The Lobby: Dolittle (Patreon)

The new Robert Downey Jr.-starring Dolittle is not the first attempt to adapt the Hugh Lofting children's book character to film, but it may just be the worst attempt. 2020's first major box-office flop is one of those bad movies whose badness just begs to be dissected and examined, which is what Keith and Scott do in this bonus episode, with an assist from Tasha, who has not seen Dolittle but is on hand to help the guys unpack their distressed reactions to an early critics' screening. They dig into the distancing effect of witnessing such incompetence on screen, in a film where "the very basic fundamental aspects of filmmaking are not met," whether any of Dolittle's star-packed cast emerges from the wreckage unscathed, and whether it is in fact Keith's duty as a father to prevent his young daughter from seeing this movie.
