Yeah, one can capture a khert-line or three (in fact every spell is using a "captured" line to execute its manipulation) but the idea of capturing/occupying every line in the vicinity is crazy, it should shoot Mogul through the roof and provoke a retaliation. So this guy's definitely an altered freakboy.

Careful, Lilleord!

Haha, second last panel. "Turns out... little monkey fella."

Michael Stakely

I believe this was what the backbencher was talking about the other day when it comes Goodwin; "natural" skills galore buuuut not necessarily the forethought to properly use them in a way that won't turn somebody inside out. Which, yeah, that's oft the intent but Goodwin is liable to do it to the wrong person.

Rousseau: "Is somebody gonna match my freak?"

IZZAT VLAD IN THE CORNER I SEE!?

Gally

if will's dad is smart enough to figure out who that really is without her being revealed publicly, that'd be the funniest possible outcome. i doubt it will happen, but i can dream!

Rifter

"Lilleord" lol

jumanji-mongie

The layout of the panels on this page is fantastic! The action translates so well, and the khert lines separating the panels?? Chef’s kiss!

Spider

I wonder... she spends so much time around Will, but how much of it is Argenti Sr actually aware of or paying attention to? It would sure be rough for the Golden Delight if the answer was "more attentively than she thought"! Luckily nothing terrible ever happens in Unsounded/TRC.

Ashley

Thank you ;_; I tried so hard to make the action really fun and clear and easy to read in this whole scene. It was like my primary goal, haha.

Sanctity

Capturing all the lines also leaves his partner without any. We haven't seen Sackheim cast yet so no idea how much he uses pymary in his fighting but it could give Will an opening.

GracieV

AKA your pymary goal.

Rob N

Nice to see a pymaric duel commented like a football (or soccer if you prefer) match - makes it much easier to understand what's going on! Also, there seem to be some doubts if Lilleord is really Lilleord, but the color of his/her/their pymary seems to contradict this theory?

Hagelslag

Show them Mikaila! The world may only know one man to outcast a plat but soon they'll also know a woman masquerading as a man to do so!

Chantal Fournier

I suspect Argenti Sr spends way less time around Will than the Golden Delight does. He sent him to war as a small child for crying out loud.

Chantal Fournier

Hopefully, they won't know all of that for a while yet. We've seen how bigoted Aldish society can be.

Reed Copperstrand

I might have a thing for Thackeray. He doesn't seem a very nice person, but I can't deny it any longer: There's just something about his looks and facial expressions that does it for me. ^_^;

Ashley

He's a fun dude! And he'd probably be perfectly nice to you; he just doesn't have a lot of patience for perceived laziness or any tomfoolery. Very serious business!

Khyrberos

no comment, but remember that a wright can actively choose & change their "elashamid" (the glowy pymary colors associated with them) at will. ; )

Khyrberos

it's Claggart all over again. xD

Stillpoint

Except she'd probably be killed if he actually knew lol

CelebrenIthil

Sackheim is a Copper, which if I recall correctly mean they can't wield any direct pymary. They're completely "dead" to the khert. Can still understand the theory and, like, design pymarics IIRC, but unless he's equipped with a spell-slicing weapon he's joined in as normie muscle! (Simply tackling the fuck out of your opponent to drive them from the circle surely counts, even if it's unglamorous compared to pymaryboy's tricks there.)

Rob N

Thanks for clearing that up, looks like I missed this particular tidbit on Tumblr (or wherever it was revealed) 😆

CelebrenIthil

Ooooh, my bad! Then he's got some moves up his sleeves too then, we'll see how that turns out!
