Bets? Drama rules dictate Miki should win, but only whilst exposing her true form. Logic dictates she should lose, as even with all her talent this fight really should have been out of her league - she's ultimately young and not inexperienced in real combat, fighting a roided plat. Losing also makes sense story-wise as it clearly gives her room to grow as a fighter among other things. Complicated! However, she is yet to use her trump card of being a tacit caster. I imagine she will be pressured into using it, revealing she ain't no Lilleord through that. Then she will... honestly winning or losing are still 50/50 past this point. If I were to trust my gut I'd say win, even though as a reader I think I might prefer a loss?

I’m gonna bet on her winning! Lilleord mentioned earlier in the chapter that “only one man could ever outcast a plat (Duane)”. Even with everything that’s happened the odds are still against her! Even Will wanted to call off the match for her safety. I think she needs a win before everything goes to shit.

I am fantastically bad at either guessing or extrapolating (in fact I was convinced Mikaila really was dead, because I thought it'd be a cheap fake-out, missing all the signs making both of those things not true) so I won't be surprised if I'm wrong, but: I think maybe what's important about this fight is less whether she wins or loses and more what attention it's gonna draw - either from Valentin or Argenti-the-evil-dad-one. The latter already knows about her but perhaps has not realized the extent of her abilities or may be getting desperate in his artificially old age. I don't know exactly what Valentin would want and I can't see her wanting to work with him, but... maybe if there's blowing up Cresce involved? Or he might lie; there's always lying. If I'm right about that (that it's more of a secret accidental job interview sort of thing) then a win seems a bit more likely; cleaner.
