This is the start of a series of scenes where there were just too damn many characters to draw. It gets worse when Shaensigin re-enters in a few pages. She takes so very long not only to draw but to colour. There are ways to suggest all the detail of her scales without slogging through drawing and shading them all, but I choose to work harder, not smarter.

My whinging aside, meet Vampire. We haven't had that many bearded characters in the story. He's about three-hundred years old, quite large, and very comfortable with himself. Maybe not as scary looking as you might have predicted. Might actually be a decent fellow.

‘Don’t be scared’, okay, are you at least planning in killing them before feeding them to the giant, torturous creature?

Well, that's one way to keep an eye on what you eat... 😱

Ashley that's not where eyes go

I dunno... in my experience anyone who declares themselves a vampire is a huge, huge, huuuuge douche. HUEG.

Well that IS interesting. I am dying to know how such a creature came to be. And here I just though the salt had built up around her eye sockets. As for Vampire, he seems quite a calm and confident and HANDSOME fella. I’m immediately on Team Vampire. (Looks-ism, take me away!)

How do you pronounce Shaensigin, btw? I’ve been hearing “shy-EN-sig-EEN” in my head…

Judith Bradford

eep what could use Shaensigin possibly mean the Adelier brothers are good enough for... that she would determine by sniffing them?

Judith Bradford

and Vampire... at a guess, Roger's love-of-life?

Salt lizard seems a sibling to Ilganyag--something about those eyes... Have they a connection? Or maybe they are just both ancient, precient and wise?
