God. If he'd been just couple minutes sooner, he could have pulled the same trick on the Solidity of the rubble Sara was stuck in.

You play you and I'll play me but all the stage is rot an flame, and you left me and I left you and all the rage is left. Here's Duane.

What’s the name of this chapter? Passionate Intensity? Understatement.

Ah, such a great page. I love pretty much everything about it. Sette is, in her own mind, taking a MASSIVE gamble here. Because she genuinely thinks that Duane might actually kill her here, but she still makes the gamble. Except of course she's working with outdated information. Since last they met, Duane has gotten the methaphorical ice bucket poured over him, then been slammed in the face with it, and then thrown out into a frozen sea for good measure. He's gotten quite the wake up call, and if maybe not back to full mental health, he's not nearly as bad as Sette thinks he is at the moment. But Sette thinks he is, so she thinks she's gotta give him the metaphorical "wake up slap" for him to realise that Sette isnt bluffing. So in classic Sette Fashion she insults him to try and get him moving. And it does work, but again, the important thing here is that Sette genuienly believes that Duane might kill her now for talking to him like that, which is why she reacts like she does when Duane manhandles her. Just asking him to go help her friends at least. It's a very brave moment on her part, gambling everything on getting Duane to help save them, even if she herself is highly likely to be killed. Then of course there is the other side of the coin. Because Duane is NOT going to kill her. But as he holds her, Duane realises that Sette isn't bluffing. She genuienly thinks he might kill her here. Is more likely than not going to do so. Duane looking at a cowering Sette might just be my favorite single panel of this arc so far. It's the logical culmination of Duane's actions at the shrine as a whole. The one person who genuienly cares for Duane, cowering in fear as he threatens violence. Duane Adelier, who professes to loving and caring about children above pretty much everything else, is now holding a child by the scruff angrily and threateningly, while below other children are possibly dying. Sette really thinks he is going to kill her, and it is all because of his own shitty actions. How the mighty have fallen. I love how in that one, single panel You can see Duane have the realisation that this is really how far he's sunk. And he finaly makes the right choice. He goes down to save the kids. Of course, Duane isn't going to get the catharsis of being heroic here though. Instead, he's going to venture down into a Hell of his own making. Or rather, a hell made by Alderode. This is what you wanted, isnt it Duane? The destruction of this heretic shrine? An end to false worship here? Well you got it Duane. You had a chance to stop the invaders, and instead you acted self rightious at them and let them go on their merry way. And now you got to live with that choice. Forever.

I like the contrasts we're getting this chapter with Duane's more intact, more 'human' eye on the left and his more damaged on the right

Yeah, I see the "nothing good" starts with the bodies of his former students. And it gets worse from there...
