It was fun to finally tell this story. It's a straightforward way to show the foundation Cresce was built on, even if it's a foundation it doesn't live up to all the time. Sonorie isn't really about all this though, right? She has never leaned on populism. But she's finally going whole hog here and, I think, doing a pretty good job.

Her ultimate ambition and what she's done all this for is the Coppers' plan and a final solution to Alderode, but she's not gonna go in dry. Foreplay first. She needs trust.

So the evening's performance has been upgraded to a show and dinner then?

Very interesting story. I always love your world building, Ashley. Now who the heck is this the roast of?!

Mister Scarecrow

The fact that I'm just now putting it together that nearly every Cresian character in this work has had a 4 letter name. ☠️

Alight

Oh my stars, this is brilliant. The four letter surnames (and possibly firstnames) are a carryover from natural selection-ish. You conniving, clever linguist.

Also! Those who are killed for greed/gluttony/desperation are fed “To the blessed”? Like the twins? Like to Sette? Who is then eventually eaten herself? (I know it’s obvious, it’s just that they’d be very crispy.)

Stretch Andrews

It's always funny when some random fact that you've talked about finally comes up in the comic.

> but she's not gonna go in dry. Foreplay first. She needs trust. Thus t(h)rust the queen!

I’m loving the juxtaposition of those last two panels. And Maha’s look that seems rather pointedly directed toward that posh-looking, definitely-not-getting-rained-on crowd.

I love Sonorie’s dress design even more now. Though the stage is protected from the rain, she is not.

Ellie

Literally eat the rich.

So much cannibalism in this comic. Ashley, are you mayhaps a Rimworld player?
