"Search every den and dovecote" is absolutely the name of the song for this scene, because all of the Aldish scenes are in a Les Miserables style musical. "Search every den and dovecote / every snowdrift, every heap // Crescian vermin hide among us / where the decent Ssaelit sleep" etc. etc.

You know, when she shoved that coat into his torso I wondered whether he'd get access to the memory. !!! Yes! :D
