I know Quigley is a contentious character, but he really is one of my favourites. He's super real to me. Have you ever been so depressed that you started to loathe people who love you because it feels like they're chaining you to an existence you're desperate to escape?

I’ve always been pretty neutral on Quigs. He’s not a “good guy” and never really has been in what we’ve seen, but he’s not a complete monster either. To me he’s mostly been an interesting, differing, second opinion on Alderode. Looking at him as someone who’s really /really/ depressed is making some things much clearer to me regarding his attitude and some of his actions. With how he’s acting here I can almost feel that stifling heaviness. That deep indifference that you can almost weaponise when the energy is gone and the mask cracks.

Well if you want your kid knocked out of his khert-trip pissing him off might work.

It's scary seeing people gradually fade away like that, perpetuating hate wherever they go. Scarier still to be the son of someone like that. Poor Matty :(

Elka can hear this whole conversation since that door's open, right?

The Apprentice

Well, this does remove a lot of the ambiguity about what happened to Vivienne.

Is Duane pulling a reflection aspect from the window to help Sette with the head-fitting?

Maybe relevant for the print: Typo in the last word in the bottom left panel

Manic Raven

…You know, I tend to favor the idealistic, "good" characters in whatever I'm reading, but Quigs just shot up in my "relatable" rankings, for whatever that's worth.

James Duff

Air it all out, Quigs. Also, I'm glad to see Pantoffel's saddle getting the rest it deserves.

Oh poor Matty is in agony there. His worst day is coming for him, isn’t it? The squishies seem to be trying to help ):

Malik M.L. Williams

I feel like we’re watching Matty’s villain origin story unfold right before our eyes.

"I loved her, but what the hell did that matter" is such a raw ass line. Damn.

I still remember how everyone used to hate on him in the comments, back when he was still working for the Red Berry Boys, before eventually warming up to him in later chapters. In contrast, he was my favourite character from the get go. I do love my morally questionable pretty men after all. But compared to the rest of the cast who fit that description, he felt the most relatable. So while I understand why the pendulum of opinions on him is currently swinging back to disdain for many, it does make me a bit sad that someone as clearly broken as him does not get much compassion.
