Honestly my very first thought about the pyre offering was Lemuel (because, well, karma) but then I thought no surely not, but seeing everyone else doubting in the replies is making ME doubt again... the struggle. And baw. Uaid :(

(3) There's talk about the condemned man being Duane, and I think this unlikely by virtue of the fact that Sette seems overall calm? I doubt she'd be quite so fine with things if he were about to get barbecued— unless there was a plan for him to make a grand escape, but that would be an entire chapter and we're wrapping things up now. (4) The kids are hanging out, I enjoy this fact. (5) What does the queen even know about Sette? Is she just an accomplice to the undead Ald? A curiosity per her claws and tail?
